I first discovered Adventures in Spice at Best of Missouri Market last Fall. They were giving samples and I LOVED them. I just bought one thing — Italian Odyssey spice. I’ve used it so much that I was almost out from using it so much. One day last Spring, I went to Kirkwood Farmer’s Market and discovered that they have a booth there on Fridays and Saturdays! They have all their wares and more than I remember from the market. They don’t have any other physical space. I pretty much just go to the Farmer’s Market to buy spices now. It’s nice to buy spices from a local, non-chain business. It’s not Penzey’s, but there are a lot of interesting blends that I’ve been acquiring. Some favorites other than the Italian Odyssey are the vanilla sugar(great on pie crusts!), herbed salt(SO good in casseroles and veggies), and Spaghetti spices. My husband really enjoys them too. A little goes a long way. There are recipes on the website and the owners are really friendly and nice, and will give you their personal email addresses in case you need ideas. I look forward to trying more in the future! Next time you find yourself in Kirkwood, go check their booth out!
