I call at 12:00 to confirm my appointment of 12:30 and see if they are on schedule. The receptionist confirms. I sit and wait till 12:45, then I leave the office. At 12:48, I get a call from Dr Zarkesh herself «I am ready for you now, dear» and then «we did not know you were in such a rush». This is completely next to the point… when patients are late, they pay, when doctors are late, we should just smile?
I would not have walked out if this was the first time, but my husband drove to her office to hear that they could not check what was scheduled because «they did not have the tools».
And I was kept waiting previously too.
I don’t say she’s a bad periodontist, she’s probably good, she did a deep cleaning and was going to check the results today.

I want to thank and recommend Dr Zarkesh, she first did my crown lenghthening surgery about 10 yrs ago which I’m very happy about. This really changed myself my life big time. I then was always hopeful i could also get rid of this gummy smile one day, but back then i belive wasn’t performed around here or at all so just lived with it. Well, the future has come and here i go again persuaded my dream. After a while which recently happened, Dr Zarkesh had told me about this new surgery for the gummy smiles and that she had this fellow associate Surgeon in her office so there i went ASAP without a doubt. May God bless the hands of this 2 Drs who worked on me, great people, professionals and loving caring human beings i should say. Thank you both Dr Zarkesh and Fateh.
ON THIS NOTE: All i have to say is that I’m so very grateful with Dr Fateh for the great Hollywood smile he put on my face after the surgery performed due to a very gummy smile since was child trauma because i wasn’t comfortable smiling always had to hide it. This transformation has changed my life, self-​esteem and confidently smiling is huge for me so I’m so very happy, glad and lucky i found Dr Fateh. I was referred to him by my friend perio Dr Zarkesh in San Jose, Ca. Overall went well and short time, painless and i was in great hands, i felt it since the beginning i met Dr F. He’s a great person/​Dr and ensures Pt’s comfort throughout the procedure. I strongly recommend this both great Drs, Fateh/​Zarkesh. I’ve been looking forward to one day without having a major surgery done and of course $$$$$, i had hope this kind of procedure was invented one day and change my life. Dr. Zarkesh and her staff are absolutely exceptional and extremely kind and friendly. She is one of the best in the Bay Area, if not the best. I’ve done two different surgical procedures with Dr. Zarkesh and she did a phenomenon
Job. She meticulously takes care of her patients with such a light and steady hand. I highly recommend her as a periodontist if you need any work done.

I might not recommend Dr. Zarkesh for a tooth extraction. It took over two hours in the chair to extract my tooth and I was there two and a half hours. For what it’s worth, my new oral surgeon says extractions typically take him 15 – 20 mins and he couldn’t remember the last time he did one that took an hour. He also found a spot that wasn’t cleaned up on a follow-​up CT. I can say that it didn’t hurt, but the length of time was very challenging. Dr. Zarkesh and her staff are nice, the office was also nice and clean. Maybe I had an extremely difficult tooth, but if there’s a next time, I’ll go with an oral surgeon.

I visited Dr Zarkesh for the first time in 2008 for a major dental work, and she has gained my trust since.
She’s very masterful is what she does and she has totally conveyed the same feeling to my analytical and constantly questioning mind. She does discuss all of my options and has amazed me at offering what’s procedurally and financially in my best interest… I am happy and thankful! Very helpful staff work at her office always helping me prepping for the visit upon my arrival. Thank you!

I had 2 tooth lengthening surgeries with Dr. Zarkesh, She is very professional and skilled, or somehow she is a dental super craftsman, also I’m in love with their new clinic that is equipped with latest technology!

Dr. Zarkesh is an excellend periodontist.
She is a very adept diagnostician, very thorough, and knowledgable and highly professional. She is kind and respectful and works very well with other medical providers. Her staff are also highly pprofessional and conscientious. I highly recommend Dr. Zarkesh, her staff and her lovely offfice.

Dr. Zarkesh and her staff are great. I’ve been coming here for about 4 years now for cleaning and checkup. Dr. Zarkesh is very professional and caring. I love their new office; it’s very clean and welcoming.

My friend doesn’t have a Unilocal account, but was a recent patient of Dr. Zarkesh:
«I highly recommend Dr. Zarkesh. I saw her for gum graphs. I have a real phobia when it comes to dentists. I went in for a consultation; we discussed what needed to happen, and various approaches to pain/​anxiety control. (Anesthesia — expensive, gas — inconvenient, Valium — maybe…) Later, looking at her schedule we found that she had an opening immediately after my consultation. I decided to go for it, without the benefit of the aforementioned medicines, phobia be damned!
Dr. Zarkesh was incredibly gentle! The procedure didn’t hurt at all, and indeed, she was even conscientious with the injections of local anesthetic. She has a kind bedside manner and I liked her assistants as well. (Of course there was some soreness after the fact. but what do you expect when someone has been cutting into your face? It wasn’t a big deal.)
About a month later I went back for another graph — completely without fear — which is quite a testament to Dr. Zarkesh’s skill.
Dr. Zarkesh’s secretary is also fabulous and contributed to my feeling comfortable, and was great about checking in with me after the procedure.
I really can’t recommend her highly enough — and if you’re feeling like I was a few short months ago — pretty freaked out about the prospect of this surgery in particular and dental stuff in general — I hope you select Dr. Zarkesh!»
I watched my friend go from absolute terror at surgery to only sometimes pretending that she needed her faithful penguin sidekick. Also, as her driver/​emotional support, I appreciated how friendly the staff were. The receptionist always greeted us and made sure to offer me some water.

Their quote is much higher than others. I went to other doctor and they charge much less.

Dr. Zarkesh is great! My Generlal Dentist recommended her to me. She did an implant for me recently. Her skills are excellent. I was at her office twice. First time for a bone graft and and another time for putting the implant. I did not feel any pain and both operations went smoothly. Before doing the operations, Dr. Zarkesh fully explained the process and what I had to do in order to prevent potential complications after the surgeries. I was very comfortable through out the procedure and it went pretty quikly. She also followed up on me both on the day of surgeries and a couple of days later to see how I was doing. Eventhough, I had a few stiches in my gum, I really did not feel that I had a surgery done. There were no complications or infections. As I did not have post surgery complications or pain, my life was not interrupted at all and I could resume work immediately.

I agree with the other posts. The professionalism, skill, and overall care are outstanding and it is very comforting to know that your health and mouth are in good hands. I hope she does not get too popular, but even if she did, she is not the type to let the quality of her work suffer to increase her bottom line.
One thing I liked was when I was in the chair she noticed something on my nose and thought it might be cancerous… and also she is very clear about what kind of self care you need to do to keep your mouth healthy.

I was referred to Dr. Zarkesh for a gum graft to fix some gum recession. I had been putting off having this procedure done because it sounded so unpleasant. I very much appreciated the kind and friendly treatment of Dr. Zarkesh’s staff. They helped me stay relaxed and calm. Dr. Zarkesh did an excellent job with the surgery and was very thorough with my post-​op care. I felt well taken care of! The graft was a success and I’m very pleased with my experience. I would highly recommend Dr. Zarkesh to others.

Dr. Zarkesh is the best. I have been going to her for 3 years for special care, and she is a true miracle worker. She is always willing to take time to understand how I am progressing, and is an incredibly gifted surgeon. Highly, highly recommended.

My dentist referred me to Dr Zarkesh for a procedure called a «crown lengthening». I’ve never had oral surgery before and not being particularly fond of going to the dentist, I wasn’t looking forward to the experience. On my first visit, Krista (front office/​reception) and everyone else in the office treated me as if I had been a patient of theirs for years. Highly professional, friendly and very concerned for my well being. Dr Zarkesh explained the procedure, and performed it quickly and efficiently. She gave me a prescription for painkillers, but all I needed were a couple of Tylenol that night and I was eating regular food the very next day. They followed up by phone to see how I was doing and when I went back to have the stitches removed, it didn’t hurt at all.
Very highly recommended.

I was referred by Bonaventural dental for some minor gum issues, and Dr. Ueno (one of Dr. Zarkesh’s associates) was my surgeon, I ended up needing gum flap surgery, and Dr. Ueno and his team were fast, through and my smile looks great now (not that it didn’t before, mind you ;)
Linda (receptionist) has to be one of the most cheerful people I’ve ever had the pleasure to speak with over the phone.
