Crivello’s Italian Bistro

What a treat! We stopped for lunch to celebrate my birthday. It was our first visit, but we went with another couple who had been there before. I had the eggplant with pasta and can’t rave enough about it. Our friends had the linguine with clams. Very generous servings and they gave me a free desert for my birthday. We’ll definitely go back again.

I had the Chicken Marsala with a side of vegetables and it was wonderful. The chicken was super tender and the sauce delicious. Also try the dessert! We had a yummy gelato cappuccino and spumoni pie made with pistachio, cherry, and vanilla ice cream. I was not impressed with the bread. That could be much better. Also the gnocchi wasn’t all that special. But I will be back to try other dishes.

$ 15 for a bowl of over cooked spaghetti and zero meatballs in sight? I think not!

We had friends invite us to come to Crivellos a few weeks ago for the first time and WOW! It was fantastic! From the wine to the bread to the wonderful food. And the service was great too.
If you want a quaint little Italian place with great food, you have to try this place.
They even sell their own sauces to go. We bought a jar of their spicy marinara and it is fantastic.
I highly recommend this place for really great Italian food!

Service was excellent. Food is very good. We had the Spaghetti Bolognese with meatballs and the Angel Hair Pomodoro. Wife really liked the Pomodoro. Spaghetti was very good. Location isn’t the nicest but the service and food more than make up for that. We will be back.

The best Italian food I’ve ever had in my life. Sebastian the owner and Chef, keeps an extremely clean restaurant and the service is over the top. The prices are very reasonable and the food like I say is absolutely fantastic I recommend it to everybody. My name is David Demers and I’m from Boston and I’m Italian and I know great Italian food. We are lucky to have Sebastian and his culinary expertise in San Juan Capistrano.

The food is AMAZING. So you have to forgive the ambiance or lack thereof… I recommend that they close the front door while their guests are dining so we can enjoy the AMAZING FOOD set forth sans flies. Its a tight fit indoors but you cant fault them for that. I will be sitting outside where I will enjoy a wonderful view of Marshalls and incoming and outgoing Subway patrons Whom I bet are wishing they were eating what I was they have a neopolitan ice cream Cake desert that is AMAZING as well. BOTTOM LINE IS THE FOOD AMAZING. Did I mention that?

So good! The second time was even better than the first. Ordered chicken melenaise and house salad. Very tasty and the service was excellent. The atmosphere is not the best but the food is off the charts. Try it and you will agree. Enjoy!

Food amazing… best tiramsu. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a great spot and with warm weather the patio is great!

Excellent flavors, honestly one of the better Italian restaurants in area. Located in s shopping center location may not be the best however delicious!

Cozy, great music. If this place was located in a trendy area, there would be an hour wait. Great food, quaint surroundings.
Try the tiramisu.

Came here for lunch for the first time. Dinner is always fantastic… Had the chicken pesto sandwich. Absolutely Delish!

Tried out this restaurant on Sunday. it was amazing! I got the spaghetti Bolognese, and I would highly recommend it. We came back on Tuesday night and again had great food and service. My only hesitation to give this restaurant 5 stars is that more people will start coming and take up restaurant space :) !! Highly recommended!

New favorite Italian place :-)
Hubby and I order take out here and enjoy at home or with friends. Eric always helps us and is very informative and congenial. Our fav is pasta Calabrese with angel hair pasta. The sausage is flavorful, the peppers perfect and the spicy marinara has just the right amount of heat.

Went here the other night on an impromptu night out with my husband and 8 mo old (who was having a good night).
We are new to the area and have been searching for our «go-​to» place for some yummy Italian food. This was it!
We were greeted warmly and promptly seated, and unlike some places, they idea of us having an infant with us didn’t phase them. We decided to sit outside because it was a really nice night out, and we had the heaters turned on so our little one didn’t get cold.
Our server Erik was wonderful. He was very helpful and friendly, and we felt like instant regulars.
I had the frutti di mare and my husband had spaghetti with meatballs. Both were delicious. The seafood in my dish was very fresh, and the sauce was very flavorful without being too heavy or overpowering the fish’s flavor. The meatballs in my husbands dish were perfect and had just enough spice so they weren’t bland hunks of meat. Very tasty!
They also had a wine that I had never seen before that they just got in. I liked it so much I bought a bottle to take home for another time! The only thing my husband wishes is for a better beer selection. Though light beers pair well with Italian, a IPA or something a little more hoppy would be a welcome addition.
Overall really great experience, a nice and friendly local joint, and a yummy place to get a meal.

Came for late dinner on Saturday night and ordered a Caesar salad ravioli and marinara and a glass of Riesling. Overall the salad was very good and the ravioli was good too.
I prefer my raviolis more firm, will try the angel hair pasta next time.
Any tips for desert?

The pasta is so delicious! Come in here often for soup, bread and pasta galore. Tried the cannoli once, wasn’t for me. But great, friendly service and good food.

Had the eggplant parmigiana, the portion is BIG! But the pomodoro sauce had too much seasoning! Too muchhhh Oregano!!! Doesn’t suppose to have oregano in it! Not authentic italian flavor!
I will give it one more chance in the future ordering other dish! Service was very kind! :)

Second time eating at this restaurant and both times have been excellent. They have very good service. The owner is very friendly and inter acts with his customers. The food is amazing. Restaurant is very clean and the staff is very friendly.
