If my machines weren’t broken, I don’t think I would have gone here. I do agree the machines are decent like the other reviewers, but the owner/front desk is incredibly rude!

I’m going to add my distaste of this place since I noticed since my last review the parking enforcement coming around again more often. The owner of this place is horrible. She thinks the street parking on the side of the street of her laundry mat belong to her. In the past because her customers park inconsiderately and take up more than one spot on the street, when we get home we have to park where we can and we have every right to park on the other side of the street. She has friends in the city government and has lied to parking enforcement and told them our cars have been parked on the street for more than 3 days when we have only been parked for less than a day or up to 2 days. We have had all and any parking tickets given to us from her complaints dropped. Now it looks like she is going to try and do it again. So watch out for parking in the front where the fire hydrant is. You might get a ticket. I just saw them write a ticket and I know that is my neighbors vehicle. But many customers park there and that makes for an expensive laundry service. She also has a dryer or washer right now that is broken and makes a loud high pitch noise that goes off all day. She refuses to fix it and denies anything is broken. I talked to her tenants that live upstairs and they get all of the air pollution in their place from the dryers and she refuses to instal and air filtration system so they don’t have a thick layer of dust in their place everyday. That level of dust can cause health issues. What can I say. I just really don’t appreciate how inconsiderate and rude the owner is.

I grew up having to go to laundromat, but it’s been quite some time since I have been in one… As a kid I always remember laundromat feeling like home and entering Kiem Service I remembered that feeling, great customer service and giving me that childhood experience again.

Very open and breezy interior with many machines. I come to this laundromat weekly, and there has never been a time when I haven’t been able to find an empty washing machine. The dryers are very large and dry clothes very quickly, even large loads! Overall, great location and friendly laundromat. Would highly recommend. Great area of San José.

Machines are reliable and fast. never had a qualm about getting my things clean here. No wifi, which is a bummer. Personally I appreciate the escape and excuse to get in some reading or offline work :) Limited seating, really only 3 effective seats in the whole place. But many people don’t chose to sit. Bathroom requires key from counter. No toilet paper, soap, or anything to dry hands with when I went in today… be advised! It gets the job done for me, so I appreciate it!

Great neighborhood facility. The machines aren’t the newest, but they work fine and have decent capacity. The owner is friendly and helpful. It wasn’t too crowded on a Sunday morning. I like the quiet location.

My home dryer went out and so i stopped by my neighborhood laundromat to wash a load of clothing. I hadn’t been to a laundromat in about five years and I was expecting it to be as much of a chore as it had been in the past. Surprisingly, it was quick and enjoyable: I was able to use quarters instead of having to purchase a card that requires loading money(those cards are a waste of plastic and usually get lost with a monetary value of a few dollars still on the card). I also thought I was going to have to push through reading my textbook with screaming kids and families everywhere but on that Sunday there were only three other customers doing laundry — all three were also SJSU students, so it was a nice quiet study environment.

Good to come here if you are within walking distance. It does its job as a self-service laundromat and one of the few in this north downtown San Jose neighborhood. Its like the only business on the block so theres like nothing to do nearby. Very narrow aisles and if its crowded, which all weekends are, you have to make it quick loading and unloading or your door is blocking people from passing through. Pros: Its attended, so that means no troublemakers loitering like Wash America on E Santa Clara St and quick quarters. Cons: A 5-spot parking lot and hard to find street spots. Only 2 bigger washers or you could use 4 smaller ones.

After moving to the neighborhood, we tried a few laundromats around the area. Kiem’s was the best around. They have new washers and they keep the place clean. The owner is very friendly and the price is reasonable. The only drawback is that the place isn’t very big. It’s narrow and long with hardly any place to sit down to wait for the laundry to be done. It can also get pretty crowded at times.
