I went there for work. Was good food. They have this garlic paste they put in their pita, really yummy. I got the basil chicken, was good. Little over priced. I picked something that was 7.99 on the menu and got a bottle of water and ended up paying $ 13.50 or something for it. I would go back again, just make sure I paid what it says on the board.

Passing through, my sister and I were craving some good ol’ Mediterranean food so of course, being a Unilocaler– Jaffa Café came up with an impressive 4.5 star rating. The setting is very casual. Order first, eat, then pay. I ordered the beef shawarma place and she got the chicken shawarma. The presentation of the food was also very… casual. They do give you a decent amount of meat but I felt like the plate was definitely not worth $ 10.99. It looked more like a $ 8 plate. Anyways, hummus was decent, pita bread was decent, salad was bitter, meat was decent. Overall, I’ve had better for the price of $ 10.99.

The chicken shawarma is excellent. And if you mention it is your first time there you get a free baklava! The staff is very friendly and the casual atmosphere is nice.

In a place like SLO where there are plenty of eateries all over town, I found this to be one of my go to places because the food is so good. If you’re looking for Mediterranean food, start here. The menu is simple but there are still plenty of options for everybody and the prices are pretty affordable. I usually get a combo plate of falafel balls, hummus, a salad and add on gyro for a total of $ 13. The staff is very fun and friendly and the owner is very nice. Overall I would recommend going here any day after school or work for a quick bite to eat or take out.

This is the best Mediterranean food I have EVER had– and I’m from the Bay, where we have rife competition. I fell in love with the dolmas here, and they have plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. There’s ample seating, but it was busy every single time I visited(no surprise). The service is quick, friendly, and they recognize you when you come back which is always a bonus! If you’re passing through SLO, this is a must-try!

As far as SLO and Jaffa Café is concerned, a total 5 star experience for this super fast casual establishment. It’s quick, clean, delicious, affordable with incredible customer service. BOOM! Date night? Nope. This spot is a fast food alternative. I stopped in for a 2 hour lunch before my flight and utilized their free WIFI and had my $ 10 chicken schwarma plate and was full for the rest of the day. A ton of juicy, seasoned chicken atop lettuce or rice(I opted for the lettuce) along with hummus and some pita. Help yourself to their hot sauce bar and you have yourself a meal! It was ready in about 4 – 5 minutes. Vegetarians/vegans — salad and falafel are available! The service was helpful and extremely friendly. I appreciate they don’t make you rush and pay, but rather enjoy your meal and come on up after you enjoy yourself. The place including the bathroom is super clean and there’s plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. A total win for a quick, easy and delicious lunch or dinner.

I love(d) this place. Used to go here quite often and get the chicken kebab plate with an order of grape leaves and a baklava, to go. My husband gets the gyro. The food was always good, fresh and fast. The baklava was to die for… buttery and so so tasty. Hadn’t gone there in awhile when we decided to go a few days ago. Sadly we were very dissapointed. My chicken kebab plate had underdone chicken and they changed the rice. It used to be a really good yellow rice and now it’s nasty tasting. My husband said his gyro was so so. The saddest part was the baklava… all I can say is, WHY O WHY did you change a good thing?! Now the baklava has this odd orange water flavor? that is way overpowering. What used to be a piece of buttery, cinnamon laden goodness is now a dry, overpowered by orange flavor(that tastes like soap) nastiness. If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!

I love Mediterranean food! The plates are delicious here and are a must try! Jaffa has a variety of food that you should try from all different types of meats! The hummus is delicious from Jaffa and definitely is a restaurant I go back to again! I have been there a numerous amount of times and would go back again!

We got beef and shawarma plates. Both were nice and tender. Perfectly seasoned. Great size for the price. We will defiantly be back. The cook was super friendly and helpful. The clerk was very nice as well.

The food is so-so to my taste(Petra does it better – interestingly they used to be business partners, but then…). However THEBAKLAVA is the BEST in SLO and I have tried them ALL – honestly. I went to every place in SLO that offers baklava and tried them and this one is the s%^t. Made on premises with just the right mix of sweet, flaky and nutty.

Love this place and have been loving it for over a decade. I have my favorites on the menu and typically, I go with the lamb Shawarma. Tonight was no exception and it was delicious, as always. My hubby loves the gyro. The lentil soup here is wonderful and always save room for the Baklava; it’s amazing!

Jaffa is my go-to mediterranean restaurant in the area. Bomb food, quality beer on tap for cheap prices, and the crew is nice. Let’s talk beer first. It’s a good place to go for a drink. We took a bachelor party there recently to start the day out. The prices are insanely good. I think it’s 3 or 3.50 a glass for beer on tap, but they also have bottled beers. They have Blue Moon, an IPA and 805(maybe?) on tap. It’s cheaper than the bars, and fun place to hang out because they have both inside and outside seating. Food wise, I start out with their dolmas. Then I get a lamb shawarma with a side of tzatziki sauce cause the combo is perfect. The homemade hummus and pita it comes with is amazing. The baklava is homemade. I’m not typically a baklava guy, but I can eat it all day. And the people… Always friendly. I love it.

I love the laid back service and feel here! You walk in and order by filling out a piece of paper and placing it in a basket. When your food is ready, they call your name and you don’t pay until AFTER you’re done. It’s a very honor based system and everyone here seems happy and content. The food is fresh and delicious. Can’t get enough of that tzatziki sauce!

Every time I come here it’s better than the last. The is delicious and fresh and the pitas are thick and moist. The owners, who seem to always be around, are friendly and really seem to love he business. I always try to stop here when I’m in town! Some of my favorites are: Chicken fattoush salad Lamb gyro plate Chicken shawarma wrap And of course, the homemade baklava!

I am happy to say that even after all this time, Jaffa Café is still one of my absolute favorite lunch spots in San Luis Obispo. The employees are all like family and the food is fantastical(yep, I just said fantastical). Run, don’t walk, to get your gyro on!

I had high expectations due to the high rating on Unilocal.I was greatly disappointed. My sister ordered the 3 cheese pizza. We got back a pita bread with melted sprinkle cheese, crumbled feta cheese and tomatoes. 1) a pitiful, and embarrassing excuse for a pizza. 2) only two cheeses not 3. I had the lamb shawarma. The meat was cold and bland. Maybe we came on the wrong night because based on the muck I just ate I can not fathom why this place has higher than 2 stars on Unilocal

No wonder why this yummy place almost has a five star review! And wow, almost 400 Unilocal reviews? My friend took me here for a dinner and everything in my plate was delicious! The staff was super friendly and nice too. I requested for more rice to go and he didn’t even charge me for it. Will definitely come back here for more Mediterranean food. Gotta try the other delicious dishes they have.

I didn’t like the first time that I tried Mediterranean food but this place really changed my mind. It was the first time I was here last night and the girl in the front offered me a free piece of baklava. The baklava was delicious and really flaky. I was going to save it for after dinner but I couldn’t wait… desserts before dinner: D The place itself was really bright and open. It was a little strange for me to order and eat before paying, but eh. I had the Falafel combo plate with the tomato/cucumber salad and rice. The garlic pita was delicious! I wish I could’ve had more but I was stuffed. There was plenty left for another meal(for me). The people that worked there made me feel warm and invited, made small talk and actually cared about their service. I’d give a 5 star for their service and another 5 for the food. I’ll definitely be back for more next time around.
