Walking into this place for the first time since the name change I wasn’t expecting much but I was very pleasantly surprised. I couldn’t believe the beer selection & Chris, the bartender/co owner really knew his beers too. I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the smoking. Since I recently quit it kind of got to me. But other than that it’s a great place! I will definitely return!

While this bar may give the initial illusion of being just another dive bar, it offers so much more. Inside Dannos, your typical town bar findings are here: pool, live music, games and a myriad of drinks. Let’s focus on the latter though. For being a «dive bar», this establishment has a surprising amount of rotating craft beers(a few at ridiculous low prices as specials). As well, Chris(the main ‘tender in charge) is a seasoned mixologist and is more than willing to put together almost any cocktail you choose. If you don’t see it on the list, don’t be afraid to ask. He and almost everyone else as staff members have been incredibly friendly. As mentioned; darts, pool and Golden Tee are featured here. The location also serves the STL Bar Wars Gaming League on Mondays in it’s side room, hosting gamer competitions in Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, Smash Bros, etc. Live music is featured on the weekends, however local stand-up comedy and karaōke can be found during the weekdays bringing a rather eclectic crowd for people watching. Try this location out for a change. It certainly beats Hotshots nearby.

Look, these places are small, unknown, and have obscure locations. The only thing that you really have to make or break you is the service you offer. The place is close to where I live and upon first entering thought«this would be a neat little hole in the wall joint that we could come to regularly.» We figured it was okay that we didn’t get a waitress to come around for drinks even tho they were walking around. So I went to the bar. First time took a few minutes to get served– no big deal. But, my second visit was awful. The kid behind the bar stood there talking to his friend. Served him. Walked by me and said«I’ll be right with you» then proceeded to start talking to his friend again AND serve someone else who came up after me. He still didn’t serve me. I went back to my seat and was perturbed. We left. If you want to run a shit hole bar at least teach your employees what service at a successful bar should be. Otherwise you will close and have no clue as to why. Take a day and use it to train. If you don’t know what good service is hire someone who does. Really disappointed and really wanted to like this place.

I absolutely LOVE this quaint & cozy little place! The owners and the folks who work there are AWESOME, the drinks reasonably priced and where else can you find a live band and no cover charge on the weekends?! I strongly suggest checking it out!

This dive bar lives up to the stereotype… dingy, a pool table, juke box, cheap booze, and blue collar clientele. I stopped in on Saturday and they had a live band… which was kind of cool, especially since there wasn’t a cover charge.

This is just a typical Affton bar with the clientile you would expect. But order the chicken sandwich. And then order other one and eat them both. Then email me on Unilocal to thank me. Oh, you can order a beer, too, and play something on the juke box.
