I come to Morro Bay every year from Utah. Batch has been open 4 years… Not. Cool. Chocolate chip cookie, snickers ice cream sandwich. Cookie was warm and soft on the inside, slightly crisp on the outside. Ice cream was perfectly soft, but not melty… Bravo. Update: we showed up at 9:02pm and the girl working was helping about 5 other people in line. «Open» Light was on. We stood outside waiting and turned our backs and she told the other patrons to shut the door and then said«sorry, we’re closed… I’m just helping these last few people». Business owners would never turn business away… Millennials are just.. . Wow. Love the customer(dis)service.

MYTEAM!!! You know the saying«Good things come in small packages»? Well, Batch may be a tiny little storefront, but it’s packed full of flavor and fun! This place is TINY. There are two small tables in one corner and a bar with two stools on the other wall. More than 8 people in here at once is a crowd! The décor is vintage kitchen with old kitchen appliances and vintage tins and packages of various ingredients that would go into their products like milk, sugar, eggs, and flour. There are colorful wooden spoons hanging on all the walls and the affect is very cutesy. Their signature product is build your own ice cream sandwiches. You choose your cookie from six different kinds(one of which was gluten free), then choose the ice cream filling(there were 8 choices, but I had different flavors to choose from than those shown in the Unilocal pictures), and finally you can add toppings(though there is an extra charge for that). I chose fudge cookies and snickers ice cream and the BF chose chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream. Yes, he is something of a purist. An ice cream sandwich costs $ 4 which seems steep until they hand you a delicious ice cream sandwich so thick that you can barely get your mouth open wide enough to fit all the creamy frozen goodness in at once. They bake their cookies fresh daily and the ice cream is locally made. The combination of handmade products using real ingredients like sugar, milk, real butter, and eggs makes for a tasty treat worth the cost. If ice cream sandwiches are not your thing, you CAN order a bowl of ice cream for $ 2.50 or cookies and milk for $ 3.50(yes, they warm up the cookies first), or even get a root beer float. The possibilities are nearly endless, or at least they seem so. This is a fun way to end an evening here in this cute little college town! Great product! Great service! Fun and friendly atmosphere! WINNING!

Poor customer service. Arrived at 8:55. They allowed us to wait in line behind a part of 11, and then they refused to serve us at 9:03 saying they were closed

2 stars fir food. 5 stars for service. My favorite dessert is ice cream sandwich so I had high expectations! There’s nothing like my wife’s homemade, quality ingredients, warm, fresh cookies with good quality ice cream. These here were not. The cookie seemed like it was from one of those toll house pre-made tubs. The ice cream was not rich and creamy. Good idea on a store… I’d love to see the quality improve.

This place was awesome! The kids loved creating their own ice cream sandwiches. It was so good! It was our first time there and I would definitely recommend it.

Ice cream sandwiches was on point! The cookies were fresh and delish. Even though a scoop of ice cream was little, it tasted really good.

Favorite treat in SLO! Love the rotating flavors of ice cream and cookies. Batch Fan Friday promotion that they run on Instagram is awesome too. This place is a little hole in the wall off of Broad Street and always a delight.

Not impressed. Cookies are very thin and ice cream sanwiches are small for price you pay. I’m used to to Cream in Davis ca. Where you get a real thick cookies and ice cream worth money. Batch very disappointing.

My husband brought me here on a date while we were walking around down town SLO with our puppy. The ice cream cookie sandwiches were amazing. One of the best ones I have ever had. Four stars because the girl working that day had an attitude problem.

Oh man, I remember when they first opened Batch! The cookies were huge, the ice cream portions were super generous, and the price! I could be getting confused, but I remember the price being around 3 dollars even. Batch is still one of my go to spots when I’m craving something sweet late night or if someone is coming to visit. Get the cheesecake ice cream whenever it’s offered! AMAZIN’. They are taste wise amazing, but the portions are usually hit or miss. The last time I went, the cookies were perfect but the ice cream in the middle was half the size it was. Literally, like it was cut in half and then given to me. I think that day was just busy or they were running out of that flavor ice cream, it sucks but I’ll be back anyways!

I only purchased cookies from here as I wanted to visit the Doc for more ice cream there(they didn’t have cookies and cream here the day I went so I couldn’t compare, which was the original plan) but the cookies were delicious. We ordered two Fudge and one Oatmeal and they were warm and gooey and just yummy. The place is a small space and you can tell it’s someone making it work and doing a good job at it! I’d come back just to support a small local business in making their dreams a reality! The cookies were good and the service was good. Way to go batch!

Rain or shine. Day or night. You can’t beat a batch ice cream sandwich. Choose your cookies. Made in-house fresh. Want the same cookie on top and bottom? Different cookies? Done. The fudge cookie is crazy good. Now to the ice cream. Made by Batch and frozen into picks the shape of the cookie. Coconut? Fruity pebbles? Chocolate?! Yea of course. Mix and match. $ 4 Yea. $ 4. And to top it off the staff are super cool and really friendly. This palace gets packed in the evenings but they’re open until 10pm so it’s usually all good. It’s not Diddy Reese but is really good. Milk is $ 2 which is highway robbery but if you want milk you’ll pay it. Come for the cookies. Come for the ice cream. Leave with both. You won’t be sorry. Stupid stupid good. Seriously. This is a must visit for out of towners and a must go after a local night of beers.

Killer combos to entice your sweet tooth. They will have you coming again to try something new… Or stick with your favorite pairing, either way you can’t really beat the combination of ice cream and cookies. I recommend the oatmeal cookie with coconut ice cream. I liked that the ice cream was molded in a flattened circular form as it was a bit easier to eat smashed between the two cookies, but it did not taste as fresh as a scoop. We also ordered the chocolate chip cookie with milk and wasn’t crazy about the recipe, and neither was I– too eggy perhaps?

I’m a sucker for sweets, but thankfully Batch did not make me a sucker. It’s a great little dessert shop in downtown SLO, with fantastic ice cream. I had the banana ice cream in an ice cream sandwich, and it was great. I enjoyed a warm summer night just walking downtown with my delicious, post-dinner ice cream sandwich, and I was content with all of life and all the world. Remember to check in to Unilocal if they have a check-in offer!

Omg this is as good as it gets. I’m from the Bay Area which has CREAM all over the place. CREAM is way too sweet and way too overrated(of course, this is all in my humble opinion). I went with a coworker on a Wednesday afternoon and there was no line. The special cookie was the Pumpkin Chocolate Cookie(it’s October, go figure). Batch is similar to most ice cream sandwich places in which you can configure your sandwich in most any way you like. I got the Pumpkin Chocolate Cookie and peanut butter cookie with peach ice cream. Sounds like a weird combination, I know — but it was delicious and refreshing. I probably finished my sandwich in less than 5 minutes. The peach ice cream has real peach bits in it, and for some reason, it just went so well with the pumpkin flavor. My coworker got the same, except an oatmeal cookie instead of a peanut butter cookie, and agreed that the flavors went extremely well together. You can also add sides, such as toffee bits or pretzels for an extra 25 cents. I thought the sandwich tasted great without it though! Definitely have to come here when you’re in SLO. SO. GOOD !!! P. S. Don’t forget to check in for the Unilocal special they have now :) ½ off!

I was a little bummed out to hear their Jack Daniels ice cream was no longer available. That’s the reason why I came back. I did however try a new one, Irish cream. I’m a big fan of Bailey’s cream liquor and I must say it did have a hint of it. Just wish it had a more bigger splash to make the taste pop out. The cookie I chose was fudge, and it was a way to sweet for my liking. I’m hoping by the summer they’ll have Jack Daniels back . Over all, it was good.

DELICIOUS! &SO fun! Randomly went in on a warm day during the week and told the girl running the show we were first timers, she was SO sweet and explained the whole process of customized ice cream sandwiches, had us pick a cookie flavor, an ice cream flavor and a topping. SOAWESOME. We’re in love. Will be back SOON! Customer Service 5⁄5 Ice Cream 5⁄5 Variety 5⁄5 Cons: NONE

Ice cream sandwiches that you can customize? Umm yes. I love to pick a chocolate cookie and a chocolate chip cookies to put on either side of vanilla ice cream. My husband and I usually split one because it’s a big dessert and it satisfies me perfectly!

Potential doesn’t mean shit to me. You’ve either got it or you don’t. Almost doesn’t count. But this place was almost good. At the end of the day, no matter how mediocre, it’s still an ice cream sandwich. However, they freeze the ice cream for their ice cream sandwiches into this hockey puck-like shape, and when you order, they pull out the frozen hockey puck… no telling how long it’s been there. I guess I’m used to fresh small batches of ice cream made daily. LA spoiled the hell out of me. Seeing a pre-made frozen hockey puck like that(made God knows when) kinda disappointed. And the ice cream doesn’t taste as fresh because of this! Freezers do tend to suck the life out of freshness and taste if prolonged. Give us a hand scoop of a fresh batch of homemade ice cream right onto the sandwiches, dude. None of this other stuff. You cutting corners? The presentation of the whole damn place was sorely lacking as well. It looks like you have walked into a shady/disorganized shoe??? shop? Print shop? of some sort with a menu of ice cream sandwiches on the wall. Weird. No ice cream is on display. No cookies are on display. Everything looks kinda shady and hidden. Did you guys even consider presentation when you opened this place? You ain’t selling nothing but«GOODBYE»
