This is the Santana Row hosted Makers Market Santa Cruz. Other events and days this location are open are listed at I gotta say, I was expecting a bit… more. When I saw this pop up shop come up on Unilocal I was pretty excited. I love small business vendors and this seemed(and is) very similar to SJ Made in San Jose. That being said I was pretty happy I ended up coming with a friend for lunch instead of coming out here by myself, because they had at most ten vendors — it was much smaller than I had anticipated, so if you’re not here to shop at the Row, coming out here for this event may be a bit of a let down. I also do want to say that Santana Row could have provided a few patio heaters for them, because it was freezing, and half of them didn’t get sun for the first few hours the event was open. A few of the vendors ended up exchanging coats with each other or standing in the sun just to warm up. Personal favorites of mine were URB Apothocary(their face masks looked amazing), Corral Made whose wallets were absolutely gorgeous and my favorite Mutari, whose dairy free hot chocolate looked and tasted to die for. I ended up getting some for the honey and will be using Coconut milk when I make it at home. I was a nice little event to find a few gifts at for the Holidays and definitely wonderful to check out the small businesses in Santa Cruz. Small note: Their last one was in July so it looks like this event takes place about every 6 months.
