You should seriously check out their health and safety reports.

I have absolutely NO idea what I just walked into. A giant plant was right inside the entrance of the door, appearing to «block» the entrance. I had to question if they were even open. As soon as I stepped inside there was a card game going on at one table and what looked like slot machines at the further end. Coffee shop or casino? Idk… That isn’t what bothered me. The reason I left as quickly as I entered was because of the fact that I was immediately slammed with the smell of cigarette smoke. Disgusting in a public place in which food is served. Apparently the entire gambling table and ownership are above the law. I won’t be back to even give this place a shot.

Giving this place 1 star is me being generous. OMG this place is an absolute JOKE!!! I Happened to drop in to use their ATM machine and i figured it would be appropriate to order something from their menu, so I ordered a traditional avocado shake. I literally saw the waitress took a frozen avocado shake from a freezer and microwave it so it wouldn’t be as frozen. Never in my entire life have I seen an avocado shake being microwaved. I was literally shocked. The waitress must have mistaken avocado shake from guacamole or something. Unreal!!! I paid for my order but I was curious and asked her why she microwaved a shake. She was embarrassed to answer and surprised that I saw her. I grabbed the shake and threw it in the nearest garbage can and walked out. The place was literally empty. Who knows how long that avocado shake was left inside a freezer. Traditionally it is made from fresh fruit and is blended at the time when we order.

PARISCAFE Vietnamese coffee shop that only offers drinks and no food. Sizeable café with some nice décor(that doesn’t remind me of Paris), but the server(ice) was kinda weak.

Thoroughly underwhelming. I stopped by for an after-dinner coffee drink on a weeknight, and the scantily clad waitress and her two ‘regulars’ seemed astonished that a customer was actually coming in for business. After explaining that there was no menu, she said they had black coffee, iced coffee, and Mocha. «Like a Mocha latte?» I asked. «No, more like hot chocolate.» Not exactly impressed with my choices, I ordered the iced coffee. I jumped online to finish up some work-releated emails, and she brought me my iced coffee, which wasn’t too bad. Then she cranked up the house music, some techno-dance-hiphop noise that didn’t really fit the ambiance you might expect in a coffee shop/café, but maybe that was the point. Ten minutes later, I was ready to leave. They don’t accept plastic, but luckily I had a 20 dollar bill. She asked if I had anything smaller. When I said no, she gave me my change in the form of a stack of ones. From the contents of the register, I guess they weren’t expecting to actually do business that night. Maybe this place is happening on the weekends, but I won’t be coming back to find out.

the last reviewer wasnt lying, their black coffee is strong. i came here to visit a friend that was working. it wasnt too busy for a coffee shop on a sunday morning. the interior was decorated nicely and of course the staff was nice cause i knew them! thats a plus haha. there was only 2 mega touches that i could see and they were not the newest ones. overall this place is ok.

I have to say don’t often go to these places, but Paris Café have taken the tradition Vietnamese coffee to a different level. I had the traditional black Vietnamese coffee, quite strong, but just the way I like it. If you like strong coffee to start your day off or just to hang back and chill, definitely hit this place up. Inside is clean, you can tell by just looking from the outside. They have an out door area on the side for smoker, which says that they follow regulation(unlike a lot of other Vietnamese coffee houses). Walking into the bathroom confirm it all(very clean). I hear they serve food, but not very much, just have to ask what they have. Might have to try it out next time. All in all not a bad place to hang out with some friends, watch foot ball(or any sports for that matter). Free Wi-fi for you facbook/myspace/twitter-holic.

Really more of a three stars, and I’d like to revisit if in the area. Place wasn’t very crowded on a mid-Saturday, as there was only one waitress plus, I think, the owner. The only item I tried was the black coffee and it was strong… it sure seemed strong even after having coffees at other VNese cafes. The comp tea was ok, kind of watered down but I didn’t mind. Located inside a shopping square, albeit within one that was not mainly VNese and Asian businesses(there’s a 24-hr Fitness nearby, which is quite useful for hitting the gym beforehand). Not easy for NorBayers to get to, so hoping they do good business.
