This is my first visit and will not be my last. The ambiance, food, and service were all great! We had a large group of about 20 people. The wait staff did a great job ensuring we all were served with expediency and class. The drinks were always full and our waiter ensured he was not far away if there was a request. We started with a couple of their cold and hot combination of appetizers for the table. All the appetizers were delicious, well prepared, and a large amount. The waiter did a great job advising how much would be needed for the table. The main course was fantastic. All members of our party were highly satisfied with the meal. We all also ordered desert. The deserts were also very well prepared and made a nice finish to a great culinary experieice!

High end seafood. Traditional and although pricey, you get what you pay for.(Well for me it was free as our vendor was paying for it). The martini’s were a little on the small side, but that was for the best given it was a work function. The assorted cold plate appetizers was not even close to being as delicious as the warm plate appetizers. The group devoured the latter. I tried the lobster bisque soup and it was just OK… Felt it lacked a little flavor. Best part of the meal was the pan crusted sea bass and I subbed the grilled asparagus for the green beans. Very tender and light. Would order again.

Making a reservation here on a Saturday night was quite easy and I see why. This place has horrible service and crappier food. I felt like my main dish was microwaved. Our waiter only went up to us three times. One, to take our order, two to bring out the starters, and three to get our bill. For the main dishes some other guy came out, but he was so cluless. I would never come back here even if someone paid me. They took ages for the food to come out, but was in such a rush to get the bill. The sad part was there was no excuses for them to take forever since the place looked empty. The plus side was the place looked clean and nice. maybe because no one comes here to eat.

What I tried here, was part of a company buffet, so I figured I’d try everything on the table. As you can gather from their name, they are well known for their seafood. After taking a few bites of the salmon, I wasn’t too impressed. I’m sure there are other great seafood dishes to enjoy here, but the salmon just didn’t do it for me. All of the servers/workers I encountered were not that friendly. I’m not sure if it was a bad night, but everyone seemed to be a little uptight and snooty. Luckily I didn’t have to come out of pocket, as this place is a little pricey! Going back to my meal, the Filet was pretty juicy. It wasn’t cooked the way I like it(medium rare), but I guess you can’t be picky when it is served in a chafing dish! The chicken had great flavor, but it was a bit dry. The best part of my meal was the Boston Clam Chowder and the Warm Molten Chocolate Cake! Would I come back here? Hmmm… maybe one of these days. Based on the service and prices, I’d say there are WAY better alternatives in the Bay!

Stopped in for dinner, had the halibut, it was to die for! Cooked perfectly, seasoned to perfection. Ordered the baconated brussel sprouts. They put capers in the brussel sprouts, never seen it before and it should be a standard. Great selection of bourbon, whiskey and scotch.

My family made a reservation on New Year’s Eve for 4 people at 9pm for my brother’s birthday. **We had to wait nearly half an hour to get our table, with a reservation.** An establishment such as Scotts should have foreseen and kept our table open for our reservation. Our server Annie was very attentive and just great with her service. She earned every cent of her over $ 40 tip. She kept my parents coffee cups full. We did think that the birthday dessert was complimentary but it was actually $ 7, oh well. My brother got his candle haha. For drinks, we had coffee, water, Blueberry Lemondrop cocktail and a Moscow mule, all were fine/delicious. We ordered the Verlasso salmon, seared ahi tuna, the mahi-mahi, and the Honduras lobster tail. All the dishes were delicious, but **the lobster tail was under cooked.** The top was overcooked, the middle was perfect, and the bottom was so undercooked it was translucent and very stuck to the shell. For what we’re paying, an $ 80 tail, you could at least do the beautiful lobster some justice and cook it thoroughly. We’re not picky folks, but an honored reservation and well-prepared meal shouldn’t be a compromised thing. Especially when we’re shelling out $$$.

The boo made reservations online for 6:45pm(required cc info and cancellation within 24 hours would be $ 20/person). I wanted to change it to a later time because I didn’t think we could make the 6:45pm and when we called in, they said we never had a reservation for that time, but they were able to make one for us at 7:30pm instead. They said that they no longer used Unilocal for reservations, but when we came in for our 7:30pm reservation they told us that we had one originally at 6:45pm. what? I thought that one didn’t go through? Not sure what happened with that, but we were still able to get outdoor seating on the rooftop just as planned for our New Year’s Eve dinner. The hostess warned us that it would be cold outside at first and it was, but thankfully they had heaters all over the place. Kept us warm and cozy for the whole dinner. Dinner on a rooftop with lights over us and a view of the city, yeah, it was pretty romantic alright. We started off with the steamed manila clams which were swimming in a garlic wine sauce. I’m not a huge fan of clams, so going on HIS review of them. they were very fresh and great as appetizers. I personally didn’t like them… I wanted mussels, hahaha. We also shared a cup of lobster bisque which was really yummy! He ordered the cioppino(prawns, scallops, mussels, crab, fresh fish, garlic bread) which was a bunch of seafood in tomato broth. The broth was really really good! I ordered the mahi mahi which came with coconut rice and was topped w/a tropical salsa. Tropical meaning mango, kiwi, and strawberry! At first, I thought the mahi mahi paired really well with the coconut rice, but it got a little sweet when I had too much of it. Would’ve loved it a lot more with mashed potatoes or regular steamed rice! Cutesy place on top of a roof. Free 3 hour validation as well if you park in the parking lot! Happy New Year!!! :)

Made reservations online and via phone to what seemed like it would be PACKED on New Years eve… It wasn’t too bad at all. Online reservations required credit card info and states that cancellation within 24 hours would be $ 20 charge per person. Also called in to make some small adjustments in terms of the time but upon arrival… they seemed to left it at the time booked originally. Was still able to be seated immediately on the rooftop patio. The patio seemed really cold at first but the heaters all around really did help warm up the surroundings. I think one of the reasons that i chose this spot was the romantic lit rooftop patio setting. In terms of the food itself… the selection of seafood was plenty. Ended up getting the lobster bisque and steamed clams in wine sauce for appetizers. and mahi mahi plate for my lady while i got the scott’s Ciopinno which was an assorted seafood platter. Lobster bisque– Tasted really good for an opening appetizer. flavorful and great way to warm into the entrees Steamed Clams in wine sauce– Tasted like FRESH clams… in a well balanced wine sauce also great as appetizers Mahi Mahi — FRESH fish fillets with rice and veggies… Probably would have tasted better if it came with mash potatoes Scott’s Ciopinno — variety of seafood pieces ranging from mussels, clams, crab, fish fillet and bread. GREAT if you like like an assorted platter of seafood Overall… Romantic spot in the heart of san jose FANTASTIC for dates and seafood lovers! Free 3 hour parking validation as well! Happy New Year everyone !!

Rooftop patio! It had a modern and cozy atmosphere with warm light bulbs strung overhead, LED lit bar and space heaters blasting. The food was pretty good. We shared bacon-wrapped scallops, lamb chops, steak sliders and octopus. The octopus was surprisingly tender. Bacon-wrapped scallops were on-point. Tender and flavorful. Lamb chops were cooked well done, not gamey, but pretty bland. They could have used more salt and pepper. I was kinda impressed with the sliders as I expected ground beef, not a piece of steak! Ermahgerd. So fancy. The bun was meh. Scott’s validated the $ 7.00 parking in the adjacent Cityview parking structure. Pretty good if you’re tired of circling around downtown for free street parking. Your woman will thank you. Let’s just eat, already!!!

Alright Scott, I have a lot to say for you. First off, the goods. It’s a very nice location. On the 6th floor over looking downtown SJ. Nice bar area and great for private parties. The menu offers a variety of seafood dishes that are very appealing. There is also a good selection of wines to pair with your meals. My family and I decided to come here about a week ago. It was out of the blue but after reading a few reviews from Unilocal,we were convinced to come here. Now, we weren’t dressed too fancy. We were just dressed nicely, just not as nice as some of the other guest there. There was a few parties being held at the time when we came. The wait wasn’t long, about 5 minutes and we were seated. I was super excited to look at the menu and order. Our server walked by and asked us what we wanted to drink, we haven’t looked at the menu yet so we just asked for water. Our server left and another server brought out five glasses of water. We took several minutes to look at the menu but finally to order. It took awhile to flag down our server again. My brother in law ordered the steak and I ordered the Prawn mushroom ravioli. I also ordered two kids item from the kids menu for my nieces. They had the fried shrimp and the grilled cheese. My sister had a few questions about the dish she wanted and when she asked our server, he didn’t quite answer her question. He seemed really rushed and after my sister told him what she wanted, he just left. He never asked whether or not my nieces wanted to have milk or juice with their meal. I totally understand that the place was swamp because of the other parties, but I definitely feel as though we were not treated fairly. Our server disappeared and never came by to refill our water. He never offered us bread to munch on while we waited for our dinner. And it was a very long wait. Of course we were impatient because the kids where hungry. Every time our server walked by he never made eye contact with us, he never stopped at our table. But it’s funny to see him stopping at other tables, serving them bread, asking them how they were doing. When our food came out, he quickly set the food down and left again. He had forgotten about the milk that comes with the kids’ meals. I had to flag down another waiter and ask about it. Five minutes later, our server came by and was like«they want milk, okay.» His tone was not very nice at all. I was not very happy and it really ruined my experience at Scott’s. It was like that for the remainder of our dinner. He was very short with us and he never came by to ask how we were doing. Now that’s a first for me. For a restaurant like Scott’s I was expecting an excellent service from them. But I was very disappointed. I didn’t want to stay a minute longer. It’s going to take a lot to convince me to come back here. I’m hoping that our server was just having a bad day and that he does not treat other people like how he treated us because that would suck. :(

Was here for a friend’s birthday dinner on a Saturday night, was surprised to find the place VERY empty… The patio area is SUPER awesome, would totally come here for drinks at night! The food… I could see how some people would like it, but this spicy Indian found the food here bland across the board :/ I had the paella which was subpar for a seafood restaurant, but yes, I did order paella at not-a-Spanish restaurant. And yes, that was my bad. Also had the seafood angel hair pasta. This too had no flavor. Womp womp :’( I will add though, the service was excellent and they have this gigantic fireplace wall which kept me nice and toasty on a cold night!

I very much enjoyed date night at Scott’s. The night was cold so we did not go out on the deck. They often have private parties renting that area out. Wonderful service, with a very knowledgeable staff. Cioppino was amazing and so was the warm french bread that came out to the table. I wish we had saved room for dessert but, no luck. All and all, a great date restaurant with a nice view of downtown. Or an impressive happy hour to take clients.

I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday Friday evening and we dined on the patio. What a beautiful evening and ambience! We enjoyed our ribeye steak dinner and a drink. You can look out at the city lights from the rooftop and take in the view of downtown. The service was great and they even brought my sweetie a beautiful birthday dessert in a martini glasss with a candle. We shared and it was delicious with fresh raspberry sauce on the bottom and ice cream with some other nice sauce and whipped cream. Easy and validated parking(regularly 7 dollars), and great outdoor and indoor atmosphere.

I understand why this place had such a low-rating. Scott’s, if you want serious improvement, I highly suggest reading this. TL;DR version: — mediocre food; tasted like it was microwaveable — horrible service — noisy because of nearby airport — expensive food, bad quality — ticket can be validated at the restaurant — 1% chance of coming back There’s a public parking garage where you could park and have your ticket validated at the restaurant. After parking, we went up the 6th floor and was greeted by the host who told us we could sit in the patio. My friend and I decided to sit facing the city buildings. Our server was very friendly and gave us the menu as well as this other menu since we had a free late night snack here. FOOD: We ordered the Dungeness crab sandwich, calamari, and molten cake desert. Dungeness crab sandwich: 1⁄5 — it tasted like tuna salad. It was nothing special. You could probably make this at home. Calamari: 3⁄5 — this came out in generous proportion. It tasted kind of bland but luckily we were given lemon slices along with it. I highly suggest squeezing it over the calamari. Molten cake desert: 1⁄5 — I was expecting the ice cream to be ONTOP of the cake. The cake tasted like it was microwaved. SERVICE: Yes, our server was friendly, but the service here was HORRIBLE. No refills on our drink and had to wait more than 20 minutes for our check. Actually, it never came; we had to go up there to get our check. I also felt like our service was shitty(if this is a regular practice, shittier is a better word) because we looked younger and the older patrons seemed like they we’re given priority. FYI: 1. If you don’t mind having low flying airplanes soaring above you(since San Jose airport is nearby) and disrupting conversations, this would be ideal. 2. It was kind of chilly so they had the outdoor heaters on. One heater had low oil which was producing a high-frequency noise which was super annoying. Never turned off during our whole visit. SUGGESTIONS: #1 The food here and the price you pay doesn’t correlate with the quality of the food. You could either lower your price or increase the quality of the food. #2 Work on customer service. It was probably one of the worst service I’ve ever encountered. Would I come back here? Highly doubt it. Would I recommend this to a friend? No, in fact, I was embarrassed I took my friend here…

We went here for a Contra Costa Realtor event so it was a set menu. I picked the clam chowder which was rich, thick and creamy. My entrée was salmon with Beurre Blanc sauce. The salmon was flaky and fresh but the flavor was ok. For dessert I chose the molten lava cake. It was gooey, chocolaty and yummy! I felt that the service was slightly lacking. I think they should have had a few more servers for the crowd. Again, food was good and average.

Seriously this place is pretty cool! I love the rooftop! You can see the view of the city and I felt like I wasn’t in San Jose, but some chic, cool city(not that SJ isn’t cool). I just absolutely loved the atmosphere! I had the Seafood Paella and my gf had the Seafood Cioppino. Both were very good, but I just wish my Paella was seasoned a bit better. I added a lot of salt, but it was missing some flavor. For drinks I had the Mango/Passion Fruit Mojito and my friend had the Black Pearl Margarita. Both were really delish! I wish I was in SJ more so I could make this my regular spot.

This is a review for their rooftop lounge only. I had never been to Scott’s in San Jose(I’ve been to the Oakland location a few times) and just noticed this summer that they have a rooftop lounge area. For some reason it kept showing up on my Facebook feed. After an Earthquakes game last Friday, my bestie and I decided to stop by to grab a drink since I wanted to check out the space and it was a nice night out. The location itself is beautiful — inside the restaurant and out. Service and drinks were okay, however, the rooftop lounge itself is worth coming for since there’s not many places in the area like this. Just be prepared to pay lots for okay service/product!

Came by for Happy Hour the other day on their roof-top bar. They do have numerous drink and food specials. The highlight of the experience was the view of Downtown San Jose from the rooftop garage. Service was okay with live music in the background. Food quality was mediocre… seemed half a notch higher than typical chain food…

For our 2 year anniversary, my wonderful hubby made reservations here at 7 pm on a Sunday night. Considering it was Memorial weekend, the restaurant wasn’t too crowded so we got our pick of where we would like to sit. Upon arrival to the 6th floor of the building of where Scott’s Seafood is located, the host politely asked our preference of inside or outside, and as soon as we said outside on the patio, they turned on the heat lamps and ensured that we were comfortable. While the view wasn’t the best that we’ve ever seen, the deck was nicely decorated and roomy enough to walk around and look out from the terrace. The strings of little bauble lights above the seating area were a cute touch. While we didn’t get our server’s name, we were definitely very pleased with his service for it was friendly, inviting, and certainly helpful. He engaged in conversation and at the same time gave us the privacy we liked. A plus for that. For an appetizer, we ordered the jumbo wrapped prawns that came with a delectable tangy sauce that we couldn’t get enough of. There were only four pieces on the plate and we went through them quite fast. It was a great start to the meal. For our entrees, my hubby ordered the Parmesan crusted sea bass and I the blackened ahi tuna. We both enjoyed our dishes immensely: vibrant in flavor, perfectly tender fish, and 100% delicious. We also ordered a side of the mushroom risotto and that was equally amazing. The taste was more on the complex side with more ingredients than a typical risotto such as having tomatoes, leafy greens, and asparagus, but none of the flavors ever over powered each other so that was nice. Unfortunately, we were so full from our lovely dinner that we didn’t have any room to order dessert. But hopefully we can do so another time! So all in all, Scott’s Seafood is an amazing place to take your date to a more fancy and classy dinner. With wonderful service and incredibly scrumptious food, this is a restaurant you definitely want to try.

Scott’s Seafood was the place I chose for dinner for Mother’s Day this year. Originally my mom did say she wanted Komé, but I wanted something a bit classier for such a special occasion. :) Even though I had made reservations on OpenTable, we still had to wait about 15mins before we were seated. Doesn’t quite make sense since they have a good deal of open tables. If it was warmer, the seating outside would be lovely cause you get the view of the city & it’s decked out in twinkly lights with neat lighting & fireplace, but it was a bit too cold even with the heat lamps. Food was pretty great. But the most memorable item: the bread was nomtastic cause it was soft on the inside & crunchy on the outside while still hot like fresh baked! So good! Prob the best complimentary bread I’ve ever had. Honestly. Service was alright. I had to flag our waiter down for stuff. Look of the place is pretty classy yet still casual. Parking. you can park in the garage & get validated for free parking. I would come back again. Hopefully when it’s warmer so I can enjoy the outdoor dining next time. :)
