Thanks Martin for finding his profile. I avoided eating anything from this guy for a long time, because it is a guy who pulls up in a van. It is not a food service van, or an ice cream truck type vehicle, it is a straight up full size Ford Econoline. After seeing enough people walk away from him with some great looking grub, I had to try it. I had the ribs, which were $ 5 and pretty good too. They were not overcooked or minuscule either. The sauce was decent, probably Sweet Baby Rays sauce, and the portion was what some restaurants try to sell for more than $ 10. I usually see him near the Caravan or The Blank Club, but I’m sure he frequents many more areas as well. If you happen to see him and your looking for a quick munchies suppressant, than do not hesitate and try something from his van. You’ll be surprised… in a good way.

Every once in a while when your sitting at one of Downtown San Jose’s dive bars(think Caravan or Cinebar), a guy will come in and ask you if you are hungry and want something to eat. You might seem a bit perplexed at first but if you are there when he comes around, ask him what he’s got and then follow him out to his truck and get some really good grinds. He usually has fried chicken, hot links, polish, ribs, pulled pork and some side dishes. Just follow him out to the truck and get your meal in a nice styrofoam container with plenty of napkins. I don’t think he comes around after 10:00 p.m., but if you see him at the bar or on the street, hit him up the food is real good. I think you can get his number so you can call him to find out where he’s at and where his next stop will be.
