A big RESTINPEACE shout out to 1 of the 1st, if not most humble Video Rental places in Northern California. The service was extremely friendly, I don;t know how many times they waived our late fee’s. Been shopping there since VHS tapes… I learned how to play Street Fighter 2 there and even rented my first porno VHS movie there! Such a wonderful family owned business. Even when Blockbuster and Hollywood video showed up, Cali Video survived the competition… but when REDBOX and NETFLIX showed up… I hope your happy for taking away this wonderful business from the community! Long Live California Video!

The lady working there was tiny and nice, and the selection looked pretty big for such a small store! We were able to find the movie we were looking for but the movies(not in new releases, either!) didn’t seem to be in alphabetical order. That was confusing but we found what we wanted so it was fine. My friend who has the account there was also surprised at how inexpensive their late fees are. He was expecting to pay a lot more for having his rentals for several extra days, but it came to around $ 4.

As my friend would say, «LEEEGIT!» He’s the one that has the account there but my friend and I use his account to watch all these Asian movies. haha! We pay for it and we aren’t assholes about turning in movies late and not paying for the late fees. Seriously, they have my Korean Dramas that I have seen and have yet to see! They even sell some Koreans Dramas. They also have Filipino movies and series. They have animé and hentai there. American movies. Chinese movies. Japanese movies. etc. But be careful with some of their Asian films because some of them don’t have subtitles and I was trying to make my friend watch The Dollmaster, which is K-Horror but there wasn’t any subtitles on it. Also just today, my friend and I rented this K-horror, which had horrible subtitles so that’s another thing to be weary of. This movie kept talking about the«vegetables is gorgeous» when I think it was talking about some type of curse that has happened. So I had to remove a star but aside from that this one is awesome.

This is a great place to rent movies. I can’t afford to shell out $ 5 a movie rental at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. Movies are only $ 3.50, and everyday there is free movies. Wednesday you can rent 1 get 1 free, that’s 2 movies for $ 3.5! You can’t find that kind of deal any more! I think this month they have a special, you can get 2 sodas for $ 1 when you rent any movies, so I walked out with 2 movies &2 sodas for $ 4.5. WoW!

I love California video. I still remember the first time I came here. when«Ghost» came out, and my Ate was frantically running around trying to see Patrick Swayze screw Demi Moore. Of course, everyone was out… except this place… I can’t say I’m thankful for the moment she realized this place carried Tagalog movies, too. 15 years and too many dumb dramatic Filipino movies later, here I am… I still come here somewhat regularly just because I live 2 minutes from the place, and I love supporting the good old days when people used to get off their asses and actually GOOUT to get their movies. As lazy as I am, I will never give in to the Netflix-Blockbuster movement… They’re pretty cheap, and the guys that work will always find a way to get around your late fees especially if they know you’re habitually late. like ME! Hahaha. I always thought it was really random that they had porn, hahahha, but I guess if that’s what floats your boat, then hey! Rock on!

«I never said that I love you!» Ouch! That’s a pretty cruel line to say to someone you’re dating. Or should I say, «were» dating. Anyway, that was from a Filipino teleserye that I was hooked on. They actually had it at this video store. It’s a small store that has not only Filipino movies and series, but Chinese and Korean ones, too. Don’t worry, they have American movies too. In the days of the Netflixes and Blockbuster Onlines, it is surprising that any video store is surviving. Their prices are decent. If you want a better value, you have to rent multiple movies. Each day of the week has different specials, but most of them are either Rent«X» amount of movies and get one free. And by X, I don’t mean XXX movies. However, I do believe they have those here too. Besides movies, they also do video transferring. So, if you have your graduation day on VHS and you want to preserve it to DVD, so you can show your kids how high you used to style your hair with Aquanet, then this is the place. I believe it’s $ 20 to do so. Also, as a bonus to come here, King Egg Roll is in the same shopping center! Nothing like watching movies and scarfing down some King Egg Rolls! Quick, get me my Zocor… P. S. Although they do take credit card, there is a $ 15 minimum. However, they can charge you the $ 15, and if you don’t use all of that during the current transaction, they will put the balance on your account.

uh haha. This place is excellent. I left there with several pieces of exciting thought. Número uno, the confusing systems of discounts. We’re talking about days of 2 for ones, where the third must be choosen from the bottom four rows of all shelves. And other systems that intrigued me, i like being puzzled. It will be a great feeling when i figure out the schebang here.
