Just came here with my friends for AYRE sushi. I can honestly say that this was the worst expedience I have ever had at a restaurant. I understand that today was Presidents Day and it was busy but the business practice was ridiculous! First of all we arrived at 6:15 got a table right away, we ordered in a few minutes and then waited for 30 minutes seeing that tables that were after us have already gotten their food, then we asked a waitress to check up on our order, I don’t know if she did or not because we waited another 20 minutes before just leaving. My friend was so upset.

Service was total shit. The waiters see us but don’t even consider serving us water. It took 20 mins for them to serve us. Food was mediocre. A lot of it tasted frozen. When we finally received service(them just taking our first order) it took another 20 mins just to get miso). Into the meal we requested for extra napkins and it took 10 mins to get it. Really big issue is one the time to get it’, two we got only ONE napkin during the wait and three the waiter DROPPED it and just patted it and handed it to us as if nothing happened. The décor was pretty ok. The music choice could’ve been better. It took one minute to get the bill which is the fastest service theyve given. Save your money and dont come here.

Decent food and good all you can eat options. But… HORRIBLE service and incompetent server staff… It seems like no one here cares or knows how to work at a restaurant. They seated people not on the waitlist ahead of people on, and then had to ask them to give up the table to get back in line. Are either really inefficient or slow and have empty tables they cannot seat due to being to busy… Again great AYCE just the service really ruins it during standard hours. 30 minute with with about half of that wait staring at the empty table were suppose to have seated to. Also table wasn’t cleaned well when we got there. And food takes longer then it should to show up

What the hell happened to the service? We had to wait about 20 minutes for each order to come out. Servers are also rude as F! I only give them 2 stars because food still decent.

It is decent AYCE sushi right by my house. Not too amazing but if you are not in the mood to drive too far, this place will suffice. The price for lunch is around $ 21 and dinner is $ 25. The staff is great and always greets you when you walk in. The food is mediocre and I wish the fish was more on the cold side. The fish tasted a bit warm which threw off the freshness. But over all, the food is decent.

I come here regularly for their AYCE sushi for $ 25 because there are few restaurants around the area that offer it. The restaurant has a nice cozy atmosphere with décor that reminds me of the sushi bars I went to when I lived in Japan. They have an AYCE menu that is a subset of their regular menu, but includes many standard sushi items as well as rolls that are unique to the restaurant. The food is really good and service was quick and friendly. Recommendations: Get their AYCE deal, you won’t regret it. As you’re scarfing down sushi and washing it down with green tea, try one of their personal rolls. They’re pretty good. Don’t forget to leave room for dessert because they have green tea ice cream on their all you can eat menu as well: D!

Even though the food was average, the service here was horrible. The wait for the food was long. I had to wait up to 20 minutes once. Due to these reasons my table did not tip. However, when I was about to leave, the cashier confronted me and asked why. I then kindly explained the reason. Suddenly she grabbed our bill and threw it across the table. She then screamed and told us to just get out. Worst dinning experience I have ever had. At least I it’ll be memorable though.

I used to love coming here for a quick bite or for the ayce with friends and family, but I don’t think ill be back for a LONG time. So I went there with my siblings and opted for the individual orders. and the server, Yang, gave me a strange look, as if NOONE ever orders that. she had to repeat it to me 4 other times, just to be sure that we weren’t getting ayce. and just so you know the individual orders used to be half-off. well no more! I had to flag Yang the server to ask her about it. I wanted to know if it was still on sale if not its still fine, but just a simple question.(look at some of the older pics on the menu). apparently she thought I was being either stupid or failing miserably at making a joke. she thought it was appropriate to make it a big deal so surrounding tables could see how idiotic I was being. great service, Yang. the food seemed to have gotten crappier and smaller. just take my word for it. and remember sushi(fish with a smidge of rice) is BETTER than sashimi. I ordered the small sashimi plate– 16pc for $ 19, a mix of 4 fishes with 4 pc each. the server didn’t seem to know what those 4 fishes were. I asked and they named me 6 types when she said 4 types. but if you do the math for sushi vs sashmi. its a BIG difference. so just eat a few of those and get the rolls. get sashimi elsewhere. parking here is nice and free. small plaza with only 20mins parking up front, I think its like 3 hrs in the back and for the underground parking. bottomline, its just not worth it anymore. service here sucks. rude servers that just hide in the corner of the back counter to talk with each other. seems like only one server was even working. I think her name was Benny. so its okay if you must have sushi around rosemead/san Gabriel and don’t want to worry about parking. *two stars cause it was okay before

Pretty Damn terrible. We waited an hour for our sushi and when it finally started trickling in, it was the wrong table’s order… the waitress was very non attentive. We had to flag her down each time. I won’t be back.

I always come here for AYCE sushi! If I come for lunch, that means I won’t be eating dinner that night, because the food coma will be too real. If I come for dinner, sadly that means I won’t be having dessert afterwards. Whenever I come with my friends, good thing I come in a large group and good thing majority of them can eat a lot or I won’t be able to mark every other sashimi or roll on the menu. The good thing about Yoshino is that their rice to fish portion is excellent. They do not really put that much rice, which is good, since that means more fish! The salmon is byfar the best I’ve had. I am a huge fan of Spider Rolls and their Spider Roll has the perfect amount of crispiness. Although I wish they had Spider Hand Rolls, but hopefully they will in the future. Their green tea ice cream is sometimes a hit or miss. There are plenty of times where I’ve loved their ice cream and other times I have questioned whether or not what I am eating is really green tea ice cream. Maybe its because I’ve had too much fish that I can’t really tell the flavor anymore or maybe it really isn’t green tea. It could be because they pre-scooped it and it’s been in the fridge for a while. However, aside from the ice cream being a hit or miss, the sushi is top notch! Overall, Yoshino is my go-to for AYCE in the SGV. Affordable pricing, great service, and quality food, definitely an AYCE sushi spot to bookmark!

I love how it’s AYCE and for that reason alone it’s always worth the trip, plus the quality of the sushi is decent and the green tea ice cream is my fav!

Service was terrible right when we walked in. The waitresses were rude and seemed to be more annoyed that they had customers. When we had our AYCE paper ready she yanked it out from our table. We ordered miso soup and they didn’t give us spoons… after waiting a minute or so to get their attention I got up and proceeded to get the spoon myself. Even then I had to wait for them to get to me … The food was alright. The caterpillar roll had the most non existent eels in it. I saw and tasted nothing but avocado. I forgot another roll we got but it had sriracha on it, that roll tasted very off. This is my second time here and I remember the first was okay, but I don’t think I’ll ever be coming back due to their poor quality in service. I didn’t even get my ice cream!

I like coming here because it’s not really crowded like some sushi joints. It’s nice when you’re one of the few customers. Means they gotta pay attention to my demands LOLOL. Luckily this place close to home and probably one of the few AYCE around the area. and the fish ain’t bad. I’ve had worst. It’s also not amazingly fresh either. Like the tuna. Felt guilty when I ordered 3 orders of their tuna and we had to hide the fish under plates hehe…

Since I don’t know of any other AYCE sushi places in the SGV, this by default is my fav. The fish quality is decent; you don’t get the best slices of sushi. Some of their sushi was a bit chewy, but passable. Unlike other AYCE places, they really give you a little bit of rice on their sushi. Most of AYCE sushi places give you a crap ton of rice so you get full quicker. Definitely giving them an extra star for understanding the minds of their customers. Aside from the sushi I love their appetizers. Gyoza and the baked mussels are my favorites. Once you finished stuffing your face with sushi, don’t forget to get some green tea ice cream.

Three words: Get the Scallops. Oh my god, so delicious; I feel like I just went to food heaven. Anyway, I came here on Monday(Labor Day) around noon, and there were two tables already seated. However, our service was still slow because the waitresses were busy chatting and looking the other way. This got extremely frustrating because they took away the paper every time we ordered, so this meant that we had to get their attention to get the paper to order and then get their attention again to order. This happened every. single. time. Minus one star for service. The fish itself was of decent quality. My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the salmon nigiri. However, personally, I prefer the other style that has more rice, but that’s just a personal taste. My boyfriend, who loves eel, really liked the baked(?) unagi. The Cherry Blossom Roll was decent, but it doesn’t make you want seconds. There was a weird sauce on it that made it a bit much. The baked scallops were also covered in some sort of creamy sauce that made it really heavy. After about two pieces, I was done. TDLR: mediocre service; decent fish, but very little rice; get the unagi, scallops, and salmon.

There are two types of good sushi places. The first is high quality fish, with a simple menu, masterfully prepared by caring sushi chefs. The second is OK quality fish, with creative rolls, lots of variety, and a good price. Yoshino is definitely the latter. The nigiri comes with a tiny piece of rice and a pretty large piece of fish, but it shouldn’t be why you’re here. Instead, go for one of their rolls, easily broken up by categories like«fresh,» «fried,» and«baked.» If you’re feeling particularly hungry, go for the AYCE option, which is $ 21 at lunch and $ 26 at dinner, and includes appetizers, nigiri, rolls and even delicious green tea ice-cream for dessert. Otherwise, get a couple rolls and you should have more than enough food.

This place is … so bad. Food: Only legit nigiri they have is salmon. Yellowtail looks like theyve had it for awhile and tastes old. Surf clam tastes like it came out of a package. Albacore is dry looking and fishy smelling. Udon is a huge bowl but the broth tastes watery and is filled with napa cabbage and onions. Their grilled saba is extremely fishy. Don’t do it. Service: We were one of three parties in the whole restaurant at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon. The three waitresses were too busy counting their tip. We finished our 1st round and they didnt even look twice to come to our table to pick up our second round order. We had to flag this girl down for a while. She came by and had no idea what she was doing. ended up giving us a new menu. Wtf? This place sucks. Go to AYCE sushi in west covina. You wont be disappointed.

Not bad for AYCE sushi. But you only get 2 rounds. You really should try to order all your Desires on the first round when you are hungry & the waitress are not too busy. After that trying to get their attention becomes difficult. The portions of rice ratio on the Sushi is very little. The freshness on the Salmon, tuna, yellowtail & unagi was there. I was impressed with their Tempura plate. The batter was done right & it was crunchy. The House Special roll was very good, no carb, just mixed raw fished wrapped by a thinly sliced of cucumber. Definitely a place to come back. Parking is always cumbersome in the San Gabriel shopping centers. You may need to parking underground.

Came here on empty Friday lunch because of lent. We had the AYCE lunch($ 20.95). Truthfully, I didn’t need to get AYCE but figured I might spend that much on our lunch ordering from the individual menu anyway. Let me start off by saying I worked at a sushi restaurant for 2 years and I pretty much ate that everyday. So the best and first thing I had was the House Roll, which was like tuna, albacore, and salmon w imitation crab meat wrapped in a cucumber topped w masago. This is my absolute favorite kind of roll. It is refreshing, tangy, and delicious. If I ever come back here, I will definitely get this. Next I just ordered a ton of regular nigiri such as salmon, tuna, escolar, albacore, and Unagi. The quality is not the best but sufficient for the price. The portion of fish to rice is really good too, since their rule is that you must eat the rice in AYCE. The salmon was nice and buttery. I had to order hot tea w the meal because after eating all that fish it made me feel a little sick. I’m not sure if it was the fish itself or if it was because I ate too much. If you come here for AYCE though, eat strategically and order nigiris or some of the fresh rolls. I don’t really think the large, baked rolls are really worth it because they fill you up fast with imitation crab and rice. Lastly, they offer you green tea ice cream at the end of your meal. This really was the cherry on top! Great meal.

After getting a foot massage upstairs in the same plaza, we decided to just eat within the plaza to save time. I have seen Yoshino Sushi for years but have never gone there simply because of so many other choices in the SGV. To be honest, I’m always iffy about the sushi served in Chinese places simply because of my sensitive stomach. I need sushi to be extremely fresh or else I will feel the after affects. Yoshino serves ayce sushi for both lunch and dinner. It’s 20.95 for lunch, and 23.95 for dinner. You have a good variety of choices in their menu. My favorites is their baked scallops roll, baked mussels, and their spicy tuna roll. Other than those three items, everything else is just mediocre. Their sushi isn’t high quality, nor is it super fresh. The rice is a bit on the hard side… but, for the price we paid and it’s ayce? Can’t really complain. You also get green tea ice cream for dessert. Yum! High end sushi itself is more desirable, but what you’ll be paying will be a lot more than 23.95! So pick your poison. Personally, if it’s a casual dinner. This place will be perfect because it’s inexpensive, fast, and you can’t really have high expectations. But I would choose to pay a little more for the quality… and I would eliminated the ayce. Anyhow, the service here is good. The waitress will take your ayce order and the sushi will start coming within ten minutes, while the prepared cooked rolls will take a bit longer. I believe per our order slip, the patrons only gets a couple rounds to order whatever they want. So order up from the get go, but don’t get too greedy because you will be charged for any uneaten food per the footnotes. And you will be wasting food! All the waitresses are very nice and attentive. They’re there to answer all your questions and to serve you when needed. Good job! The place is a bit on the small side, and people come and go quite fast. So the wait is minimal. Props to Yoshino’s for hiring so many employees for good service. Again, the service is great. But the quality of the food is mediocre. So there is still plenty of room for improvement. Until the next time.
