Stopped by here after a bar, and wanted to get a nice NY style slice of pizza pie. So I got a sausage/pepperoni slice to go, I ate it as I walked back home when much to my alarm, they gave me a pizza with PROVEL cheese on it. After the first bite, I screamed out a nasty swear word real loud, and immediately throw it into the wastebasket on Wasn Ave. I was here awhile back and don’t remember them using provel, In fact, I enjoyed it the last time I was there. You know, B and T was a nice refuge from the slop known as St Louis pizza, but now they had to go ahead and put that cheese on there. OIVAY!

B&T Pizza is DECEASED! It was replaced yesterday(8-16-2011) by «Il Posto», which is a saint louis style pizza with provel cheese. A *terrible* saint louis style pizza with provel cheese that has prices that rival and exceed Imo’s prices.

I ate here on a cold and windy/rainy day in spring of 2010. Don’t ask how i remember this day so well, but… i do. #1. u can never find a place to park downtown, so that in and of itself is frustrating and being hungry just adds to the frustration. #2. i don’t think i have ever waited so long in my life for a friggin calzone. I could have ordered one back home in scranton, pa and had it delivered quicker. I’m not kidding. #3. It was tough and had very little cheese or filling to it. Sampling this cardboard really broke my heart. I had such high hopes for this place, it looked like a diamond in the rough. Just another crappy pizza joint in the midwest.

After wandering St. Louis and with all the bars closed for the night, me and my friends could not for the life of us find a place to get some food. at ~3am you have three options. 1) The bowling alley which has your typical probs previously frozen food(fries, chicken fingers, etc) 2) The 24⁄7 open diner, amusing to be at with all the drunkies and decently fast service, with mediocre burgers/shakes. 3) B&T pizza. After literally walking into each of these establishments, I settled for B&T and got a slice of sausage pizza(~$ 2.25) and the garlic knots(which are like 9 for 2.50 or something dirt cheap like that). So good! The garlic knots were really garlic-y and buttery and I didn’t want to share with anyone, and the sausage pizza slice was really satisfying. The only thing is, I don’t know if they don’t like people who aren’t locals, or the fact that they’re stuck there working late hours, or they didn’t like that I wanted my order to go… but the workers are incredibly rude. And to-go means im-gonna-shove-your-pizza-in-a-paper-bag-and-cause-the-cheese-to-stick-to-it. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars. But… the pizza and garlic knots are great! AND they’re open after you go to the bars!

Went to B & T today. I had always walked by when heading to lunch on Washington and had always forgotten about it when I was deciding where I wanted to go for lunch. Needless to say, I will always remember the place now. Since it was so bitterly cold and getting more and more windy out the guys from work and I decided to not walk back with food and dined in today. The special is 2 slices of pizza and a soda for less than $ 7 so we all went with that. I ordered the pepperoni slices and we all sat down at one of the tables. The chairs seemed like they were outdoor plastic chairs but were surprisingly comfortable. I hadn’t noticed when we walked in that there were two TV’s suspended from the ceiling so you could look out the window and watch TV at the same time. Excellent for people watching. I thought the mirrors which are the same walleye ones you find at Walgreens on the wall were pretty neat too inside. The kitchen area looked clean and plain and it looks like the staff does a great job of keeping the oven in good shape. Having worked in a place with a similar pizza oven I was impressed. The whole pizza prices look a little expensive at first but after talking it over with the guys at the table we decided if you had a lot of mouths to feed(7 or 8) and they were running their buy one get one half off special then it wasn’t too bad of a deal. The pizza reminded me of the old Pizza place in Crestwood Mall. It was a chain restaurant but tasted really good. It was the place before Sbarro moved in. I can’t remember the name off hand. I had a moment of nostalgia when I took my first bite. The slices were larger than that place and it was great pizza. Presentation had a little left to be desired. Basically they pizza was brought to us on trays with wax paper, which I guess is needed since the slices were huge. Next time, I’ll probably see if more people from work want to go and we’ll order a whole. Either that or I’ll try one of their calzones, they looked pretty good as well.

I miss my East coast living, mostly b/c I miss the PIZZA!!! and when I use to spend 95% of my time on Washington Ave I was sure to find myself in here grabbing TWO slices of cheese pizza sprinkling with red pepper flakes and Parmesan and then… doing the fold and tilt! If you are a NY’er you know about the fold, tilt and bite. Either way this place is open late so whether it’s midday or mid morning grab some pizza and enjoy!

Stop being so elitist. I have spent time in New York too, and a lot of NYC isn’t any better than this. Clearly, some of you are just romanticizing about how great the slices were. And stop complaining about the prices. A drink and a pair of two-topping slices is $ 7 and something. You just paid $ 8 for a drink downtown and you expect there to be pizza waiting for you outside for a dollar twenty five? If you’re going to complain that you don’t like a place serving you pizza by the slice at 2am, then you didn’t drink enough. If you didn’t drink enough, then you should just drive home and order Domino’s, since I’m sure you’ll think that’s a better deal. Oh wait… don’t they have Domino’s in the Village too?

Please don’t dismiss this short review with a one star rating as a simple disgruntled patron ranting on Unilocal. It’s simple: I’ve tried this pizza four times now hoping each time it would be better, the bottom line is that unless I am starving or drunk out of my mind — this pizza tastes awful. Dijorno puts it to shame in fact. There are so many choices for pizza in downtown STL that I can’t fathom why anyone eats here outside of the hours of 1am-3am on Fridays and Saturdays

I’ve been coming here more often– I like the sausage slices. The food is still tasty, but I’m noticing a consistent lack of service when I go in. My order(or parts of it) have been forgotten or ignored a couple of times. If you eat in, expect a wait for your food. It seems like there are only two people cooking/taking orders, and that’s just too few. Strategy: Get it to go and wait in front of their faces. They get irritable when they see people waiting for their food; hovering around is guaranteed to get you in, out, and enjoying your slice promptly.

I’ve never been to New York so I really don’t care if this is real NY style pizza or not. It tastes good and its quick. Its open late and its better than Maurizio’s, which as far as I know is the only other pizza open til 3am. I hada slice of sausage pizza and a sausage and pepperoni stromboli, both tasty.

We can’t really comment too much since we only stopped in for some garlic knots… sounded good to us. The place is a small little place but there is counter height seating to look out of the window onto Washington Ave. The 2 young people working were pretty indifferent to us and we just ordered the garlic knots. Well, they tasted a lot like they’ve been sitting under their heat lamp for quite some time, so cold and chewy. Luckily it came w/marinara sauce or we’d have trouble getting them down. I think we got a lousy batch also since I didn’t taste much garlic… just like pizza dough balls. There are too many other awesome pizza places close by for us to waste time here… Ferraro’s, The Good Pie etc…

I can only speak for what I had, of course, but the calzone was delicious! Fresh dough, fresh cheese and not-too-greasy pepperoni, with just the right amount of herbs and spices. Service was fine, restaurant was clean, and prices were cheap. I’ll be missing some B & T when I go home to Arkansas tomorrow.

Ok, this is a good late-night pizza. If you coming to STL U have to go to Feraro’s Pizza in Soulard 1st, period! This pizza is Pretty good and cheesy esp when hot… but it is Mayer lacking a little something I can’t put my finger on it. But it is pretty good so give it a try… ESPGARLICKNOTS! YUMMM!!!

B&T has the kind of pizza that gets more delicious as your Wash Ave jaunt stretches into the wee hours. So delicious in fact that I once saw a young man, so distraught that the restaurant was no longer serving for the night, that he picked up B&T’s candy dispenser, carried it outside in frustration, and chucked it onto the pavement outside. Moral of the story: Good late night pizza that attracts a certain less-sober crowd after the Wash Ave bars empty out.

This is my FAV pizza in St. Louis. So i’m just so surprised that people are hating on it! The things I love about B&T 1. They’re open till 3AM on Fri & Sat! 2. Their pizza is bomb 3. Their HOUSE salad is bomb 4. Their salad and pizza combo for 6.50 is bomb! Oh the only thing that is NOTBOMB is parking. UGH! There is a parking lot next to the bowling alley, but it cost 5 bucks!

I don’t like NY style pizza and if some of the posters say its not NY style, then that may be why. The make th dough right in front of you, so I did that. It’s a great balance of chewy and crisp. Deals are great, 2 slices a salad and soda for $ 8, awesome. The star of the place to me is the calzone, I LOVE the calzone! Italian sausage and onion freshly made while you wait, I am always happy to hit B&T. Open ’til 3 am on the weekends, STL needs more drunken pick up food.

I was born in New York, and grew up in the northeast eating New York style pizza. And this is a pretty weak imitation. Blah slices. Blah toppings. Not even fast with the service. The only thing«New York» about it is the prices, except it’s like some St. Louisan’s idea of New York prices. A slice here costs way more than most places in the five boroughs. But, it is better than Papa John’s and about the only other place around my office to get a quick slice. So I do stop by occasionally. It does taste a tiny bit like home, but I wouldn’t go one block out of my way for it.

First, bridge and tunnel refers to those people who do not live directly in Manhattan and need to take a bridge or a tunnel to get there… not for IL/MO metro-link separation as noted in an earlier review. Second, as a girl who used to live in NYC, this is without a doubt the farthest thing from NY-style pizza I’ve ever had. This was more like home-made fare, but the sauce was robust and tasty. I especially liked the salad they gave me with it. Really, I could have eaten the croutons as a meal. Third, that is really all I have to say about it… wasn’t very memorable, but when your only options downtown are Quiznos, Jimmy John’s, Subway, and Java Bean, it could be a whole lot worse…

Lady friend and I ate here the other night, and there are a few things worthy of note. 1.) They do have a combo – soda, slice and salad for $ 7.95; I’m assuming they changed the deal since Nowell went, frankly, because $ 7 for a soda and slice is a huge rip off. 2.) B&T has absolutely nothing to do with Illinois. I have a ridiculous amount I could say about this, but, for once, I’ll hold my tongue. Well, I do have one thing – why call it B&T? I understand what they’re going for, but obviously not enough people get it, and for the ones that do, why would I go to a restaurant referencing B&T? Anyway, to review: The place is pretty cheap, overall. The guys working there are ridiculously nice. The pizza isn’t very good, but I wouldn’t complain if I was asked to eat here again. The only thing New York about this pizza is that they have pre-made base pies, and pepper to taste on the side. I’d like to note that this is the first«normal» review I’ve given on here. I definitely had more to say, but I didn’t feel like having anyone hate me today. Pay it Forward!

First, let’s talk about the name. I’m guessing they’re referring to our«Ill Side» Metro East neighbors? Not so funny, it’s already been done, mkay? Bridge & Tunnel serves NY-style pizza by the slice or entire pie in the heart of the nightlife district until the wee hours. While I wasn’t doing headstands, my slice probably did save me from an excruciating Thanksgiving hangover. I ordered the plain cheese and was pleased with the size and overall flavor(and yes, it was hot!) though the crust was a bit overdone– too crispy. My cousin had a slice in between bars and then again post-bar. 3 slices total! An unwilling poster child has clearly emerged.
