I would give this place 3.8 stars. There is always a long line, and they have a wide variety of fish and topping options. Portions are large, with a happy amount of fish, and the sauces are tasty. I’m taking points for the price and for the lack of room to sit down anywhere(inside or outside) and the price, but I still go back :)

Five solid Unilocal stars! I never had a poke before, my understanding of poke was it is some kind of Hawaiian ceviche? Usually, thinking of raw fish drenched with sauces is a no-go for me, but I’m glad that I give this place a try. and now I can’t stop thinking about how delicious they are! The interior space is real tiny, with only about 4 tables inside and a couple of counter seating. I noticed that a great deal of people grab it and go instead. The ordering concept was also really simple; first you choose the size you want — regular(for 3 fish selections) or large(for 5 selections). You can customize it to your heart’s desire, sushi rice, brown rice, or even yam noodle. They also add interesting toppings to the mix; avocado cream, miso crab, masago and so on. I select one of their«5 top recommendation» spicy salmon in regular($ 11. xx). It was probably one of the unhealthier ones since it was drenched with mayo, but it was well worth it! My bowl was full of flavors and I never knew avocado goes so deliciously well with rice. They also gave me a solid portion for my salmon — yum~ Simple, flavorful and fresh — Perhaps, this place has just become my new love in the C-town.

Came by for a quick dinner the other night and was impressed. Despite a tiny storefront, the staff was helpful, cheerful, and friendly, although some had quite a few tattoos… Ordered the half sushi rice, half salad with cucumbers, miso imitation crab, signature poke, spicy scallops, and shrimp. The portion was decent and filing for dinner. The fish was cold, a good thing, since it’s raw fish! Despite Unilocalers claiming that there is no seating, the interior probably seats 15 – 20 and there are ~20 seats of outdoor seating by Longevity Foot Spa. The line did get pretty long, almost to the door by the time I left as service is on the slower side… ~$ 13/person after tax for dinner. Tip: Avocado is a $ 1 surcharge.

Update on my familes visit to Go Fish Poke Bar. During the holidays and beyond we have had several meals at GFPB, to date have had delicious, well prepared poke bowls. The portions are just right, fish fresh well seasoned. We also enjoy the miso short rib and the ginger chicken both very tasty. And at a value for the size. I have read the other reviews not sure why some are rated lower, you cant keep everyone happy. We all think this is the go to place for Poke in the bay area. I say check them out!

This place is explosive. Their poke bowls are soooo good and you get your money’s worth. There are four steps for you to get your bowl. 1. Choose your base. 2. Choose your fish. 3. Choose your toppings. 4. Choose your sauce. A regular bowl is $ 12 but this includes 3 different types of fish you can choose from(salmon, yellowtail, seared albacore, pre-mixed signature poke, spicy scallops, etc). For the fish that aren’t mixed yet you can choose the type of sauce you want with it(ponzu, sesame, aioli). And you can also add sauce to your«yam» noodles! For those who are trying to avoid eating too much starch, they also have mixed greens! Oh and if you want to pretend you’re eating a tuna tartare, you can also get nacho chips as the base. Let the creativity floowwwwww. Best poke I’ve had in Cali. :)

Gave this place a go again yesterday and was just slightly more impressed. Their signature tasted as if it had been marinated for longer and it was a unique combo of both tuna and salmon. My own combo of ponzu with chili sesame on salmon was still a bit lacking in the flavor department. Unfortunately I didn’t get much of the sauce taste and I felt like I was just tasting the salmon alone. Fish is still fresh, toppings are great, however still not the authentic poke flavor I crave, and the wait is still always so long. I was in line for 20 min and frankly, it wasn’t that there were a lot of people but more that the line just moved so slowly. Most likely won’t be back… sadly, still awaiting for that true authentic Hawaiian poke.

Hung L. took me here once and I’ve been trying to plot my way back ever since! After dropping his cute little dog(who’s name is also Cutie(aw how cute)) off at the vet, we had some time to kill, so we Unilocaled for help and what do you know. Go Fish popped up as HOT&NEW. It’s a neat little shop that carries a handful of fresh fishes to choose from. Typical build your own bowl concept. My bowl, which he insisted I get a large, consisted of spicy scallops, ahi tuna, salmon, and double yellow tail(5 fish). You can add as many sauces as you like so theres no need to pick and choose. This is a plus for me because I NEED my sauce(s). Another plus is that all bowls come with miso soup. We also got complimentary sides which I thought was a good example of killing two birds with one stone: Introducing their products to customers at a very little cost to them. Props for smart business. Overall, my bowl packed an amazing array of flavors. It’s fresh, it’s tasty, and although It’s no poke from Hawaii, it’s good enough to leave me wanting more. I wanna come back already!

Dinner for 2. — Ambiance(4⁄5) Cool, modern, clean. — The Signature Poke Bowl, Regular, $ 10.50(3⁄5) A mix of ahi tuna, salmon, imitation crab, ponzu, sesame, and masago. I chose the yam noodles, which were a great texture. I do wish the ponzu was a bit stronger(or saltier). The bowl in general lacked punch. Also, the Signature Bowl is a set item on the menu, so it was strange that avocado is included on the menu and yet is an extra $ 1 charge anyway. When you have a preset menu item, you kind of just expect all the ingredients to be included in the price. — Sunomono Salad, $ 2(3⁄5) Standard. — Value(3⁄5) Reasonable sized bowl, though for $ 10.50, I expected a bit more on portion size. The line servers seemed very reticent to scoop, almost skimming the surface. Nowhere was this more evident than the masago. Use the spoon and scoop! That’s what it’s for. The sunomono salad was also pretty skimpy for $ 2. — Final Word We’re not in Hawaii, so I don’t expect Ono-good, but this poke bowl lacks flavor punch and is a bit lacking in value. Not bad, but not wow.

Wow! People have been saying this is the best poki around San Jose. They weren’t kidding! Soooooooo goooooooood! The main difference between this and other places is definitely the amount of fish/seafood they give u and toppings. you can add fried onions, spicy tempura flakes and can choose from a wide variety of sauces. Not just mild, spicy and none. Their spicy scallops are amazing! Definitely my favorite here. I should have gotten more than one. Also… their shrimp has a nice dressing on it. In addition, their shrimps are whole pieces and not shredded into strands or bits. This place also has other items such as handrolls and some meat options. It’s very small, so it can get crowded. Thumbs up to the hello kitty soy sauce bottles! It’s also next to 85 degrees and sno crave. So if you feel like dessert after, you can’t go wrong. Will definitely be coming here from now on.

4.5 stars! When did poke places become so popular? I’m definitely not complaining — I’m excited that I can get good poke without having to fly five hours to Hawaii! You can build your own poke bowl here. 1) pick your base: white sushi rice, brown rice, salad greens, yam noodles, half/half, or nachos 2) pick your poke: ahi tuna, salmon, yellow tail, albacore, poke mix, shrimp, spicy scallops, and even veggie(tofu, shitake mushrooms and edamame). They even have special poke like hamachi, so make sure to check out the wall for the specials. If you get a regular bowl, you get 3 scoops of poke(you can pick 3 different poke or 3 scoops of the same poke — you decide!). 3) pick your sauce: for the naked poke, they mix the fish with the sauce of your choice 4) pick toppings: the miso crab, avocado, and cucumbers actually get put in your bowl in the first step. But everything else gets placed and sprinkled on at the end, like ginger, masa go, furikake, and more. Avocado costs an extra $ 1 but it’s pretty good! My made to order poke bowl was delicious. I chose to get a regular bowl with salad greens, the signature poke mix, tuna, and salmon, with gomae sesame sauce and all the toppings. And it was really filling! I don’t think I could finish a large bowl(comes with FIVE scoops of fish). I also got a yuzu lemonade but o thought it was way too sweet. I had to dump out half of it and add water to make it drinkable. The service was great. The first guy answered by questions and all the employees were calm and patient despite there being a giant line for the lunch rush. I didn’t get any this time, but they also have mochi ice cream from Bubbie’s in Hawaii. And they have bottled Hitachino beer which is one of my favorite craft breweries! I’ll definitely come back for the poke bowls!

Another poke place in bay? Yes please! I’ve had several places bookmarked for a while and I was happy to check another one off the list! I am not too familiar with the area but it was easy to find with the help of Siri. I came here during the lunch rush at around 12:30, but I was in and out pretty quickly. It’s a small place with maybe three big tables with the rest as bar sitting. Like most places, it is chipotle style where you get to choose whatever you want in your poke bowl. You get a base of either white or brown rice, salad, half/half or noodles. You have either three choices of fish(regular at $ 11) or five choices of fish(large at $ 13.50). You have four choices of sauces to pick from. There are a lot of toppings to choose from to finish off your perfect DIY poke bowl. Personally, I always go with half sushi rice and half greens, just because. This time, I went with one scoop of salmon, tuna and yellowtail for my regular bowl. I got the spicy aioli sauce because I wanted a little kick to my bowl. I pretty much got all the toppings because why not? It included the typical masago, fried garlic, sesame seeds, seaweed, avocado(extra $ 1), and several other familiar sushi toppings. My bowl came out to be around $ 11.42 with tax, which isn’t that bad for its portion and the type of food. Overall, I thought the flavors were great! I love how you could taste the fishiness(if that’s even a word) of the salmon, tuna and yellowtail on its own without it being drowned in sauce or without it being too supermarket fishy. With the fish being delicious, the rest of the ingredients just blend it. The portion is also very generous! Go Fish is probably my second favorite, just right behind San Mateo’s Pokeatery. I do recommend this place though! I do want to come back and try their signature poke mix.

«.pooky? The name of your childhood teddy bear?» «No. Poke. It’s like sushi… in a bowl… from Hawaii.» «But isn’t sushi from Japan? Not Hawaii?» Explaining the amazing poke bowl I had just had to my grandma was going to be harder than I thought. But it was so good I didn’t care about the language barrier and the foreignness of the concept to my grandma. She had to know the amazingness of what I had just had. …And so do you. This place is like Chipotle went to Hawaii and had a raw affair with some poke, and then they had a forbidden love child. The décor is clean and playful– white and black tiles, some stools and tables. There is playful cartoon-like graffiti art on the side. It has a bar that the line runs right by where you order– and you start with your base, which can be rice, brown rice, glass noodles or mixed organic greens. Then you choose various toppings, such as cucumbers, crab, green onion, ginger, onions, crispy garlic, furikake… and more. Then you choose your poke– you get 3 scoops if it’s a small and you get 5 with a large. There are tons of choices for fish– salmon, tuna, yellowtail, scallop, shrimp, just to give you an idea. What results is a giant bowl of awesomeness. For a pretty affordable price considering it’s poke. They don’t skimp on the fish. This is a glorious lunch that you can get if you are in cupertino… …the only thing I would warn against is that part of the lunch crowd are REALLYLOUD high schoolers. They are likely juniors or seniors who have an elevated sense of self-importance because they can actually leave school and eat at a trendy place… and they talk about it that way. …but that’s not the restaurant’s fault that the customers are annoying… It’s not its fault that it is so cool haha. …and then I finished my explanation of what poke was. I think my grandma understands what it is now… but she still calls it «Pooky».

I my was love at first bite! I went twice in one weekend, that’s how much I loved it. If I lived nearby I can see myself going there every weekend! The positives: –Some fish is mixed already and some you can mix with whatever flavor you want among the 4 choices –loveeeeee the avocado(guacamole) — love the miso crab — love the options for rice, brown rice, salad, yam noodles — love the toppings(garlic furikake yes please!) — Miso braised short rib with Panko crusted soft egg and pickled Red ginger– amazzzing flavor — good price(please don’t raise prices!) –Bubbies mochi from Hawaii!!! We got green tea and guava. Unforgettable. The negatives: — long lines — little seating — yam noodles had zero taste –inconsistent service(new employees seem like they need some work– super slow, don’t know things and exact with portions while others just scooped up some fish quickly for my bowl) -«Guava Fresca» came from a container– saw the Sun Tropics container in their trash

In my opinion, this is one of the better poke places in the South Bay. There are poke places nearer to my house, but my sister and I will go here if we’re craving some poke. I like that Go Fish offers customers a lot of options to choose from for their bases and poke. I’ve never seen a place offer nachos as a base, but it sounds interesting enough that I would try it next time I go. I usually just go half sushi rice and half salad, which is a good balance. I really enjoy their signature poke mix — well marinated and provides a good flavor. In addition to their signature poke mix, I also get a scoop of the salmon and spicy tuna. I dress the salmon in a chili sesame and ponzu sauce. I make sure to ask for not too much sauce or else my poke bowl gets too saucy for my liking. Other unique poke they offer includes gomae shrimp and spicy scallops. Adding avocados is an extra $ 1, but totally worth it. I sprinkle some furikake and tempura flakes on my bowl at the end to add a nice little crunch to the whole bowl. Great place, decent prices. A little tight with not enough seating for its customers, but worth the trip to come here!

I tried SO hard to like this place… :( The first time I went, the sushi rice I got was either undercooked or cooked with too little water so the inside of each rice grain was crunchy. I ate the fish but gave up on the rice. The second time I went, my experience was okay but the noodles were a little watery. It tasted fine because the noodles were mixed with the sauce. The last time I went, the guy barely drained the noodles and then didn’t mix them with any sauce. It resulted in a bland and watery mess. I had to drain out the water from my bowl multiple times and pouring out murky orange water while I’m eating is an appetite killer. I had to ask for extra sauce because the noodles had no flavor. I like that they give three different choices of fish for the regular bowl and have a variety of toppings and sauces. I understand that this restaurant is still new and needs time to adjust, but I feel I have given it a fair number of chances.

This is my new go to take out place! I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to discover Go Fish Poke Bar. They’re a new business that opened a few weeks ago. They’re located on De Anza Blvd, in the same shopping complex as 85 degrees. I first heard about this place a couple of days ago and wanted to try their poke bowl. I finally have a chance and decided to go right when they open at 11am. Once there, I was already standing in line with two women ahead of me. As I was waiting, two more people got in line(and it was only 11:05!). There were plenty of employees and the service was quick. In and out in less than 10 minutes, including the time I dilly-dallied to decide what kind of fish I wanted. Imagine a place like Chipotle, except Asian style. You stand in line. Look at the easy to read menu and decide what your bowl will look like. You have a choice of noodles, rice, salad, or half and half. I chose the salad base. Then comes your choice of fish(marinated or naked). You get an ice cream scoop of each different type of fish. If you choose a regular, it’s 3 scoops. A large will get you a slightly bigger bowl and 5 scoops. They automatically give you a scoop of crab, onions, and cucumber if you choose. Next comes the sauce to add to your fish. After the sauce, you get to choose more toppings, such as tobiko, fried onion, chives, and such. My grand total for my regular meal came to around $ 10.50. The portions were just right. The place is tiny. They have a handful of seats but it’s best to take it to go. I can imagine this place filling up quickly and having people walk around you as you eat. It is an extremely well lit and clean place. The menu is posted clearly on the wall. They also offer more than just a poke bowl. You can get sushi rolls too. Employees were all smiles and friendly. Definitely a 5 star place!

I love that there are so many poke bowl options in South Bay now when there were 0 at the beginning of 2015. I decided to check this spot out since I was down the street running an errand. This used to be a dessert spot(Bambu), I think. I like that the interior is modern and spacious. The wall art is neat too — «Eat Happy» and«Go Fish Poke Bar» are stenciled in black on the white brick wall with bar seating. I got one bowl for myself and one for mom. Half sushi rice and half brown rice on both; hers had salmon and I got yellowtail. The other two scoops were the original poke and ahi tuna. You get 3 scoops for a regular bowl and 5 scoops for a large bowl. I like how you can even choose nachos as your base here; I might do that next time! The original poke was delicious as it was marinated longer, not just tossed at the time of order. I liked my mom’s fish tossed in the sesame sauce better than the ponzu on mine; I’ll go with that next time too. The regular bowl was slightly too big for me. I think next time I’ll share a bowl and add in a mochi ice cream bar. I think my brother would like the miso short ribs and I’d like to try a hand roll too.

So happy to have a poke place open up in Cupertino! Go Fish Poke Bar is clean and bright, but the space is pretty small… and so are their scoops of fish. However, you get a nice variety — 3 scoops for the regular bowl option, plus crab mix. Avocado is an additional charge($ 1), though. Boo. I would’ve given 4 stars, but my boyfriend found a wad of wax paper in his mouth after taking a bite from my bowl… uhhh. At least it wasn’t a hair?

GOFISHPOKEBAR, I AMYOUR #1FAN!!! I’m overly happy that more poke spots are opening up in the Bay Area. Now I don’t have to wait until the next time I go to SoCal anymore because what I’ve been craving the most has opened up here. So I’ve been constantly looking on Unilocal for more poke spots ever since Pokibowl opened up until I found this place. My manager also recommended going here so I came with my boyfriend this one day. It’s in the same plaza as 85 degree. We both got a large and let me tell you, large is LARGE! The price you pay for it is so worth it, IMHO. In my bowl, I got the poke mix, shrimp, and regular tuna with the aioli and the sesame dressing. Both are super good! My bf and I loved the shrimp. We both agreed that we would melt every time we took a bite of our bowls. We honestly didn’t want it to end. We also both ordered some handrolls! We got the Daily Handroll, which was salmon and Real Crab. We both had the honor of meeting Jerome, the owner, who hooked us up with the salmon skin(bacon of the sea) handrolls! He’s so awesome for doing that. Thank you so much! Everything we got from Go Fish exceeded our expectations. Go Fish is definitely our #1 poke spot out of the poke places that we’ve tried down in SoCal and up here in NorCal! Despite the distance from Fremont, the 40 minute drive is totally worth it for us. You’ll be seeing us again!!! :D I even came on my own on Christmas Eve(yes they were open!) and decided I’m gonna gift myself some poke. Did I mention best Xmas gift ever? LOL

Just so-so. They joined the trend of build your own like Chipotle, Pieilogy, Mod, etc. You get to choose 3 types of fish for a regular bowl and 5 for large. The sushi rice was good, but other than that, nothing special. Their handrolls were expensive but not that impressive. I did like how they make it only when you order. The place is too small. We were sitting at the middle tables and someone was already standing next to us ready to take over the table when we leave. Personal space please! I cant really blame them though, since there is literally no waiting area. I hope there is some way they can make it more spacious so people can enjoy their food more. Maybe we’ll order to go and enjoy it at home.
