Well, this place just opened its doors at this location, exactly where the Calvins Philly cheesesteaks used to be for a brief period of time.(R.I.P. Calvins). Ok, this place seems like a nice alternative to the variety of food available in this area where we have Slider’s burgers and El Papucho. Now, I don’t know if my bad experience here is just because they’re too new or what, but here are the facts: First, I had the wun-tun sup with noodles and BBQ pork. The Pork was delicious have to say, the soup was decent *(the broth hot and spicy) but the amount of wun-tuns(Seriously, only 5 tiny wun-tuns???) and like, 3 lbs of noodles made this humongous soup an un-edible monster. Think I left like 60% of the noodles in the bowl. Now, I love potstickers. They had 4 potstickers left in the steam table and I grabbed them: OMG, they were awful. Stale and hard as a rock.(I gotta say tho, they could be useful as self-defense weapons in case a flock of Ninjas invaded the place while we were eating). So, the manager replaced my rocky-potstickers with 4 spring rolls, which were just almost as mortiferous as the potstickers. So I just left them there. Now to the Thai Iced tea: I wanted tapioca pearls with it. What do I get? A gooey Jelly thing that clogged the straw and almost makes me choke and throw up when I applied a more generous amount of vacuum to my already clogged straw. So, no pearls substitute in my Thai iced tea next time… if there’s a next time.

Alright, I have to bring some redemption to this place… at first I looked at the review and literally had to look up the address on Yahoo to make sure this was the same place… My co-worker showed me this place when she was hung over and in need of some greasy hangover food. Originally she told me they only had chicken so when I got here and saw that they had ribs in a variety of sauces I was pleasantly surprised. They have all kinds of chicken in sauces… think mr. chau/panda express status… like lemon chicken, house chicken, tangerine… that sort of thing. They have ribs in the same forte… honey bbq, tangerine, and all that. They have chow mein and fried rice along with veggie springrolls that they call eggrolls. I really didn’t know what to expect considering it seemed like a hole in the wall with a small steam table and costco’s kirkland waters stocked in the cold case. They have those«alive» pictures on the wall that plug in and make nature sounds while the water ripples which for some reason makes me feel like I’m in a nail shop so I take my food to go… but there are always people in there. I got the three item plate with half chow mein half fried rice, honey bbq ribs, and springrolls. I have to say I’m a fan, we’re not talking delicacy status here but this is some decent Chinese food and I’m definitely loving the springrolls, none of that weird aftertaste you tend to get at other places. Just keep in mind this is CASHONLY! And depending on when you go there might be some questionable people milling around seeing as the Red Stag is nearly next door. This is my new lunchtime Chinese fix!

Not to be Mr. Negative or anything, but this is exactly what you’re always hoping steam table Chinese food won’t be. Their food runs the gambit all the way from remarkably bad to remarkably bland, plus it’s always hot inside. The woman who runs the register is nice enough, and there’s plenty of parking, but the only thing I can really recommend about the place is that their food has a miraculously laxative quality.(I’m very serious about that.) Avoid.
