Find-Buy-Items(FBI) is a newish wholesaler that’s opened up in the industrial area of SJ’s Fairgrounds neighborhood. I’ve passed by it quite a few times, as it’s just a few blocks from my office, but never had time to stop in until recently. I like these kinds of stores because their stock is always changing, and it’s like a new store every time you go in. Unlike nearby Costless, which relies primarily on Costco for its supply, FBI seems more organized and less chaotic. There are four sections to FBI, and here’s a quick tour: –When you first walk-in this area is filled with all types of misc hand tools, fans, drill bits, gloves(i.e., work, rubber, leather), phone accessories, brooms and a slew of other things I’m sure I can’t remember. –They have a room that sells nothing but overstock health and beauty items such as razors, razor blades, tooth care, nail polish, more phone accessories, etc. I suspect this area would have the highest change-over rate in the store. –A room dedicated to lighting and hydroponic supplies most likely used in the cultivation of… uhh…errr…ummm…tomatoes! Yeah, that’s the ticket – «tomatoes»!!! –The back of FBI consists of a huge warehouse that’s filled to the brim with gardening supplies, fertilizer, more hydroponic apparatus and«Advanced Nutrients» for growing big, tasty«tomatoes.» Service & Ambiance– The area FBI is in is sketchy, but safe to visit during the daylight hours. The interior is pretty spartan as far as décor, but the shelves are actually well-kept and the prices are clearly marked. The two gentlemen working were very pleasant and eager to help us find what we were looking for – even though we were just reconnoitering. Value– Pretty decent pricing from what I could tell, but nothing that completely blew any of is away. I did find a few items that we buy pretty regularly for work that could save me a few sheckles so Ill probably be be back for them. Overall, not a great place to visit very often unless you really, really love salads and grow a lot of «tomatoes.» I’ll visit on occasion to see what’s new, and to stock-up on a few work-related items, but that’s about it. A very tepid thumbs up from me, but I feel like there might be room to grow for FBI.
