I was referred here for my 4 year old son to have allergy testing done after an allergic reaction to a juicebox & other previous reactions to chemicals in foods. I visited the new office in Pismo & the office is nearly impossible to find. The info on their website and Unilocal and even the front desk person were unhelpful in getting me to the correct place. I was 30 min late due to this. I explained my situation to Dr Kelli Rose, I know my situation isn’t typical, my child isn’t allergic to specific foods such as dairy, berries etc. There’s something IN processed foods that he reacts to. My concern over these ingredients and upcoming vaccines and medical attention needs didn’t seem to warrant much concern on her part, she Subjected my child to 32 skin tests, i requested 8 – 10, and she summed up his previous reactions to viral infections, dismissing my concerns and knowledge of my childs situation like I’m an idiot. Then I received a bill for over $ 350 for tests that I didn’t even want. So Unless you have a true allergy you know of, don’t go here.

This office is amazing! My 4 year old daughter has been seeing Dr. Holzhauer since she was 8 months old for treatment of her chronic asthma. Of all the doctors she’s had to see in her short life, Dr. Holzhauer is by far hers and my favorite. He is one of the few providers that can accommodate her immediately during a bad asthma flare. We have had countless same day appointments with no trouble. Office staff are consistently warm, friendly, and accommodating. He and his staff regularly go above and beyond when it comes to patient care, and making a patient(and parent) feel welcome. My child is always personally greeted and spoiled by Brittany and the other girls at each visit. I am so grateful to have found an amazing doctor(and office staff) for my child on our little central coast.

Terrible experience. First off my appointment was at 3:30– I was put into a freezing cold room at 4:00 and then finally was seen at 4:30. Apparently this is normal as they don’t have enough rooms for the many patients they see. I gave my insurance to the woman at the front desk when I arrived at 3:15 and was not told until AFTER my appointment that my insurance did not cover skin tests. Cost of each skin test was not discussed at any point during my appointment and if I had been told how much they each were I would have asked not to bother finding out if I was allergic to things that I already knew about. In the end I paid $ 650. Thank god I had a credit card there!!! The skin test itself was individual scratch tests where they numbered each scratch on my back with a large blue sharpie number– after they had read the test they did a half-@$$ attempt to wipe off the numbers but I was left with 70 smeared sharpie numbers in blue all over my back. I ended up having to have someone at work scrub down my back with a washcloth and alcohol to get 90% of it off. Not only do I feel that I should have been told earlier than after my appointment that my insurance did not cover everything, I also did not appreciate the mass of ink left on my back. All in all I recommend checking other places and definitely ask what exactly your insurance covers. The staff and the Dr. were nice and in the end I figured out my problem but now I have the problem of paying off a huge bill that I wasn’t quite expecting!

Terrible experience. My appointment was at 2pm and I was still in the waiting room at 4pm because the doctor was running behind(which apparently is normal said one of his staff). When I said I had to leave by 5pm the MA finally put me in a room and I had a half a** visit with the doctor who seemed annoyed that I was in a hurry. Do not go here not worth your time. Just refilled the same RX I’ve been taking for years. Such a joke.
