I had a friend get me a BBQ chicken sandwich and it was not tasteful at all. It seems as if the chicken had been over baked because it was dry and soaked in BBQ sauce. I didn’t taste smoke meat at all. One of the worst feelings in the world is wasting your money on food that doesn’t taste good. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

We went here through Groupon, and we are so glad we did because it would have been really sad to pay full price. I always say that two very important things about BBQ are the sauce and the freshness. We got ribs and chicken and both seemed like they had been Q’d several days prior to our visit. The sauce was ok, but couldn’t cover the«old» taste.

I loved my rib tips from here! The sauce is what brought it together. Came with mashed potato salad… only way to say that one lol but its a standard side to me that goes with BBQ places. You can totally tell they are made in house but I had no problem with that, eat em hot bc they will get tough. Now for smoked rib tips must one go elsewhere, but if ur around the way its right off 70 and Jennings, easy in and out.

I’ve been eating here since I was a kid. My favorite dish from here is a snoot sandwich. It comes covered in bbq sauce, potato salad on the sandwich and bread smothered in the sauce. I love it. When I visit other establishments, I ask them to add my potato salad to the sandwich and cover it all with sauce. Still yummy after all these years.

Just like the other reviewer said, how do you give a place low stars based on what they serve?! That’s stupid. I actually went there for the snoot, not for me but for my partner in grub and he said they were cooked perfectly, not too fatty, crisp and the sauce was good. I had the rib tips sandwich which were good. Some pieces were a little dry, some pieces a little fatty but that’s typical with rib tips. I liked the sauce and I didn’t find it to spicy at all. Would I go there again? Yep.

Based on reviews we read on Unilocal,we decided to try C& K when we were visiting St. Louis. We decided to stick with ribs. They were good, but not great. We found them to be meaty, but lacking smoky flavor. After we left C &K, we were driving down a nearby street and saw a local vendor with a smoker selling BBQ. I wish we had skipped C & K and tried the local guy.

All the other reviewers are nuts. This place was great. How does somebody complain that this place serves snoot and tripe? Those are something this place is known for… Also, you can see the food being prepared, just not from where you order. After you order if you walk to the other end of the counter, you can see into the kitchen. Why would you wait at the cash register anyway? I also don’t get how somebody complains that there is no seating. This place is take out only, thats just what they do… Anyway, I had the snoot plate, it was fantastic, nice and crispy, great bbq sauce at this place. Be forewarned though, this place is in a pretty bad neighborhood. People who live there were definitely staring at me, I was very out of place.

I went to C&K with hopes to find another bbq jewel in this area. I order the spare ribs, pulled pork and snoots. The ribs were awful they were so tough i couldn’t even eat them. No smoke flavor, hardly any rub and they tasted boiled. I asked the lady who took my order what kind of wood they use to smoke the meat and she said they don’t used wood just carcoal so there ya go. The pulled pork was ok but contained alot of fat. The snoots were not cooked or prepared properly. I could not eat even half of them, they were soft and chewy. The best thing was the sauce which was decent. Not worth the trip stay away!

My wife had some of the best ribs she’s ever eaten here but I thought they were overly dry and too spicy. I don’t like that when you order, you can not see the guy preparing the food. Who knows where it came from, but it was ok.

Gross. Period. On the menu? Snouts. Tripe. Pigs’ ears. I tried for a pulled pork sandwich. They were out. Pulled beef? Out? Links? OK. The guy disappears in the«back,» a dark abyss, where he arrives with a paper sack, and I scurry out. You see, there’s no seating on the premises. You must take out only(which, in hindsight, is a good thing.) The sandwich? One link, split in half, sitting on two grease-SOAKED pieces of bread. GROSS. Move on.
