A Best Airport Shuttle

I used this family owned service for San Jose airport round trip. The competitively low price did not result in anything but best possible service. Drivers on time, courteous. Loaded luggage voluntarily.
I plan to use again and will not hesitate to recommend to friends

Worst experience ever. Made reservation on line for $ 22. Had to call the day of the pick up because they never sent me a confirmation. After being on hold forever they finally found my reservation. I had to meet the driver at the furthest spot where they do the pick ups. Van pulls up looks like a piece of crap. we start driving in the guy asked me what did they tell the charge was for this trip. I reply I made my reservation online and it said it was $ 22. We’re already driving and he tells me no that’s wrong I have to call the office. He speaks to be incredibly rude dispatcher who gets on the phone with me and tells me that there is not $ 22 it’s $ 28 I told her it said $ 22 online and she said that’s too bad you’re in the shuttle by yourself so it’s actually $ 28 I told her I did not request to be in the shuttle by myself it’s not my fault it turned out that way and I was only planning on paying them $ 22. she told me to get out of the shuttle in the middle of the highway when I said to her we are in the middle of the highway I’m not getting out of the shuttle she said fine she was going to keep my luggage hostage and be waiting for me at my house to collect the rest of the money. I had to call 911 from the shuttle and tell the police that I felt like I was being threatened and they were trying to con me and withhold my luggage. the driver finally said he would only charge me $ 22 but the police told me to call them when I got to my house. I was a nervous wreck the rest of the ride home I would never ever use them in 1 million years I wonder how many people they scammed out of money by doing this.

Do not use this company.!! Driver fell asleep at wheel several times and could not stay in his lane. He also insisted on cash. This is a very unprofessional company.

I used these guys a couple of times because they’re cheap.
Buyer beware. You get what you pay for.
The early morning pickup from home to SFO is timely, but the van driver plays his music loud, opens his window in winter – I need to communicate the obvious to driver not do this. Van is old but serviceable… This alone, would warrant a 3 – 4 star.
Being picked up at the airport is where they deserve a 1 or 2 star.
We called ahead of time to reserve. Our flight lands, no car. We call dispatch. They tell us that they had us for another day. BS! LIES! I confirmed the day before by having the guy repeat to me the details.
Dispatch tells me they’ll send another car, «Please wait 20 minutes». Cars turns up an hour later! Car came all the way from San Jose to SFO to pick us up. YFKM?!!
Driver was charismatic, but dead TIRED. He was literally almost falling asleep at the wheel. It was so bad that I almost offered to drive the van or to let us out if he would begin to swerve. We talked to him to keep the dude awake. He lowered the window in dead winter cold so he could survive awake. Cabin was cold (luckily, we had down jackets from our trip back East)…better cold than DEAD. LOL!
This should obviously warrant a one star but I’m giving two stars since dispatch tried to make good by sending up a driver. Though I would rate 1.5 stars for Dispatch’s disngenuity of not having the reservation for stated day.
…Regardless of my 1ABest Shuttle adventures, my increasingly VAST experience with airport shuttles leads me to the conclusion of INCONSISTENCY with all companies. They pick you up on time, in general, but it’s a hassle getting picked up with any company FROM the airport. Sharing vans, due to late flights, is a HUGE hassle and appointment commitments never live up to when they should pick you up. You always have to wait a good amount of time and wait until they drop off others.
Best way is to rent a car or use a private limo to get you home from the airport. Private limos offer much better service (and are thusly reflected in their better Unilocal reviews), albeit more expensive.
If you have LOTS of free time to fart around and are cheap/​poor and have patience worth evying after a slog of a flight, then sharing shuttles may be your thing.
Caveat emptor (buyer beware).

This business also goes under the names Apple Airport Shuttle and AB Airport Shuttle. I think they go under so many different names so that it’s almost impossible to Unilocal them before you use them — if I’d seen these reviews, I would have stayed far away. And I would have been right to do so.
I filled out the online reservation form on their website on a Thursday evening for a Sunday shuttle from Sunnyvale to SFO. I got a confirmation email that night. Thought it was all good. With a 7pm flight, I requested a 3pm pickup, just to make sure there was extra time in case anything happened. Good thing. At 3:10, the car was nowhere to be seen. I called… no answer. Again a few minutes later, nothing. Finally, on the third call, someone picked up. They apparently had no record of my reservation. They bumbled around for a bit and then took my number and said that someone would be calling me right away. A minute later, I got a call from, I guess, their San Jose office, getting my address and information and telling me that a driver would be there in 10 minutes.
About 10 minutes later, I get a call from the driver, direct him where to pick us up, and he arrives. He helps us load up our stuff and we’re off. Fortunately, I think to say «You know we’re going to SFO, right?» because no one had bothered to ask. He didn’t. So we have to stop for him to get gas. It was 4pm before we were actually getting on 101. Good thing I left extra time.
Oh, I forgot to mention the car… a battered old car which reeked of smoke and left me with a headache when we arrived.
On the journey, during one of the rainiest days I’ve seen here, he was on his hand-​held cell phone for most of the drive. Not only terrible form for a driver, but ILLEGAL in California.
He got us to the airport, and thanks to my time allowances, we didn’t miss our flight or anything, so two stars for getting us there, but everything else about this experience was extremely sub-​par. I’ve learned my lesson about going with the cheapest — never again.

I made a reservation with them online. I realized after I submitted my reservation and got the confirmation email that the return date was wrong. I called the service and requested for them to change the return date but my departure date was still the same. They said they took care of it. Cool.
So day of departure I’m getting a little nervous because I haven’t gotten any calls or emails from them. I decided to call a few minutes before their scheduled arrival to check in with them. They tell me that I don’t have a reservation. What??? OK well I did and they send a shuttle driver over 30 minutes later. The driver himself was very odd and kept reciting made-​up conversations that he had «had» with TV and Movie characters. Hmmm…
I had very low expectations for them on the day of my return. And sure enough, they weren’t there. I ended up just taking a taxi after waiting awhile.
Then this morning, I get multiple phone calls from the driver asking me if I had landed yet. Yes… I did land… about a month ago.
One star for losing my reservation, the weird driver, never showing up for my return date (that they had reassured me over the phone was now updated) and for waking me up super early.

I’ve used these folks a dozen or so times and have never had a problem. Is the guy curt on the phone? Sure, at times. They’re inexpensive and have always been on time. That’s good enough for me.

I have been using the A Best Shuttle service for the past four years to get to and from school (about four times every year), and they have been nothing short of excellent. They have always been on time– even early, most of the time– and I have never had a problem where a shuttle did not show up. I have had successful trips each time, even given that I usually only give them a couple of days’ notice on the reservation. The drivers have all been very friendly, and the price is reasonable for taking me and my group directly to the airport. Also, if you get a quote when making your reservation the drivers will stick to the quote and be honest about it.
The person who sets up the reservations does have an accent but I have never had anything go wrong with my reservation because of it.
They are a great service that I have used successfully many times.

I have used this so called ’ a best shuttle’ three different times. Quite frankly they have failed to pick me up on time. Whenever I call to check up on the shuttle a non speaking English male would say ‘be there in five minutes’. Turns out the receptionist should have said ‘the driver just left he’ll be there in half an hour.’ Apparently the staff does not know the difference between 8:00 and 8:30. I specifically told the staff be at my home at 8:00 NOT leave at 8:00. The manager refused to provide a full refund despite the driver was the reason why I missed my flight. Don’t be fooled by the inexpensive service. They are late, disrespectful, and provide poor customer service. Take your money to a staff who actually respects and works for your money.
I literally live five miles from this company location. There should be absolutely no reason why this shuttle could not get to my home on time. Worst possible service. If I knew the shuttle was going to be late I would have driven myself to San Francisco International Airport. Ridiculous.

My wife and I have used A Best Shuttle several times over the last couple of years, and we have had absolutely no complaints.
The first time we used them was to shuttle my wife’s family to othe Oakland airport back in July of 2009. We would have taken them ourselves, but we were gone on our honeymoon so we needed some help. I pre-​payed with my credit card and included the tip, and sure enough the shuttle arrived on time to take everyone to the airport. The price for four adults, a baby and a lot of luggage was very reasonable, and everyone was happy with the ride.
Based on that experience, I used A Best Shuttle again last month for a business trip. Once again, the driver arrived right on time, and we had a nice conversation on the way to the San Jose airport.
Their vans aren’t the nicest or newest (hire a car service if you want a bottle of water and wi-​fi for the drive), but the drivers that we’ve had experience with are courteous and punctual. They call 15 minutes before arriving at your house to pick you up, and they have not failed us yet. We are planning to use them again for two trips this summer. I will update this review afterward.

Total Idiots. Do not use these guys. I gave them our flight number and arrival time. When they were not at the airport, they told me my arrival time they were using my flight number! ARGH!!! And they argued with me! (I’m the customer). Then when the shuttle finally arrived, the driver had to get gas. Totally unprofessional!

We booked the shuttle AND called back to confirm that they had our reservation. The morning of our flight, the shuttle did not show up and when we called, we were informed that they did not have our reservation.
I am giving them two stars because:
1. we were told our driver would call the night before to confirm, which is a good idea. But we didn’t receive a call and did not realize it until midnight– so we didn’t call to confirm;
2. when we called in the morning because the shuttle did not show, they sent an alternative shuttle within 20 minutes.
