Papa John’s Pizza

Parking is a bit tight, but the pizza is pretty good.

Papa John’s brings back memories of college days. Mostly it was the large pizzas that were a good bargain for college students on a budget. $ 10 for a large and buy one get one free offers were weekly deals.
For this location, I was greeted when I walked in. Relayed an online order that I placed and received the pizza within minutes. Thin crust is a solid 4 stars. Basic pepperoni.
Pros: Nice welcome and accommodating. Thin crust. Online orders are easy.
Cons: They don’t have plates, forks, or knives available. No tables to eat in.

This is about online order # 391 443 917, placed in Dec. 7^th 2015 @ 11am. I ordered one extra large pizza delivery with 5 toppings for my wife, but a wrong pizza was delivered (one pepperoni topping pizza). Delivery took 2 hours while confirmation email said 30−40min. My wife even had to call and ask for delivery. I came back home from work and looked at leftover and realized that it was only pepperoni pizza. My wife received without knowing what I ordered. I called, and a staff called Aldrin (?) said I should bring the whole pizza to the store for exchange. Is that a joke? What is the point for delivery order? I also clearly mentioned that it was ordered 7 hours ago and I got to know wrong delivery after seeing the leftover. I need sincere apology from the store and money back. You can ignore and think you will lose only one regular customer. It may be true but I will post it on all SNSs.

The owner called me to apologize for my experience and offered a couple of free pizzas in compensation, and also assured me the problem wouldn’t happen again. His response was gracious and as much as one could hope for from a reputable restaurant, so I’m glad to be able to recommend Papa John’s, and will surely order from them again!

placed an order online for pick up for a medium «the works» pizza which totaled $ 20. go inside to pick up & i see an ad for a large the works pizza for $ 12 if you take out. so i asked why wasnt this price advertised when i placed my order online & they said something like «oh thats corporates mistake this ad varies from store to store.» long story short i paid more than what the mediocre pizza was worth all because their website wasn’t updated. i wont be back.

I’ve had good Papa John’s, and this place falls short on its toppings living up to its corporate image of using better ingredients. Maybe they are better, I shouldn’t need a microscope to find them, as that takes away from the experience of them.
I suspect this is specific to location/​management and bet if Papa John’s performed a quality audit of this place, they would get told to improve to a corporate level of standards.

This review is mainly on their delivery service. Tonight I placed an order for delivery using their online system. The response said the expected delivery was approximately 55 – 65 minutes. After 80 minutes I called the store and was told it should be there in 10 minutes and that the person would call the driver then call me back to confirm. After 15 minutes, no pizza and no phone call. I had to call yet again only to be told it would be another 5 minutes. So, overall an hour and forty minutes on a Monday night. After it was 20 minutes late, I already had to cook dinner for my daughter since the pizza would not arrive in time for her to eat and get to bed on time.
The driver said they were busy, but that is no excuse for not setting the correct expectations up front of the time, nor is it an excuse for being told someone would call back and then receiving no phone call. Poor service in my opinion. For the trouble I was given a credit for the next order, which I will give them credit for… but I would rather have had better service up front.
Update: I reduced the rating to 1 star since when I called back in to use the credit, they apparently did not put it on the account, and would not honor it. Ordering from Domino’s tonight instead.

Hand tossed veggie deluxe pan pizza is to die for. I used to be a Pizza Hut fan but then I hadn’t tried the papa John’s yet. They’d have an amazing staff on front and are always on top of their game. Oh also get their wings they are super moist too.
Unfortunately they don’t have a delivery to where I stay so have to pick up always — hope they add the my address in future.

I never wrote a review to any restaurant I was so lazy to do that, but this one deserves. Staff working here are so lovable and also the store looks hygienic. The pizza was also well organized and tastes perfect.

I was traveling from Tennessee and I stayed in San Jose for couple of days I was so hungry so I called papa johns at the alameda the one who took the call was so nice he told about their promotions and he was so patient and I ordered for delivery. I got my pizza within the estimated time and the pizza looked perfect. I’m a huge pizza lover so I’m pretty sure to say this the pizza looked perfect the crust was as it should be the toppings were perfectly distributed and the pizza was perfectly done. Am so happy for the perfect service and taste.

This place is disgusting! I placed an online order for delivery at 10.40 and it’s 12.40 midnight now and still no delivery! I called several times and was told each time that the order is on the way. But nada! They have charged my credit card but no pizza was delivered. Now the guy at the store won’t pick calls. This place is the most unprofessional, disgusting place.

Got diarrhea.
I really wanted to leave the review to just that. But to clarify 3 out of 4 got diarrhea and the lucky one only had one slice. Yours truly got the worst of it. I’ll spare you the details beyond that.

Once upon a time, Papa John’s used to be a good alternative to other pizza places. Unfortunately though, over time it has gotten more expensive and mediocre. The delivery fee is $ 4.50 now and each delivery is constantly late anywhere from 10 – 20 minutes. I feel bad for the drivers because you know they are loaded with deliveries and will never get them delivered in the «estimated» time. And then when you’ve waited 45 – 60 minutes, they arrive with what used to be pizza and now resembles lukewarm cardboard with some type of plastic cheese. Save your money… Find something else.
The only reason I’m giving them two stars is for their delivery drivers — they’ve always been super nice and very apologetic.
