Great place with lovely staff, friendly atmosphere, good food and nice karaōke songs. Everything here is 100% Vietnamese: it is the shortest way to get away from California and spend an evening in Saigon.

The food has always been above par here, even with the few changes in ownership ~it still has the most creative, visual menu ever & pricing is decent. The owner is very interactive & accomodating with guests and the waitresses are always ready to battle with you, via shots that is. People tend to migrate here after their retreat from the other bars. Due to the fact that Co La is next to a Phở restaurant(Phở Ha which closes at 2am) & situated on the same block that has the biggest restaurant venue infamous for its large capacity weddings, you will find very few nights of Co La being half empty. Doors open at 5pm & that’s when you get undivided attention from all the hostesses & ideal for getting one’s «ews» on(Eating With Strangers). If a tad bit more attention was given for upkeeping the restrooms, then Co La would be overall a great venue.

Not as fun as it used to be when it was Asia Bay. For a while, this spot was one of my favorites to frequent but as time passes by, it’s getting lower & lower on the list. Food & drink prices are the norm for a viet bar. But what used to make this place famous was the food. It seems like they’ve changed the cook here because the food is not what it used to be. Also the dishes seem to be more on the skimpy side. Also, they used to have Soju & Sake here which was cool because if you weren’t in the mood for cognac Hennessy or Cordon Bleu but wanted something stronger than a beer, you could get flavored soju. But… No more… I’m sure I’ll come back eventually, but when I think about going to this type of bar, this place is among the bottom of my list for now.

This place is a small bar that opens late. Only tried peanuts and hot pot, but drank here a handful of times. My friends like to go here after drinking at other bars that closes early. The hot pot was good, it was sweet with a lot of spice and flavor. Restrooms are dirty and theirs no soap at times. Also, floor is slippery in the restroom at times, best to walk with caution. Karaōke all night and more like an older crowd goes here. Always request the songs you want to sing right away, because sometimes theirs a long wait to sing. Service is usually good.
