Bruce I Lerman, DPM FACFAS

Dr. Lerman is the first podiatrist to really listen to me and take the time to try to solve a problem that has been plaguing me for years. YEARS. It’s still a work in progress but he seems determined to get to the root of the issue while others just wanted to write me off with hasty surgery or pass the buck off to a physical therapist and move on. He works really hard and is extremely busy and I really appreciate his efforts.
He’s also quite hilarious if you appreciate a somewhat dry sense of humor. I do. He’s really a great guy.

I had bunion surgery 3 months ago with Dr. Lerman. I «interviewed» three podiatrists before choosing him. He came highly recommended by several friends and co-​workers who had surgery done by him. He communicated all the important information about the surgery, how to prepare, and how the recovery would be. His staff were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I found him to be professional and competent as a surgeon. The best testimony is that I am back to work and pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Lerman.

I saw Dr Lerman for bone spurs. When I went to him, I was able to wear only tennis shoes and sandals.- any other shoe caused a lot of pain. After x-​rays and an examination, it was determined that I would need surgery to correct the problem. Dr Lerman explained the procedure and what I could expect in the way of recovery time. He answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable about having the surgery. Post-​op, Dr Lerman and his staff took excellent care to ensure that everything healed as it should. The office staff are all helpful, professional, and friendly, I am now pain free and can wear any shoes. I’d highly recommend Dr Lerman.

I work with Dr. Lerman and it has always been pleasant to work with him. He cares about the welfare of his patients. He also cares about his staff both at his office and surgery center. Ive seen him do the easiest and the hardest cases in surgery and I tell you he’s very experienced and great turnout. He knows his stuff.

Dr. Bruce Lerman is a great doctor, and a better person. Yesterday, he saw me for a sore big toe. He quickly diagnosed an infection and in-​grown toe nail. Having seen me for this before, he used a unique process, which he developed, to insure it never happens again. While he was not planning on doing this minor surgery, he took the time, messed up his schedule, and fixed my problem forever. How wonderful to have a doctor that really cares! I highly recommend Dr. Lerman for all of you foot issues.

Fantastic podiatrist, my whole family has been seen by Dr Lerman and we have ALWAYS been satisfied. We have been seen from ingrown toenails, orthotics to torn ligaments, all with great results, will definitely go back with all foot ailments in future. Great friendly office and staff. He is great! My husband has a really bad fracture on his foot due to a motorcycle accident. Dr. Lerman knew exactly how bad it was as soon as he saw the x-​rays and told us he needed surgery. We went in on a Thursday for an appointment and my Husband had his surgery on Friday morning. Surgery went great and we were able to get a hold of Dr. Lerman for any questions, even if it was just to check in. He is very easy to get a hold of. I love that he communicates with us. I can call him and he calls right back. I am glad we chose Dr. Lerman.

Dr. Lerman performed bunionectomies on me a number of years ago. Good bedside manner, excellent surgery, and post-​op treatment. No more discomfort from those bunions. Friendly staff. I went back a couple of years later to have the retainer hardware removed. Dr. Lerman cleaned up the scar tissue and the appearance looks even better. The only odd thing was that he mentioned that he should’ve taken care of the bunions by my pinky-​toes *after* all we went through. I wish he had taken care of those secondary bunions, which, I did not realize I had, btw. They don’t bother me now but if I was going under for the first procedure, I agree he should’ve taken care of the other bunions, as well. Oh well, they don’t bother me now anyways.

If any of you have a need for a good Podiatrist, Dr. Bruce Lerman did an excellent job today. My father has been very ill and undergoing chemo treatments, and consequently has experienced issues with ingrown toenails, a toe infection and fungal skin infection. We were not sure what to expect during our first appointment, and I was pleasantly surprised they were able to take care of him in the office today without having to schedule a formal procedure. Dr. Lerman was careful to make sure my father had adequate blood flow and performed some tests before proceeding to ensure he would heal well. The staff was conscientious, there was no wait time and they were great dealing with an elderly patient.
I highly recommend him and continue to refer others in good conscience.

I was referred to Dr. Lerman for a foot injury. I thought I had a sprained ankle and had walked around for 3 weeks in pain. Upon meeting with Dr. Lerman he recognized that I had a torn ligament. That was 2 days before Thanksgiving. He put me in a boot and ordered an MRI and once that all was done it was Christmas Eve. when I got the results of the MRI is was really bad and I thought great, it is the holidays and I am not going to hear from anyone for a while. Well, to my surprise on Christmas Eve I called his office to leave a message regarding what to do about the ligament tear and Dr. Lerman answered the call and he himself set up the post op apt and the surgery for the two days after Christmas. He is the most thorough Dr. I have every meet. He has the best bedside manner and he is genuinely concerned about his patients. I have recommended him to friends and family and they all feel the same way.

I took my elderly mom for the first time about 4 months ago, great experience. Today, not so much. Receptionist and nurse, who worked on my mom, friendly and courteous. The other nurse, old hag with short brown hair, extremely disrespectful, rude to us and I witnessed her being rude to the receptionist. It only takes one person to poison the atmosphere and this witch is an expert. Took a lot for me to keep my cool, had to respect where I was, the other patients and the doctor. She needs to learn respect, but the saying goes «you can’t teach an old dog new tricks» so I don’t expect her to change at next visit. There are ways to talk to people without THE ATTITUDE and next time I won’t tolerate it.

I saw Dr. Lerman the first time in January 2011 for a ruptured tendon sleeve. It took a couple of tries to drain it and treat it and he fixed it right up.
I went today for a cyst in my foot, and also found that my arch is beginning to sag. Taped up my foot, got orthotics and was on my way. Fast, very thorough, approachable and an all around nice man. The staff and receptionist are always great as well. Highly recommended.

I have been seeing Dr. Lerman since 1995. I have always had problem feet, and every time I go in he has fixed my problem. From bunion surgery, to a twisted ankle. I have referred all friends and family that need a foot Dr. to Dr. Lerman and he has always cured their problems that they had. Love this guy!

My experience with Dr. Lerman was great while he helped me through a Peroneal Tendon issue. He took time to really understand my concerns and educate me on my injury. He advised a proactive approach with my treatment to ensure a smooth recovery to my active lifestyle.
He really knows his stuff, is attentive and easily approachable. He was readily available and serious about getting me the information and help I needed.
I would definitely recommed Dr. Lerman.

Dr. Lerman cares about your feet. I love how he can tinker with the orthotics, and thinks outside the box.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lerman for few months. I first saw him on June/​2011 for a fracture that I didn’t know how it happened. He looked at my x-​rays and explained to me that my fracture was bad that I needed a surgery. I didn’t want to go that route; he suggested that I wear a removable cast for few weeks and see if it makes a difference. I did wear it as per his suggestion and it didn’t have any effect on my fracture. He said that I needed the surgery and left it up to me to decide when to do it.
He explained to me what my problem was and how my fracture happened.
I have seen few podiatrists before and no one was able to diagnose my problem correctly as did Dr. Lerman.
On Dec/​2011 I finally had my surgery (Kidner Surgery) and my recovery went as the Dr. explained. I had a complication after the surgery, but Dr. Lerman answered my call on Christmas eve and called the emergency room and had asked them to expect me. the ER doctor was able to call him as well and my issue got resolved (kind of). :)
He is very personable, funny, knowledgeable and smart. The staff is very helpful and friendly.
The Dr. knows exactly what he is doing and I do recommend him.

i really like dr. lerman, even though ive only visited him once. one thing i was confused on my explanation of benefits is it said there was lab work done, but im not sure what could have been done since i just had a check up. i will have to ask him the next time i see him on my visit.
he’s very friendly, funny, and makes you feel comfortable. the office staff is really nice as well.

Dr. Lerman took time to listen to my concerns as well as conducting a thorough exam, and was very patient in explaining exactly what the problem was and my options for fixing it. He was very upfront about what each option would cost, and what some cheaper alternatives might be. He was also very good about explaining the impact that each could have on my lifestyle. The office staff were all helpful, professional, and friendly, too. I’d come back, although I hope it won’t be needed. So far, his recommendations have worked excellently.

I just received a statement for my services on 3/03/2009…that’s over a year… and they are asking for payment? Hmmm.
I called their receptionist and told her that I moved from San Jose in July and that this was the first statement I had ever received (seriously). She replied that they had sent one in December (9 months AFTER the said appointment) and then one now, to the SF address. She did explain that there weren’t any fees due to the untimely statement, but I honestly I don’t know how much I like a place that has a year lag time on billing.
