Thoroughly disappointed for the sorry excuse of a burrito I bought here… I thought it was going to be like the original place nearby downtown but man was I wrong. I honestly felt like the just threw a bunch of stuff into a tortilla and call it a burrito. Otherwise great and quick service!

Tried this place twice now. Gotten sick both times not sure what from. Orange sauce is gross ! ps to the guy with large round face behind the counter, next time someone asks you for napkins and sauce don’t be so appalled. Wipe that unintelligent look off your face, your father wouldn’t be proud

Iguanas needs to revaluate their staff, the guy up front made me want to punch him right in the nose, and he must of not communicated the order right because it was made wrong. And i thought this place served hot food, even my quesadillas weren’t melted all the way. Not a happy customer at all.

They closed 15 min before actual posted closing time. Unprofessional about lying to customers that are willing to drive to your establishment and give you business.

I was so surprised that there was an Iguanas on the corner of Kiely Blvd. and in a shopping plaza that’s predominantly filled with Asian businesses. Lucky for me I happened to be in the area at Valley Fair mall and decided to make a dinner pit stop with some friends. I usually will share the nacho fries or a burrito whenever I go to Iguanas by SJSU but I was feeling pretty hungry so I got my own super burrito with Carne Asada and nacho cheese. The Iguanas location by SJSU(in my opinion) always makes their orange sauce so unbearably hot but this location did it right for me. The burrito tasted good and the sauce complemented it perfectly. My friends ordered nachos to share and instead of putting the usual Carne Asada they put Al Pastor on it. It tasted so good(think of what chicharrones tastes like) so I’d definitely recommend it over the Carne Asada. The male cashier helping us seemed annoyed when we were giving him our orders but I’ll let it slide since all of us were somewhat indecisive about what we wanted.

Clean place with very friendly service. The Burritos are not the greatest, even for a chain.

Very disappointed! I hate giving restaurants 1 star but Iguanas don’t even deserve 1 star. I have spent a lot of money between this place and the downtown location through DoorDash. I usually order for work, home and a place where I hang out. Every order is no less than $ 50. It seems like whoever received the order doesn’t care about reading instructions. I don’t ask for much but today they blew it. I ordered the Breezy Excursion Burrito, I asked for silverwares which I never received but the bigger problem was I received the chicken, sour cream, cheese, pico De gallo in containers and tortilla filled with fries. Are you serious? I also paid for extra meat(carne asada) that I never received . Never again! I’d rather go else where and spend my money.

Great place and great service. I come here at least 3 times a week. Once in a while my order won’t be right but other then that it’s a great place. Quality food and tasty. They need to open one in Fremont or Hayward.

I will have to say, out of all my year of going to the original and now the satellite locations. I have never been disappointed in Iguanas! I have heard this happening to others but thought they were being dramatic. I went to Iguanas tonight, at 857pm the back 2 or 3 tables had their chairs up, after we put in our order the guys tells us that we can’t sit and if we want our food Togo cuz they are closing. The sign mind you says, 10pm. When I kind of push, he says«they have a hard close» really?! I could understand downtown but this is Saratoga! There kitchen area already looked like it was about to shut down. If your going to be open till 10pm, then be open till 10pm, not half way through or start shutting down at 857pm…

I am a big fan of burritos and tacos. I opted for their nachos, as I was not very hungry for a big burrito. The service was fantastic. They had a big sign about their Iguana sauce. I got my nachos. The carne asada had zero flavor. They also used liquid cheese, which was gross and had a weird aftertaste. I expected to see a salsa bar and they handed me one of their orange sauces. It was ok; but, I have had better. I had high hopes for this place. I was very disappointed. The only thing this place has going for it is the service. The food needs big time improvement.

The most bland Mexican food I’ve ever had. Absolutely zero flavor. I had the carne asada tacos. It felt like I was eating cardboard. The chips were stale and had way too much salt on them. I could feel my blood pressure rising just eating them. I honestly don’t know how people eat this food. I understand not everyone has the same taste in food but this food has no flavor at all. The line cook spent most of his time talking to one of the other guys while holding my food in his hands. He then looked at me(and I was the only customer in the place) and then went back to talking to the other guy. They also don’t wear gloves or hairnets. Have they been trained in food preparation? I gave them one star because their Pepsi actually tasted like Pepsi.

This place was alright, nothing special in my eyes. This place is not an authentic Mexican restaurant like I assumed. I ordered the pollo asado fiesta salad, although it killed my starvation I would desire to come back. The shell wasn’t crispy at all & while I was eating I notice the cooks not using gloves while handling the food. In the process of preparing the food, they were also touching everything else.

A very solid 3, 3.5 for thrill and possibly a 4 with service! I came to Iguanas after watching my favorite competitive eater, Matt Stonie, wolf down a Burritozilla in a mere few minutes.(With ease too!) I came here with two others on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. We hadn’t eaten breakfast yet, so we were quite hungry when we got here. We settled down with: –1 Burritozilla(mixed meat: steak and chicken, additional $ 1) //Too much rice for my liking, and not enough meat or guac. I like that the flavors are kept simple, however! This way I could add all the sauces I wanted. –1 order of chips and guacamole: chips are yummy since it is not salted, but the guac is way too watery! It had a good amount of onions/cilantro, but not enough avocados. Pros: –Yummy orange sauce! It seems like a mix of the chipotle mayo sort of thing, but it has a nice kick of spiciness to it! –Patient service. I could tell that the man with the perfect mustache was getting annoyed at our questions, but I thank him for being patient about clarifying what we wanted. Cons: –Everything was luke warm. I was looking forward to biting into a hot, piping burrito that reminds me of Socal… but was disappointed with a warm burrito instead. Tips/Observations: –If you show your student ID, you get 10% off! –Parking specifically in front of this place is either 15 minutes or 30 minutes. I would suggest going to the next plaza just in case you don’t feel like you can finish eating in time.(And this parking lot is too small for my liking!) Overall, I would probably try another Iguanas before deciding if this is THE Iguanas to go to. While you get the excitement of the 18 inch burrito, but at the same time I felt like I would have been fine with eating a burrito stuffed with lots more than just rice.

The first time I came here I ordered the nacho fries and was disappointed. I took them to go and when I looked at the bag when I got home it was full of liquid! While I obviously don’t blame the styrofoam box for leaking, I am left wondering– where did all that mysterious watery liquid come from??? Is it the liquid the meat sits in? Did they use a ladle to serve the meat? It was very off putting and left my fries soggy and gross. I decided to try again today and was disappointed again. This time it wasn’t watery but it was really really oily which again left the fries soggy and gross. I know these are nacho fries and all, but I don’t think it’s normal for there to be literal puddles of grease on the bottom of the container. All in all, iguanas if you’re reading this– please buy spoons with holes in them so you can serve the food and not the weird meat water! Also! Strain your fries after removing them from the oil! Excess oil is nasty! Extra star because service was great, they’re always really nice!

The cook tonight is super awesome. He dealt with my many annoying request without a fuss. I ordered shrimp and fish tacos which I don’t they make as often so they make it from scratch. Thumbs up for that! The cashier is also very friendly and they clean up the table pretty quickly. I’m just waiting for a to go order and he’s wiped it down twice.

I wanna Iguanas… This new location serves the same great food as the original one and is less crowded. Everything on the menu is affordable and flavorful, and the selection is vast! I recommend ordering your burritos«crispy» because it’s a free and delicious upgrade. It takes an extra ten minutes, but you end up having something that’s closer to a chimichanga and the flaky tortilla makes it all worth it. The guacamole tastes really good too, but it certainly isn’t chunky. It actually has the consistency of a sauce and is worth trying if you want to add some additional flavor to your meal. I’m simple and order a bean and cheese burrito with added sour cream, onions, and cilantro. The only thing I would opt out of in the future is the ground beef enchiladas. …They are actually REALLY good but taste like Mexican Chef Boyardee and just seem a little bit out of place when compared to everything else that is served here. My only suggestion for the folks in charge would be to serve flan and churros for dessert and have Godzilla movies playing at all times to add some well needed ambiance. (Thanks, Iguanas! I’ll be back next week!)

Maybe the SJSU one is better or maybe my tastes have changed since grad school but this place was not up to par. Had the nachos and they do pile it high… mainly with beans. But they sure don’t skimp on the jalapeños. However the chips were stale. Kind of disappointing when you order nachos and the chips are stale. I got a jaw workout getting through my meal. Ordered my mom a taco salad and how is it that there is barely any salad in the taco salad. Maybe the line cook who was preparing our food was new because he seemed a little lost trying to put it together. Either that or people just don’t order taco salads and so they aren’t familiar with it. He had to get guidance on what was involved in putting it together and I could see him holding a handful of lettuce but only putting in half of what was in his hand. Then I watched him try to cram the taco salad in a taco bowl into a regular square styrofoam to go container and try to close the lid. When that didn’t work he put a rubberband around it… of course breaking some of the shell. It was just an experience to watch all this. I think I’m okay with not returning to this one.

This weird corner of the Lion Supermarket center got part of its parking lot cut off and a new strip mall built. Starbucks, Togo’s, and now Iguanas. Not many people seem to know about it yet. Came in for a Monday lunch and got an order pretty quickly. An al pastor quesadilla and an asada taco. Quick, hot and tasty. It may not be totally traditional but it still hit the spot

Praise the Lord, Iguanas has finally opened this location! I had been waiting for about a year for them to open ever since they placed the«Smile, Iguanas is coming to you» banner outside the newly created plaza on the corner of Saratoga and Kiely. It’s between the Starbucks and Togo’s. Fast, friendly, delicious, great hours, great location off 280 and Saratoga, and let’s not forget the great price. ALSO, they give you the orange sauce now by default with your order! Customer service is great too. my friend forgot to get a drink with his order so when he went back to the register to buy one, they gave it to him on the house! This place is off to a good start. Here are the hours: Monday: 10am — 10pm Tuesday: 10am — 10pm Wednesday: 10am — 10pm Thursday: 10am — 12am Friday: 10am — 12am Saturday: 10am — 12am Sunday: 10am — 9pm
