Been here for many times, and my love is their Pad Thai. The plate is pretty big; sometimes I ask them to give me a to-go box. Overall, it’s good! But maybe it is a little bit sweet and sour for some people.

Pad Thai had soggy noodles; the entire plate tasted soggy and bland. «$ 20 minimum on each card»…you’re telling me we can’t split a dinner for 2 on both cards? Pad Thai made my stomach hurt and I barely ate anything and let them know… still charged me. And Service was barely there. Definitely not coming here again.

A little confused as to what to order here. They claim to be a Thai and Malaysian restaurant that serves Hainan chicken. I’v eaten a lot of thai, so decided to order the Malaysian dishes. The evening went from disappoinment to pain, with frequent trips to the toilet. 1. Roti Parata(2⁄5): With a MSG filled curry. Why use the powder when its available naturally in mushroom and celery? 2. Nasi Lemak(2⁄5): Nothing close to the actual Malaysian dish. What’s a chicken curry doing in the Dish? and why does the Dried salted fish stink? It does not stink this bad when eaten in Malaysia or India. Everything was served ice cold, including the hard boiled egg. No coconut flavor in the rice either. 3. Hainan Chicken in a Thai place, lol:(3⁄5) Did I make a mistake of ordering the wrong dishes? May be… So, will give this place a try again with a bigger group, to sample a larger spread.

Very solid and much better than the Fremont location. Owner is very friendly and enjoys dishing out the hospitality, floating tables free appetizers and mango shaved ice. Have the roti pratha, fried tofu appetizer, black pepper sauce chicken, chow bee hoon, dry beef with vegetables, beef rendang, and Siam salmon. All delicious.

We were looking for a place for dinner and saw that this place has some good reviews… It is in a very big strip mall that has several other food options as well… We went into the restaurant and the place was busy for 8:30pm for dinner. we sat down and ordered some roti and curry… my wife got a fired rice and I got the cumin vegetable with tofu… The roti was flaky fresh and delicious. My wife enjoyed her fried rice. My cumin curry had curry leaves(you know what it is if you are from south India or if you are from Malaysia or the lower Asias.:)) several other spices with cumin being the dominant one(Duh!!)…It was hot flavorful… delicious… The place is very unassuming… nothing pretentious about it… the staff is very nice. the food was good… I am sure I would like to go back :)

Take my word and order the satay beef and chicken combo!!! You will not regret it. Great flavors. … Perfect to eat by itself or with rice. The peanut sauce that is included on the side is also very tasty. I thought i wouldnt like it much, so i stayed away from it until my last skewer. After, i regretted not dipping my other skewers in there sooner:(. the bf and i also ordered the salt and pepper squid. The white rice we had complimented it very well. The squid was good, but nothing spectacular. Overall, they had a fairly interesting menu. i would love to return and explore the different items that caught my eyes.

Took my friend here for her early bday dinner. She loves Thai food and upon reading rave reviews, we decided to try this place. We arrived around 6pm on a weekday and got seated quickly. We ordered: ·Thai tea– I give it a 4⁄5 ·Roti prata– love the texture and crunchiness but I wish the peanut sauce would be thicker. 4⁄5 ·Pineapple fried rice– had only a few pieces of pineapple and was a bit salty. 2⁄5 ·Pad see ew– tasted bland. 2⁄5 ·Panang sizzling chicken. Tasted good for the first few bites, was a little salty for our taste. 2⁄5 We received our thai tea and roti in 10 minutes but for the other items, we waited an additional 20 minutes. Over all, I would rate this restaurant a 3.

YUMMMM! Came here randomly with a couple friends and we waited 10 – 15 mins to be seated. We came around 630 dinner time and the place was very busy. We looked on the menu and we wanted to order everything! We got roti, salmon appitizer dish, a noodle dish hookien noodles?, and a curry dish(dont remember the name). We also got a peach tea and a dessert tea drink. Everything we got was delicious! The servers were very sweet and attentive. They got out orders and food out right away! We all agreed that we ill be coming back!

I wanted to try this place to compare it to the best San Mateo location. I ate here with two other friends on a chilly night and the place was simply packed during the weekend and there was a decent wait of about 15 – 20 min for our table. I’ll be honest that this place is a bit of a mad house compared to the San Mateo location which seems much slower paced and cleaner. This place is older and obviously run a bit more frantically… that doesn’t always fare well especially once you tried the food. We got the house fried rice, dry black pepper chicken, salt and pepper squid, a curried beef, and Balachan Kangkung Asparagus. The dishes were only OK, nothing special when compared to the deliciousness I have experienced twice now at the Mango Garden in San Mateo. I have finally found out why that location fares best of them all, the head chef of all three locations stays in San Mateo the most and is therefore working in that kitchen. There is an air of sophistication and depth of flavor in all the dishes that I eat at the San Mateo location. I likely won’t go to this location and will recommend everyone try the San Mateo location first if possible before even coming here. They need to train their chefs here to make dishes like the head chef does, I understand that is a difficult task but if it were to happen would be an amazing miracle!

I used to live in the south bay some years ago, but have since moved down to SoCal… so I’m no longer familiar with all the new eateries that have popped up since I left. However, I still have family living in the area and they seem to be in the loop. Usually having difficulty deciding where to go for dinner, my father made the decision for Malaysian/Thai food… and somehow we ended up here. We showed up around 6.15pm and the place was maybe 1⁄3 full so there was no wait. The server/host was very friendly and seated us right away. Browzing through the menu there seemed to be a good selection of Malaysian and Thai dishes to choose from… but be warned, as typical, most dishes are going to be spicy curry, chilli, or heavy sauced. But what really stood out were the prices! Oh my… prices of food have really skyrocketed since I left the Silicon Valley! Dishes I was used to seeing at $ 9 – 12 are now a good 15−20% more! I guess this is what you can expect for«exotic» style food these days. Anyway, we went ahead and ordered a nasi lemak, roti prata, fried taro basket with chicken and veggies, okra stir fried with garlic sauce. Oh, a complimentary plate of 3 fried tofu stuffed with a bean sprout stuffing I thought was a nice touch. Unfortunately, I and my brother can no longer eat tofu, so my father ate it all. I’ve been trying to stay away from spicy foods so I didn’t get to try the nasi lemak… but according to my brother, it was only ok. The roti prata is quite typical for the type you get in California… not like the real ones you get in Malaysia… so nothing too exciting. The stir fried okra was probably the best of all the dishes we ordered… the okra actually tasted fresh, and the sauce was quite yummy… clearly cooked fresh. The stuffed fried taro basket was my least favorite… and this was most disappointing as I usually enjoy it very much everytime I order it in Malaysia. The stir fried chicken and veggie stuffing in the basket was quite good, but the fried taro basket tasted like it was made much earlier in the day and had been sitting around for a while… not fresh at all. This is not my favorite Malaysian/Thai food restaurant by far, but then again, it’s hard to find a truly good Malaysian restaurant anywhere around here… and this applies to SoCal too. I may give this place one more try and order different dishes next time just to see if the other dishes are any better. On the bright side however, the service was very good and friendly throughout.

A 3.5 actly but I want to round up to a 4 for service. It was my first time here and the service is so so nice! They gave us a tofu salad and shaved ice on the house. Servers were all very polite and I like the seating of this place. All of it creates a very comfortable atmosphere. But the food is another story. It’s not bad but… It just tastes salty without much flavor. There was no spice to anything. Not the curry or the pineapple fried rice. I didn’t try the Hainan chicken we also ordered so idk about that. The roti was good but the sauce was quite salty. Satay beef was good. It was just kind of disappointing that NONE of the dishes had a distinct flavor to it.

I went here on a Monday night for a party of two. There was no wait. We walked right in and got seated right away. I thought it was really nice that the restaurant gives fried tofu with peanut sauce as a complimentary dish. We ordered Roti Prata, Chicken Taro Bird Nest and a Fried Pearl Noodle. Roti Prata — the warm and sweet crêpe with chewy texture really compliments the curry sauce(curry sauce was slightly on the salty side). It’s definitely a great appetizer to get your taste buds going. Chicken Taro Bird Nest — the chicken was perfectly cooked. It was nice and tender in the veggies stir fried held together by a taro nest. Taste wise, this dish was a little bland and not as flavorful as I had imagined it to be. Fried Pearl Noodle — udon like, thick and transparent noodles simply pan tossed with some bean sprouts. Interesting dish and I liked it. Overall, food was decent, but nothing really stood out for me. Service was quick and friendly.

This place could get really crowded for a Friday night. It’s great for big crowds; however, the food is mediocre. We ordered the Thai Basil Chicken, Pad Thai, and the Garlic String Beans. Thai Basil Chicken — you don’t really taste the basil nor was it spicy as I would expect. Pad Thai — usually most Thai restaurants do a decent making of this. It seemed as though they threw on some sauce that you could get at the store. The noodles were slightly rough. Garlic String Beans — this was the only dish I liked. It’s what you expect and it can’t go wrong. Otherwise, easy spot to grab quick food.

My family has been going here for quite a while now, and we’ve all thoroughly enjoyed the food and service every time. Today we got a beef satay, 2 roti pratas, their signature tofu dish, and a pineapple fried rice. Beef satay was good as usual; nothing too special there. Their roti prata and tofu dish are basically the reasons we even come here. Notice how we order not 1 but 2 roti pratas — it’s that good. Unfortunately, I was pretty disappointed with the pineapple fried rice. It was overly salty, and the flavors just didn’t make sense to me. Also, all of the dishes were practically cold, which confused me because I’ve never experienced that here before. However, I really love how great their service is. The servers are super nice and helpful, and the dishes come out super quickly(today, the dishes came within 10 minutes). Sometimes they even give you a complimentary appetizer!

This place is a hidden gem on Miller Ave. If you are looking for a place to eat in the Lynbrook, Cupertino area. This plaza actually has good food and Mango Garden is a huge contributor. The Food: A Malaysia restaurant so the fusion of flavors is awesome. If you don’t get the Roti, you are sleeping. The roti is a thin crêpe served with a curry. Great appetizer. The sweet tofu app is hella good too. The fried tofu is paired with a sweet tangy sauce. The green curry is on point. bomb. the half chicken and beef kabobs were really tasty. Juicy meat served with a chili oil sauce(check the photo) is delicious. And the house fried rice. really good. Overall: Will return.

On a Friday night, fifteen of us had a huge dinner. We were a little more loud than the average diner there and the restaurant put up with us. We ordered many dishes and some came out complimentary. Combo sauté– chicken and beef Salt and pepper eggplant to die for; Pad Thai noodles: Sizzling beef: Green curry chicken; Crispy chicken; Two desserts — mango strawberry and a taro It was delicious!!! Probably some of the best thai food I ever had. Unfortunately two of the dishes were above my spicy tolerance level. When back in town, I will go here again!
I have eaten at a lot of Singaporean/Malaysian restaurants in my day in the Bay Area and really none of them taste authentic in the least. Some of those places taste really good, but are definitely not authentic in the slightest. Walking into Mango Garden really hit close to home, everything smelled, looked, and felt like it should have. Also, the fact that they gave us a free starter of prata and curry didn’t hurt either.(The free starter was freaking amazing btw). Two of my favorite dishes of the night was the kangkong sambal. OMG this took me back for sure. It tastes exactly like home. Man, writing this review is making me homesick. The samba was spicy and had that kick of prawn to it, as all good sambal does. The kangkong was also cooked to perfection, soft, but with a nice crunch. If you’re Singaporean and missing good old Peranakan food, Mango Garden might just tide you over the next few months. Another of my favorite dishes was the seafood in the crispy yam basket. OMG. this was the food of my childhood you guys and ITISAMAZING. ITTASTESJUSTLIKEHOME. The yam was fried to crispy perfection, but it wasn’t oily at all. The seafood and gravy complemented the yam perfectly and was just absolutely DELISH. All in all, the food here is soooo good. The spicy food really has a kick to it, and the flavors are so on point. I would definitely be back here and would take all my spicy loving friends to visit.

Came by for dinner the other day and managed to be seated upon arrival. Started off with the Roti Telur which wasn’t very fresh… it was too thick and chewy… :/ Moved on to the Balachan KangKung and it was fantastic! The shrimp paste was very fragrant and the base of the vegetables were all removed! Next came the Satay combo which was also excellent. Both the chicken and beef were tender and flavorful. Last came the Chow Kwai Tiu which came out mild and less fragrant. The noodles and seafood were both fresh. Service was decent by the staff. …the A/C was in operation although the main door was wide open. …they no longer offer FREE appetizers/desserts. ~$ 20/head after tax and tip for dinner.

Located in the same Bollinger plaza as Safeway and Rite Aid, Mango Garden is the best thai spot in that area… however it hasn’t beat my favorite thai joint. Ate here for Friday dinner around 7PM, and there was no line and lots of seating space! The good things include: 1) big, open, spacious seating so BIGPARTIES are good 2) a sweet aroma wafting around=smells like THAITEA 3) service actually smiles(most of them), which is a rare Thai place occasion 4) PORTIONS are HUGE. At least for noodle dishes 5) quick, efficient, and clean However, they don’t compare to my all-time favorite Thai place New Krung Thai right before you hit Valley Fair shopping area. Mango Garden’s pricing is similar to most thai spots I know, but they don’t have as much flavor. Sure the dishes were delicious(I also had a taste of my friends Mango Veggie Delight), but they lacked the aromatic and lingering tastes that NKT always accomplishes. This place is a close-by thai spot, which will definitely be a place for me to try again(I’m looking forward to seeing how their curries taste). Perhaps I was too quick to judge since they lacked a lot of the traditional décor I tend to see in other thai restaurants.
