Ailes blocked by half open boxes. Had to help someone in a wheelchair get through the store because of this. Staff to lazy to help even after asked. NEVER returning.

I know not to expect a lot from this store since the items are so cheap, but be cautious when buying food products here. I bought a couple of Greek yogurt cups. Two were opened, and one had a puncture hole that was taped over… really.

99 Cent Only is what the sign says out on the street But there are many items marked higher like $ 1.99 or $ 2.99 but those items are deals too at that price! You can always find a deal their and the produce is always a bargain at .99 cents each Plus the one little pretty Cashier is very friendly and let’s face it She’s a Hottie! They better give her a raise if they want to keep her. 5 Stars for this Store

Good deals, very large store, and open late! Very friendly and helpful staff. I have had several of them go out of their way to help me and if you’re there late they’re still friendly and polite. As far deals go, just remember to check how much your getting when it comes to food, sometimes per ounce it’s not such a great deal. Also keep your eye out for $ 1.29, $ 1.99, & $ 2.99 stickers which ironically say«99 cents only.»

Some great random stuff for only 99 Cents. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I discovered the hidden treasure of the 99 Cents store when I lived in So-Cal. It is so nice to have one in SLO now(even in a nice neighborhood), which is also next to the Grocery Outlet. It is a bit sad it took the demise of the old Supermarket that was there to create these two places. It is good to hit both and compare some prices, which may be even lower next door. This place in in the middle of the little strip mall, that also has some good food choices(like Phở, Chinese, Italian, Mexican, Pizza, & Sushi). While they have tons of great odds & ends, that you did know that you needed till you see it, their«fresh» produce section looks old & limp. There are some good«junk food» choices in the refrigerators, as well as, great deals on Spices. They also have various canned/packaged goods that can be appealing, but after buying a package of long shelf life mixed veggies, I found the same thing at half the price next door. It is ironic that now that my income jumped so much from when I was a grad student, I now feel oddly weird & guilty shopping here… but can resist these bargain in the pricey SLO area. Both the 99 Cents store & others like it, kind of fill the old vacuum in my heart from the demise of the Woolworth’s chain of stores.

new 99 cent store in san luis obispo, ca biggest and best one i have been too. one older cashier needs customer relations training in male customers. i was demeaned, while the cashier catered to my wife, wishing her a good day, but not me?
