I love CCR&R! My keys always work, they offer me great, less expensive alternatives to re-keying and replacing locks. A little hint: you can save the cost of a house/office call by taking off your lock yourself and taking it in for re-keying. I appreciate the expert advice and service. Thanks for all the care you take with your profession.

I’m very disappointed with the work they did on my front door handle set. Here’s what the problem was: The latch would not retract when the thumb lever was depressed, thereby making the door un-openable. The Central Coast R & R locksmith said that it did not need a repair, just an adjustment, and charged me $ 105. Here we are less than 6 weeks later and the latch has stopped retracting again — I feel that I wasted $ 105 which is a lot of money to flush down the toilet.

I started using CCR&R for all of my keying needs over the past year. I got tired of HomeDepot and OSH keys not working and realized saving a buck was not saving a buck if you had to drive back and forth to get it done right. The guys here are knowledgeable and HELPFUL. I’ve hit them with questions on everything from 1930’s mortise locks to Schlage digital locks to «how do I fix my tenant’s sticky lock», and they always have the answer. When I described my tenant’s sticky lock, they even gave me a little bit of Teflon spray to see if it would fix things, and it DID! Didn’t cost me a cent! Needless to say, I will be coming back for all future keying needs. One BIG service they do that you will never get at HD or OSH or Miner’s: they will stamp your keys with letters or numbers that help you identify keys. Property managers and realtors know this, but homeowners may not know how useful this is. As a property manager, I now stamp every key I have made with the street number of the house, and letters like R(for Rear), F(for Front), G(for Garage), etc. No more head-scratching over«what’s this key for?»
