Does this shrimp shack still exist?! If so how do we find out when and where they will be?! They look AMAZING!!! HELP!

Please. Shell. Your shrimp. If it was just the tail, I could live with it. But to leave the shrimp completely shelled at a FOODTRUCK??? It makes no sense to me and others that have tried this truck with me. How should we eat the shrimp? Take two plastic utensils and pray that we can pry the shrimp out? Chew through the shell and spit it out? No, it seems like My Shrimp Shack WANTS us to get completely rekt and disgusting, and peel each shrimp individually. They provide a singular wetnap to get us through the experience. Wtf. I asked a chef friend: «Is there any reason why a restaurant would leave shrimp completely shelled?» His response: «Laziness.» The food here is good(a little pricy)… but the effort involved on the part of the customer to eat it isn’t worth it. I’ll update if I get unshelled shrimp!

Overpriced for average tasting food and very skimpy servings. My bf got the shrimp and rice and thought the seasoning was too salty. It didnt even fill him up. Being exposed to Hawaii shrimp trucks makes it incomparable, they’re just so much better. Not impressed.

Cat and her dad are awesome! I never bother to try any other food truck, because I know I’ll be disappointed. The food is always fresh and the flavor is always consistently great. I always get the spicy shrimp special and I never have to fight with peeling my shrimp, unlike some restaurants that serve up the same style peel n eat shrimp. Everything is fresh to order and comes out fast and hot. Don’t miss an opportunity to try this place the next time you’re eating out. You won’t regret it. #supportyourlocalbusinesses

Yummy yummy yummy! Can across this truck while trying to shop a Pleasanton Mall on Easter Sunday. So impressed with the shrimp bowl, presentation and price. I hope to see them in SF’s financial district sometime!

Delicious shrimp. Could eat the sauce with rice all day. They do also give you a healthy amount of shrimp and they’re super nice. The sauce wasn’t spicy though it was advertised as spicy. But I didn’t mind I liked the flavor a lot. Also found them to be one of the best values/favors from a food truck. I’m going to be honest haven’t been impressed with many but would definitely order from here again.

We love shrimps from Oahu North Shore. Boy, were we excited to see My Shrimp Shack. Our favorite is the spicy shrimps. For 10 dollars you get 8 medium size shrimps and two scoops of white rice. We ask for extra sauce because we simply can’t get enough of it. It’s that delicious. The shrimps are always perfectly cooked and that spicy sauce yumyum, finger-licking good! And«Cat» is always smiling to take your food order.

Ok. I mentioned Myshrimpshack in my other post about the fish taco truck so it’s only fitting that I give the truck a review. Shrimp shack is the truck that got me to change my mind about seafood. I use to hate all seafood. Shrimp Shack changed my mind. Now I can’t stop getting their spicy shrimp over rice. Oh my god it’s like a drug! And the owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. Hands down the best food truck in the Bay Area!!!

I’ve tried just about everything on this truck and everything is delicious! The spicy shrimp special($ 9) is a favorite for most, but the spicy shrimp pasta($ 11) is my favorite. The spicy shrimp special comes with 8 shrimp and 2 scoops of rice. You can ask for extra gravy if you love the sauce. I can’t put a finger on what kind of spices are used to give it that spicy kick, but it’s so delicious. The spicy shrimp pasta also comes with 8 shrimp but with spaghetti pasta. The regular shrimp and rice($ 8), and the shrimp and pasta($ 10) are still delicious choices if you don’t like the spicy kick. The garlic seasoning they use is just as good. The adobo is also another favorite. The chicken adobo is full of flavor and the chicken falls right off the bone. The chicken adobo uses chicken wings and drumsticks. The pork adobo uses chunks of tender pork which is also full of flavor. I prefer the pork adobo since there’s no bone in the meat. Anyhoo, they also have coconut shrimp and lumpia that both come with a sweet chili dipping sauce and are both good as well. Lastly, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is super friendly. And this shrimp is wayyyyy better than giovanni’s in hawaii(in my opinion). This is a food truck you must try! And they need to come to vallejo. ;)

okay I’m addicted. How do I know? Because I let my brother take home the 2nd half of my spicy shrimp over rice from last night and I can’t stop thinking about it. My 3 year old nephew had one piece of shrimp and was asking for more(despite the 4 other different food truck dishes he had in front of him!) It’s cheap, it’s full of flavor, service is friendly. what more can you ask for? well, maybe a mint after eating all that garlic.

I get the Spicy Shrimp Special from the Shrimp Shack every other week in San Leandro. It is SO good that I can’t talk myself into trying anything else! A friend told me the lumpia are delicious as well. The service is friendly and generous, the food is delicious and I have to say this is the best food truck food I’ve ever had. You can find their schedule on their Facebook page:

Went on Tuesday night for San Leandro Street Eats. This was my second chance to eat at this truck and both times the service was friendly. They give you eight shrimp for $ 8 including two scoops of rice which considering what other trucks charge now a days it an okay value. Those comparing it to Giovanni’s or Mackey’s in Hawaii don’t. It’s not the same taste or quality(size of shrimp) but if you need a garlic shrimp fix it will suffice for the bay area. The garlic sauce is not as buttery as those in Hawaii and is really salty for my taste.

Tried this place out for the first time today at San Leandro Street Eats. I was particularly excited about this food truck based on the positive Unilocal reviews and I must say I was disappointed. First off, this establishment doesn’t even come close to Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck in Hawaii. For $ 8, I got 2 scoops of the mushiest white rice I’ve ever had and 8 prawns that lacked any flavor. They skimped on the garlic/seasoning/butter and I was left with measly prawns drenched in cooking oil.

Only 21 reviews ?! Are you kidding? They should have like 1k … This food is amazing! Today I had the Spicy Shrimp and Rice and it was sooo good. My husband went by the food truck where it was parked near Oakland Kaiser. He brought this home and it made me think of my Creole Roots. The shrimp is shell-on so the seasonings hug the meat giving it a great flavor. The rice and there special seasoning is on point. We WILL be following this truck!

Not quite the Kahuku shrimp trucks but it’s the closest that you can find in the Bay. The shrimps itself really isn’t that big so 8 may or may not fill you up depending on your appetite but it is very flavorful and therefore can be a long wait for pickup. I do like how they give you a heads up that it’ll take about 20 min so you can grab some other food and come back vs. just standing there the whole time. Note: Not sure if there is MSG or not though but I was super thirsty after eating it so make sure to bring a bottle of water to go with it.

Spicy Shrimp with butter, garlic and«special spices» over rice for the win! It was some onolicious grindz. We had carefully read though all the reviews before we ventured out to check out the food trucks in San Lorenzo. Yes, the portion wasn’t huge but it was enough as a entrée portion ordered ala carte. We asked for and got extra sauce on our rice. One thing we noticed was that the containers absorbed a lot of the sauce which may be part of the reason why some reviewers found their rice to be dry. We didn’t order anything else from this truck because we like to mix it up with offerings from other trucks but certainly we’ll be back!
