Not sure if this guy is a good Doctor. Actually I am not sure if anyone knows because no one in the front office answers the phone. I have made about 15 attempts to schedule an appointment with them over the last 6 months and have yet to get anyone on the phone. I left voice messages but none were ever called.

I saw Dr. Peterson for the first time in April 2015. He was really nice and spent a lot of time with me. I feel like he would have been a doctor to keep, but someone on his staff was extremely rude. I called to inquire about a bill I received. I was put on hold for a long time and finally given to Steven in billing. He treated me like I was an idiot. He pretended he did not hear me and kept repeating the same statement«hi, this is Steven from billing, how may I help you?» he said that 3 times. When I finally asked him if he was hearing me he said«yes, why don’t you tell me why you are calling!» I told him three times I was calling about a question with my bill. Finally I let him know that his game was going to cost the doctor a patient because I would be looking for a new doctor that had more professional staff. That got his attention, he rudely apologized, but definitely too late.

Dr. Peterson is as good as they come. I have been seeing him for more than a decade. I have had some really odd issues to deal with, including some bizarre conditions resulting from my years working in developing countries, and Dr. Peterson has sorted them out nicely. He takes his time to understand what is going on before he starts any treatment(and yes, he takes the time to read test results, prior notes, etc. — that is a REALLY good thing). His quiet confidence and patience working through complex issues is very refreshing. I especially appreciate that he actually listens to what I say — my last doctor was too busy trying to follow«the book» and keep visits super short to actually listen. He is great to consider other medical issues I have(outside his specialty) and he coordinates with other physicians. I really appreciate that he often gives me treatment options — he explains the options and recommendations and lets me decide. If I don’t choose what he recommends, he is great at supporting my choice. My only concerns are(1) front office is not always very friendly, and(2) it can be really hard to get an appointment. I guess he is very popular.

Dr. Peterson does not have a good bedside manner. He has little personality and is not friendly. I left like a medical study rather then a person and he approaches diabetes by the book, not considering how life affects it. During my first appointment with him he did not speak to me for five minutes while he reviewed my file. The only reason I am still with him is because I haven’t found anyone better.

Pros –Nice clerical staff –Dr is attentive in session, will explain physiology –Wants to see his patients more that 2x a year Cons –Fill in Dr, while Dr Peterson was away, was negligent(could be one of the partners Josel Cabaccan?) –Fill in Dr was not interested in making an emergency appointment(just to assess current symptoms) He blindly increased meds –Dr Peterson was not responsive in addressing the problem with the replacement doctor, which I think proves him to also be negligent –Sees patients every 2 months, other doctors view this as excessive Suggestion: You can find someone more responsible. Disclaimer: This was my experience, it does not represent the overall competence of the doctor or the experience of other patients.
