Like I’ve previously mentioned, I have gone to this salon for 14 years and they have had no problem with cutting simple hair, especially men’s hair, but NEVER go to them when you want your hair bleahced/dyed. This is the first time I asked them to bleach a good large part of my hair and they had no idea what they were doing. I just went in to get my hair fixed up because I tried to ombré my ends by myself and it became all patchy(I’ve done it tons of times before, but my developer was too weak and created patches). I go in with pictures of Ombré hair and clear concise descriptions for what I wanted(I kept telling her it needed to blend like in the photos I showed her, but she had made a straight horizontal line of bleach six inches from the top of my head and bleached it all the way down, nothing blended!). She had also used a 40 volume developer, for which, if you don’t know, is one of the strongest forms of developers and will damage your hair nearly instantly. I was there for four hours trying to explain to this woman to make my hair gradient from dark to light, she then tried to put an ashy light brown/blonde where the bleach started to right where my chin is, not only did this not blend in with my dark brown hair, it created three different blocks of colors throughout my hair which still didn’t blend, so when I told her it didn’t blend, she decided to dye my ends that same exact ashy brown/blonde color which was again, not what I asked her to do, at that point I was so frustrated and tired that I started crying, and of course when that happened, she decided to use her brain and used a comb to blend the colors together better so there wasn’t a harsh line between each of them. The workers in this salon, including the owner, DONOT treat your hair properly or professionally, when drying wet hair(including excessively bleached hair), they use a brush and the harshest hottest heat setting for their hair dryers, which doesn’t only rip hair our, it also creates crazy split ends. When towel drying, your not supposed to rub your hair between a towel because that also causes breakage, your suppose to squeeze the water out of wet hair with a towel, they call themselves cosmetologists and yet they don’t do the basic things that I learned over the internet while doing some research. In the end, after all the damage and death she brought upon my hair, she still charged $ 110 and didn’t accept lower, she did mention that if I found something I wanted fixed, that she would do it for free, but I know that I am not going back there again unless it’s for a simple haircut.

I think it really depends on who you get doing your hair for you. Went here for hair coloring, and she did a good job and it was reasonably priced. I would come back again. As others have mentioned, it is a little hard to find because it is converted from an actual house to the hair salon. Having said that, the inside is small and clean, even if it looks a bit outdated. Maybe check other reviews for who to ask for. I never caught the lady’s name but she did a nice job. Younger woman.

Great for men’s hair cuts. I assume for boys as well. The younger woman barber there during the week is better than the older one there during the weekends. As with any barber make sure to tell the barber exactly how you want your hair. Can’t hate on the shop if you don’t know how you would like your hair to look, after all.

Crazy! This chick gashed my ear, clipped /cut my scalp by my side burns, cut my neck. Then she had the balls to require payment and treated to call the police for non-payment of this butchery! I have been a pretty good client for the last four years, but this woman was new. Avoid this place!

I have been going to Nancy for five years, and she always does an amazing job! I get my eyebrows waxed, and it only costs $ 7!!! I am extremely picky about the way my eyebrows look, as they are very dark. Her attention to detail is meticulous, and she is very thorough. She always has another lady in the shop, but I insist on Nancy.

Holy Shit! Unless you don’t care at all what you look like, stay away from this place. The woman did not listen to me at all, and before I could say stop she started shaving my head. I actualy got up and took off the drape off in the middle out of hopes that I could save what hair I had left.

This place is a hidden gem in San Jose. I’ve been seeing Nancy for the last 2 years whenever I need a haircut and she has never disappointed me. And get this folks — women’s haircuts only cost $ 12!!! Since when was the last time a haircut cost that little?! Probably not since the 80’s. But if you do plan on coming here, keep the following in mind: — Her hair salon is actually part of someone’s house but the front part of the house has been converted into her salon. There is no big flashy sign for you to catch this place though, only one of those white ones that she sticks out on the sidewalk every morning. — Her hair salon isn’t the cleanest compared to other salons, but she keeps the things that touch your hair clean. — Ask for Nancy! I know that her other friend cuts hair too, but I don’t know what her name is and how well she does. — Bring in a picture. If you have a visual to show her, then she will do exactly what’s in the picture. — This place is definitely mom and pop status, so bring cash! I don’t think credit cards are accepted. So if you’re looking for an inexpensive place to cut your hair but don’t want to fork over tons of $ to do so, check this place out!
