Checked this place out based on Unilocal recommendations. We were not disappointed. Yes, it’s technically in a bowling alley — but there are two entrances and you really have no idea there is bowling. Nice diner type atmosphere, efficient service and very clean. Food was tasty — standard breakfast fare — enjoyed large portions of pancakes, eggs, corned beef hash, and hash browns. Excellent cup of coffee.

Other than being looked at weirdly when I come here there food is perfect diner style. Service is always on point and you can tell they treat there regulars like gold. Makes me want to go bowling as its attached to the alley. My go to is a breakfast sandwich but everything seems good so far.

The western omelette was terrific. Its a four egg omelette with plenty of fillings. The atmosphere is classic 1960’s coffee shop. That’s because it is. Prices are very reasonable for the area. I plan on going again.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have better reviews. What you see is what you get — Good old, tasty, greasy diner food! This place doesn’t try to be anything more than what it is. The coffee is always hot and the food always has flavor. If your looking for gourmet options like in-season fruits, locally baked bread and espresso crafted coffee, then this is not your place. Fourth Street Bowl caters to the locals, regular bowlers and morning hangovers. They serve everything from breakfast all day(which includes anything from chili bean omelette to loco moco) to chicken fried steak at night. This place is a staple in my weekly routine where the faces are always familiar and the setting ever comfortable.

Meh… everything was average. Slow service. Had to ask for water 3 times even though the diner was even busy. Very disappointing.

Can come here for bowling, pool and video games. Can come for food at the café. Can come enjoy the bar and sing karaōke! All the people that work here are super friendly and they make this place fun to hang out at!

Most reviews are about breakfast, which is very good, but there are lunch and dinner items also worth mentioning. Had the Souvlaki tonight. One of the«daily special menu» offerings. Two skewers of tasty, tender Greek style marinated pork chunks served with roasted potatoes and a Greek salad of lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives and onion. Soup and dessert comes with it too! This is my fave special, which is usually available on alternating Wednesdays.

Ok. First of all… This is a Diner. A classic Joint in every sense of the word. Vinyl. Formica. Linoleum. Pie case. It is as advertised; Diner food with a Diner crowd in a Diner atmosphere with Diner service. I love it all when that’s what I’m looking for. Anything you order comes out the way you want it and the way you expect it. Fantastic breakfasts! Perfect Diner lunches just like you want them… admit it you want them. Man can only eat so much kale, chard and sawdust before the wants a patty melt or proper breakfast with pancakes and bacon and eggs. I just made myself hungry. I’m going there now.

It was exactly what I was hoping for! A good solid breakfast with everything done the way you expect it! I had ham steak with a couple of eggs over easy and they were done perfectly and seasoned correctly. If you’re looking for a place to go without having to worry about busting your budget this is it!

This place is a hidden gem(literally hidden) inside a bowling alley. AND if there is no tournament on a Sunday morning you can often just walk in(no wait!) and get a booth! I enjoy the breakfast burger — just really good — and NOT good for ya. I asked for medium rare and got medium rare. They have a few Hawaiian specialties, I have had the loco moco, it wasn’t my favorite — a little bland, but I can see how people enjoy it. My sister who reads these reviews will never like this offering —(that I really wanna try)…Cut up hotdogs with onions eggs and a sweet sauce — served with rice. Not really breakfast — but… We took a resident of San Jose(of 50+ years) and he had never heard of it. Service is fast and efficient. OH and they have my Fav– Pepper Plant hot sauce from Gilroy — Bonus points!

First time here after looking for a breakfast spot in San Jose. First walking in, this is a very traditional looking diner which was very pleasant to see. I ordered a pancake sandwich(3 pancakes with 3 eggs and bacon) and my friend ordered corned beef hash and both were absolutely AMAZING. The pancakes were super fluffy and the corned beef hash was crispy and not too salty and needless to say, we cleaned our plates. The food also came out relatively quickly(about 10 minutes) and the customer service was warm and friendly. Must try breakfast spot!

This place is a real treat for me on three day weekends. I like coming here with a couple friends, getting breakfast, then do some bowling, then lunch, then more bowling. Great for a Saturday to start off the weekend. The staff are nice older ladies. They enjoy their jobs so you get a genuine feeling of being welcome when you are there. They make the best french toast I’ve ever had, at least with conventional cookware. Last time I was here I had french toast, eggs, bacon, and a mocha coffee. The whip cream on the mocha was hand made so it was delicious. Everything else was cooked perfectly. Always a good time coming here.

This place reminds me an old school diner. With the booths and a bar facing the kitchen. The asian lady that helped us was super sweet and nice. It’s surprising how an inexpensive restaurant can provide such a good service compare to expensive restaurants. The food we got was all yummy except I wanted my loco moco medium but got well done instead. But I still finished them. Definitely recommended this place compare to other breakfast places.

Came for breakfast and decided to give this place a try. Seated quickly and observed the the old diner vibe. Waiter was very polite and was very helpful. Tried the joes omelette with whole wheat toast, wife made her own omelette. Eggs were bland but the hash browns weren’t over done. The mix of meat and veggies were great. Ordered a pancake on the side which was perfectly cooked. Nice little feel and food hit the spot. Place could clean up better and it’s located next to the bowling alley. Probably will come again and try their moco loco. They surprisingly have a small Hawaiian menu. Cross my fingers to see if that menu is good.

It’s the café portion of a bowling alley that serves hearty all american café classics with a hawaiian twist. apparently the gravy over rice here is supposed to be super delicious, so I’ll have to try it sometime. the décor is definitely old fashioned café of a bowling alley, complete with plastic booth seats. I had the french toast sandwich(which I was super glad to find out does NOT come in a sandwich form). Four generous pieces of french toast, 4 pieces of thick deep fried looking bacon, and 2 over hard eggs was more than enough to satisfy my appetite. Service was prompt and courteous, no frills but plenty of hearty staples.
