Located inside the main Kelley Park(KP) parking lot, the Leininger Center(LC) is your one-stop shop for all things that involve city facilities. At LC you can reserve a picnic site at a Regional Park(i.e., KP, Lake Cunningham, Almaden Lake & Alum Rock); Family Camp at Yosemite reservations; and apply for special events(e.g., weddings, festivals, etc). LC is also home to the Okayama Room(OR), which can be rented out for receptions, weddings, meeting, and the like. Here are some other quick details about LC: Parking– There is no street parking available at KP, only parking in the lot, which comes with a $ 10 fee. Even if all you’re doing is visiting the LC to make a reservation, they still expect you to pay the fee; consider yourself warned. Hours– M-F 8:30 a.m. — 4:30 p.m. There are no hours currently posted on Unilocal –and I’ve submitted the adjustment– but who knows when they’ll take effect. Website– You can also make park reservations here: You will need to start an account before you reserve, and I’d recommend you visit the site you want before reserving to make sure it fits your needs. Okayama Room– This is the primary purpose I’ve used the LC for, as our work group has had our Annual Holiday Potluck here since as far back as I can remember. The rates vary depending on a whole slew of factors(i.e., day of the week, time, resident/non-resident), so it’s best to call or ask when you visit. The OR has a lot of nice features, and is a perfect place for gatherings; here is a list: –175 person capacity –Lovely Japanese-themed patio, that’s always well-manicured –Restrooms –Stage –Tons of tables and chairs –An awesome kitchen area that includes multiple ovens, electric range, microwave, fridge, stainless steel sink, and plenty of counter space for the chopping and the slicing. I waffled on giving LC4-stars, but the fact that they require visitors to pay the parking fee is kinda lame; they really need to institute a «LC Parking Only» zone to by-pass that. Otherwise the LC serves its purpose well, and the staff is always nice and knowledgeable. Recommended for all you CSJ park needs.
