Zero stars for the chicken tandoori… HORRIBLE is the word… Better go hungry than eating this dish here. Btw… Their samosas’ are 5*(no questions there) just don’t order tandoori.(I bet you’ll regret it)

This review is speaking from my first time here. Ordered vegetables samosas and they were great! The samosas can be ordered as 2 or 10 per order. I ordered 4 samosas and total came out to a little over $ 4. They are definitely filling as a snack and very creamy. I called my order in and it was ready in less than 10 minutes. They also sell sweets and other Indian plate entrees in which I have yet to try. Definitely coming back to try more.

Really good sweets and mango lassi. Probably one of the best places in Bay Area for sweets. They have lunch buffet for 6.95. Food very affordable here. Really clean restaurant. Food here not good… took away 1 star for that. Sweets are definitely the thing here.

First time ordering Indian Food. When I walked in I was a little confused because it didn’t seem like they served Entrees at all. Instead there’s a whole bunch of sweets and desserts laid out on a counter. I guess people fill their boxes with whatever goodies they want and then pay by the pound? Not sure. Some of the stuff looked really good but unfortunately No Free Samples. What a shame because I’m sure if I liked something I would’ve bought it. Also, not too sure on how long all this stuff is just sitting out in the open. I went to the register and there’s paper menus on their actual food. Very weird that they don’t have a bigger display of it.(Maybe their primary focus is the desserts?) Ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Makhanwala with Naan. The lady at the cashier was nice. I was doing take-out and she let me know I could order over the phone. Definitely would do that next time even if the wait wasn’t that long.(About 15 minutes) The food was Delicious!!! I prefer the Tikka Masala, but the Chicken Makhanwala was good too! My only gripe was the Tikka Masala hardly had any chicken!!! HARDLY! :(The Naan was good as well, being this is only the 2nd time I’ve had Naan it sure tasted better than the first. I spent about $ 10 for both orders being that I had a 50% off coupon. I thought that was a good price. But $ 20 for both seems a little more on the pricier side especially with the lack of meat.

Rating 5 stars for samosas. They are really good, of right size, made fresh and only cost 75c each.

I have ordered food for take-out several times and it’s always been very good. I hadn’t been here for several months, maybe a year. I was really disappointed in nearly everything I ordered for my family. I ordered sag paneer, which was really watered down. The cheese cubes didn’t taste fresh as they did before. I ordered chicken tikka masala medium spiced and butter chicken with mild spice. They reversed the two so I ate my husband’s dish and he ate mine. Although I should have remembered that their poppadoms are always brown and burnt tasting, I forgot until I opened the order at home and saw they were very brown. They didn’t include any dipping sauces as one usually gets. Also, the plain naan was very tasteless and was so tough to chew it hurt my teeth and I spit it out! Not sure what is going on here, but someone is either trying to save money or is not paying attention to the cooking of the dishes. However, the chicken tikka masala and the tandoori chicken were very good and fresh tasting. The people are cordial, but not friendly I have found. So I have come to expect that. I’m not sure I will be back because our craving for great Indian food was not satisfied at all.

We were in a hurry plus didn’t want to drive far so ended up ordering take out from this place. We ordered samosa plate, vegetable pakoda and chicken biryani. The chicken biryani was terrible. Seems like it was cooked by someone who ended up mixing already cooked rice with chicken as it tasted nothing like chicken biryani. The service is not that great either as the owner gentleman was not very pleasant and came across rude.

I’ve eaten here so many times and I freaking love it. Not sure what the dish is called but it’s garbanzos with jalepeno and onion served with this yummy greasy fried naan and it’s THE bomb

My family resorts to this place when we are in a hurry to buy indian sweets because it is close to where we live. However, I have noticed that the last few times we bought sweets from this place, they were already rotten or had a funny/unfamiliar taste. My mom even mentioned this to the owners, but they just replied with an «oh…» I dont know about the rest of their food, but buy your sweets from another place!

The food has been sometimes good but mostly it has been dissapointing because I think the food they give out is cooked long time ago before serving.

This is at the best 2 star quality food. Stale papri chat, tasted awful; Chana bataoora had uncooked Chana, too much oil in the pooris.

*Before I start this review, I just want to make it a point that when I pre-order I like to be in and out & on my way home to enjoy my food, not have to wait around* Went here last night to grab dinner since I was craving Indian & haven’t had it in awhile. First off, I called in my order and the lady who had a very thick Indian Accent was very rude and hung up before I was done finishing my order. I ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala w/Naan and I asked her this before we hung up. She said yes. But I get there, and she’s still on the phone while a kid is behind the counter helping some Indian couple who seemed to be ordering up the whole store… and my order was sitting there so I went to try and pay for it. It took about a few minutes before a gentlemen w/a turban came and helped me. I was super hungry so I didn’t check the bag and just assumed it was going to have my tikka masala and naan in there and it’s not like they were super busy — well, WRONG. I got home and of course, they had included rice when I had specifically requested Naan. Also, there was barely any chicken in my tikka masala which was disappointing. It didn’t taste as good as when we had it before… and I also found a hair in the curry. If a place is not CONSISTENT w/quality then I’m sorry but you just lost a customer. It’s not like they’re all that busy to begin with but seriously, no room for excuses or lousy service! Especially small businesses like this — get your act together.

I usually come here to get Indian sweets. I came to get some tonight only to see flies inside their refrigerator on top of the sweets. So gross. I walked back out so fast.

I LOVERAJPALACE! I am not indian, so maybe I don’t have that taste for what is good indian food and what isn’t, but I’ve been eating indian food since forever, so I have a good idea what is considered good or not. Their food isn’t the best, but with their prices? Definitely a steal. I always get my favorites — Palak Paneer, Malai Kofta, Veggie Samosas, and Garlic Naan. MMMMM! Palak Paneer: A bit more runny than other palak paneers that I’ve tried. The flavor is also a bit less strong. Malai Kofta: My personal favorite here! It’s super creamy and delicious. Veggie Samosas: ONLY75CENTSEACH? WHAAAT?! AAAANDIT’S GOOD? ahhhhhh!!! Garlic Naan: SO. MUCH. GARLIC. HEAVEN. Plus, it’s cheap. hehhehe. Once, the kind young man gave me a free sample of one of their wide range of snacks. I have NO idea what is was, but it was delicious. Crispy fried flour or something. Dunno, it looks like fritos but a little bigger. and better. Well this is ironic: I am typing up this review when my mom comes home from a long day, and tells me to order indian food because she’s too tired to cook. Look at the time: 9:40pm. Closes at 10. Ohhh crap. Quickly call them up: me: «hi, is it too late to order to-go?» man: «nope, go ahead» How nice :)) This my FAVORITEINDIANRESTAURANTEVERANDTHEYDESERVEATLEAST4STARS. They also sell deserts which I am too hesitant to try. Haha BRB: PICKINGUPTHEBESTDINNER I’M GOINGTOHAVETHISWEEK.

I used to be one of those«Ugh! Indian food? GROSS». A very good friend of mine is Punjabi, and he even took me to HIS favorite place(I wish I could remember what it was called… meh) and I was still not impressed. Finally, my darling brought me here. Again, I was in no mood at all to try anything even remotely close to indian food. What used to get me was the intensity of how the foods smelled, let alone get passed the spices they used. I decided to just say screw it and give it a try again… Then POW! Just like that, I was hooked. I don’t know what converted me, but I’m pretty damn sure Raj Palace was the reason. I had their Butter Chicken, Chicken Teeka Masala, Tandoori Chicken, Sag Paneer, and their pakora… the list goes on! But anyway, all i’m trying to really say is that I love Raj Palace and the service is absolutely friendly. Their Food is OUTSTANDING. They pretty much know it’s me when I phone in an order because i’m the weirdo who orders the Butter chicken with Paneer added(Highly Recommended) Come here and get your tastebuds blown.
