My favorite place for beef noodle soup! I used to pass by this place all the time unknowingly since Golden Deli is in the same plaza, but since I’ve discovered it I skip the ridiculous lines at Golden Deli and come here instead. The beef stew noodle soup is definitely my favorite thing here — the broth is very flavorful, and noodles have the perfect texture. I’m also picky with my meat and they have the perfect amount of lean meat in the dish. As for their other dishes: — Cold Noodle w/sesame sauce + Chicken: I’d skip this. It’s made from a different noodle than the dish traditionally uses. Typically it’s made with a thinner, softer noodle. They used a thicker, udon-type noodle(same as the one in their beef stew noodle soup). It was also pretty bland and you could barely taste the sesame flavor — Pan-Fried pork bun: The bottoms are crispy(wish they were a little crispier though), and the bun is soft and fluffy. There was also a bit of soup inside which was delicious. Get it to share! It’s very filling — Szechuan Eggplant: Very flavorful, definitely recommend getting rice with this, it would be too salty by itself. Also pretty spicy. Never had a problem with parking, they have a decent sized lot shared with other restaurants, and theres also lots of street parking.

This place serves the most heavenly pork buns(生煎包) in the entire country. Being a New Yorker transplant, I’ve had many and I believe this is the best I ever had. I love Northern Chinese delicacies! If you like buns/baos, this is the place to go. The pork buns can be served as pan fried or steamed. The pan fried ones have a crusty bottom, made with white bao bread and a soft filling, while the steamed ones are soft entirely. Another winner is their hot and sour soup. They used fresh tofu and bamboo shoots, which makes the soup hearty. Our third dish didnt arrive we ended up cancelling it because they were so busy they had forgotten about us. If you like the things I’ve pointed out then you should definitely go there!

Not quite sure why the quality of food from this restaurant went downhill lately, maybe a change of ownership? This was used to be the place we go when we don’t feel like cooking that day. Anyways, went there yesterday and ordered the sweet and sour soup but it turned out to be too sour. The Mushroom Chicken was too watery and it only contained 5 pieces of chicken. It was a total dismay. Will never go back there again.

This place is often overlooked as everyone in this plaza is here lining up for Golden Deli. Pop on over and try this place if you don’t want to wait in that line, the food is pretty good! We arrived late as they were getting ready to close up shop. We were asked to quickly order before the kitchen closes. Ordered: Jellyfish head marinated in vinegar sauce: Crunchy jellyfish and appetizing sauce. Squid and chicken noodle soup: Super bland and tasted like nothing. Noodles were of good texture though. Hot and sour soup: A little heavy on the pepper. Pan fried pork buns Highlight and star of the dinner! Must order! Leek shrimp and pork potstickers Flavors were good but they were fried a bit too long and were burnt. Plus there were holes in the skin and all the juice leaked out. Maybe it was because kitchen was in a hurry to close up? Overall satisfied with our dinner but I do have a note about the server that was working that night. We asked for recommendations as it was our first time there. She told us, «Look at the menu, depends what you want to eat. If you want noodles it’s here, if you want dumplings it’s here, if you want soup it’s here.» Ok lady, I know how to read. Completely useless conversation. /rant over

Oh, and how TASTY you are, Noodle House! I had just gotten back from a trip and as usual, I was craving some Asian comfort food, which meant carbs, carbs, carbs. My friend is a regular here so she knew exactly what to order. Hot and sour soup, pan fried buns, handmade gravy noodles and marinated cucumbers. Those gravy noodles TOTALLY hit the spot. I took the rest of it home and even two days later, they were still amazing. There was a long line, as usual, at Golden Deli. Don’t get me wrong. GD is totally worth the wait. BUT when you’re already in the plaza and don’t feel like waiting, this is an awesome second choice. I will be back!

Love this place. Great group of people that work there, the food is top notch and the wait is jussssst long enough. I know the whole block of tofu dish is a little overwhelming to order, but it is one of the best dishes. Trust me on this.

Dinner for 2 people on a weekday Moderately busy, so seated right away It was my first time to try a Beijing duck. I knew a duck meat has its own unique smell, but it bothered me a little bit in the beginning. My Chinese friend who are from China recommended me this place to have a Beijing duck with duck soup. I don’t think my boyfriend and I are gourmands, so we thought the portions would be okay. But their portions are big enough to share up to 4 people(maybe 3 adults and 1 child or 3.5 adults lol). I took left overs and had them for my next day’s lunch and they were still good. The duck skins were kinda greasy, but still yummy! I will take my family to this place if I have an opportunity!

The Good: Food was cooked proper. The Bad: the owner(female Asian, high pitched voice, bad hair) The Ugly: I witnessed the owner pressure the waitress to solicit more gratuity from a party. Waitress resisted repeatedly, but was ordered to do so. I don’t know how they conduct business from wherever she may have rowed in from, but her behavior is not acceptable here in the USA. For anyone else who has been pressured to leave more of a tip, remember that any gratuity is extra and not part of the bill. It is your prerogative to leave nothing if the service wasn’t to your satisfaction. It wouldn’t surprise me if the IRS suddenly became interested in her operation, along with the Better Business Bureau. Two stars, only cuz food was on point. But for the sake of making my point, I had to drop them down. Seriously, though, compliments to the chefs.

I was not impressed with this place. This place was a bit small and not an ideal for a large party. There were about 10 tables and holds about 40 ppl. There isn’t much room walking around between the tables too and the place just looked very dated. Parking is hard to find since it’s in the same plaza with Golden Deli. Just like all the other Chinese restaurants, there was no service and i didn’t enjoy my experience here. We ordered 4 dishes: sour cabbage and pork casserole, sautéed vegetables, fried pork and cabbage dumplings, and ground pork dry noodles. The dishes was tasted average like any hole in the wall pages. Prices were just average and the portion was just average. There wasn’t a particular dish that i really liked. Since there are so many restaurants in SGV, i would rather try other places I have yet been than to come back here again. Tip: CASHONLY

Found this place from Unilocal, now I can’t trust Unilocal that much anymore especially for food. I ordered leek pork dumplings and beef noodle soup to go, by the time I got home opened it you can’t even believe it! Only have 5 small pieces dry beef in the soup and a lot of noodles. They charged me two items for $ 19 totally rip off! I have tried so many Chinese food places and this place sucks!!! Ps: when I opened the door ready to go in, the restaurant owner she was sneezing without covering her mouth!!! Ewwww imagine how clean this place can be!!! Bad experience never ever go back!

4.5 stars! Tasty Noodle House is indeed very tasty. I came here on a hunt for some beef noodle soup, and was pleasantly surprised with all the dishes ordered. Small restaurant with only about 7 – 8 tables, it’s located in the same plaza as the famous Golden Deli(vietnamese restaurant). Free parking lot as always in the awesome San Gabriel Valley area. *The menu states that rather than using heavy sauces, Tasty Noodle House cares more for natural flavors without the use of MSG. Lucky for them, I am pretty seriously allergic to MSG and can attest to the fact that they certainly do not use MSG(or at least not much) in their foods* Food ordered: 1) Beef noodle soup @ $ 7.99(4⁄5 stars): Soup base was on point. Kind of spicy, but not too«oily spicy» so you can taste the delicious beef broth too. The noodles are thick but not knife-cut nor hand-torn style — I personally prefer knife-cut noodles always so this was a slight bummer, but it was chewy enough for not being knife-cut. The meat was SO tender — wow! So many places undercook the meat in beef noodle soup, but not here. They also have spinach in the soup, great addition(bok choy & spinach are the better choices for veggies in beef noodle soup imo) 2) Sea cucumber pan fried in brown sauce @ $ 29.99(4⁄5 stars): Comes with sea cucumbers & broccoli. Really fresh and tasty, the broccoli was cooked tender so it was delicious. Pretty pricey but that’s expected for sea cucumber at Chinese restaurants. 3) Pan fried watercress with garlic in white sauce @ $ 7.99(3.5÷5 stars): The watercress was very tender, but the garlic flavor was lacking. I think they didn’t use enough garlic so the flavor was slightly on the blander side. Still a nice veggie dish to have though! 4) Spicy pork kidney slices pan fried in brown sauce @ $ 10.99(4⁄5 stars): The slices of kidney were pretty thin rather than the usual larger pieces I’m used to. But the overall flavor was great, a LITTLE bit spicy(not much…) but it’s good the other flavors were great so the lack of spiciness wasn’t too terrible. The kidney is tender and fresh. They had pieces of bamboo, cilantro and some other ingredients as well. Yummy dish! OVERALL I would definitely come back again. Although the beef noodle soup(what I came for) wasn’t 5 star quality, it was still very tasty and the other dishes proved to be yummylicious. At the end of the meal, I didn’t feel overly greasy/bloated; the food was made tastefully but without the heaviness & oiliness that some Chinese restaurants have. If I must say, the food here reminded me more of Taiwanese food — lighter, but flavored well :) Spent about $ 72 tip included, not bad especially taking into consideration I had the(special treat) sea cucumber dish.

Very small(maybe 6 tables) go early! Menu has lots to choose from… soups, dumplings, veggies. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant… you will not leave with that heavy feeling in your tummy. Service is friendly and fast. They speak English. Best hot and sour soup I’ve ever had!

This place has the fluffiest, lightest, pork buns ever!!! I bit into these thinking they would be the crispy, dense pork buns, but no sir(or madam), they are little puffs of savory clouds… The hot and sour soup is pretty good too. Filled with lots of nutritious, mysterious Chinese goodies and herbs. Note — this place is small(about 7 tables). Would recommend for groups of 4 – 5 or less. Also helps if you can speak Mandarin. Literally heard the lady call out«B-E-C-K-Y? Can’t read this, whoever this name is!»(Last part all in Chinese)

3 stars The wait at Golden Deli a few doors down was 25+ minutes so we decided to try this place since we were pressed on time. We ordered the green beans, sauteed spinach, pan fried buns and stir fried beef. Green beans 3.75÷5: The green beans are stir fried with dried shrimp and came greasier than I’d like but still tasty. Sauteed spinach 4⁄5: my favorite dish since it was sauteed with an absurd amount of garlic and didn’t taste as greasy as the other dishes. Pan fried buns 4⁄5: they’re really good but taste suspiciously of butter. Can’t eat too many of these since they’re really heavy and a little buttery but oh so delicious. Sir fried beef 3⁄5: I forgot the name of the beef dish but the beef was tender but the flavoring was meh. Much like everything else that came out, it was greasy. Service 2⁄5: it’s an Asian joint, I get it. I don’t think plates should come out with soap on them and the teapot should stay empty the entire duration of the meal especially with the universal sign of the top flipped up. The tea itself was from a reused bag, how do I know? The tea that came out was a faint yellow with a really mellow taste even after steeping for 10+ minutes. The service leaves much to be desired. Would I come back? Sure if I wanted a greasy meal and Golden Deli’s wait is too long.

My family and I came here on a Thursday night for dinner after finding this place on Unilocal. This restaurant is located in the plaza of Golden Deli. So, as you would assume, parking is kind of hard to find unless you get there at the perfect time! We parked on the street since we didn’t find any spots int he lot. We had a party of 5, we got there just in time and did not have to wait. They sat us down on a table that should normally sit 4. Three of us had to squeeze in the booth on one side of the able and the other two on the other side of the table. Onto the food… Shrimp and pork noodle soup — Very tasty! The portion of the bowl of noodle soup was big! Two people can share one bowl and be full! The soup base is thicker than your typical noodle soup. I loved this consistency. Beef Noodle Soup — Also good, but a bit on the blander side. I added a lot of chili oil, which made it delicious. The beef was very tender and flavorful. The noodles were cooked perfectly. The bowl was also big! Green Onion Pancake — Also very good! Not too oily or greasy, which was great! It was very light and crispy, and ADDICTING! Overall, the service was good, very clean restaurant, but very small. Be sure to go there early because you will have to wait for a table. I will be coming back soon!

How did I not know about this place? It feels like I’ve been to most of the Taiwanese-ish restaurants around here but I missed this one. They have rather large menu with all kinds of food and the prices are very reasonable. Service is good and there is ample parking(unless you come after 6pm). CASHONLY FOOD. Fried Cabbage and Pork pot stickers — very flavorful and tasty! definitely tasted like it was made to order and it was nice how there was a bit of juices inside that remind me of Xiao long bao! Shrimp and Pork Noodle Soup — this was probably my favorite dish! it tastes very homey/hearty and authentic! Most of the time, the broth is bland and they aren’t very generous with the shrimp — at Tasty Noodle House they are generous with the shrimp and the broth tastes great! Beef Stew — thought this tasted pretty good but not as good as PP Pop in MPK. Meat was tender and the noodles were soft and fresh. The broth was not flavorful enough for me. Green Onion Pancake — loved the green onion pancake here! it was very flaky and had a stronger green onion flavor which was great! Pan Fried Pork Bun — a lot of people seem to order this but I didn’t think it was that special. I would probably skip this dish in the future Watercress with garlic — ahh yes… water cress stirfried with garlic! TIPS. Try to come early. Once 7pm hit, there was a line waiting to get in. Parking can get painful later in the day too.

When you’re ever craving for some good old dumplings and noodle soup, then definitely check this place out! We ordered: 1. Hot and sour soup: One of the best I’ve ever had. The seasonings were spot on. It has that spicy kick but it’s not enough to send you sweating! I love the ingredients as they are generous with the fungi, bamboo shoots and tofu/bean curd(5⁄5) 2. Stew beef noodle soup: The broth was great. The noodles had great texture. A great choice. This comes in a huge bowl, so definitely great for sharing(5⁄5) 3. Pork and napa dumplings: You can have the option to have it steamed or pan-fried. We got it pan-fried of course. The dumplings itself were decent, but I kind of wish the filling inside were more juicy. I’ve had better elsewhere(4⁄5) 4. Winter Melon and Rib Soup: I got this to-go for my bf and he really enjoyed it. It’s a great choice if you’re feeling under the weather; and it’s a good healthy choice(4⁄5) Overall, service was friendly and fairly fast with the food. I really like how the prices are affordable and the portions are big! You can definitely go family style with the beef noodle soup and the hot and sour soup! Be aware: Cash only. Parking is good but can be limited when busy. The lot isn’t that big.

Decided to try this place since Golden Deli was closed on Wednesday. Small, hidden little gem at the end of the plaza. Run by a husband and wife team — this place houses 7 tables and a small kitchen and restroom(both clean areas) in the back. The four dishes we ordered: 1. Marinated jelly fish in balsamic vinegar $ 7.99 2. Pan Fried pork buns $ 7.99 3. Leek, shrimp and pork pot stickers $ 7.99 4. Scallion pancake $ 4.99 The marinated jelly — we originally requested no spicy on this one with the husband and the wife brought us the spicy dish and we made them redo it. The jellyfishes were crunchy and big and overpowered with garlic when they washes away the chili flakes. I liked it, but my mom ended up not liking it anymore because she bit into a small crushed pebble that luckily didn’t break her molars. We brought this to their attention and they apologized and didn’t charge us for it, yay! The pan fried pork buns are a must! Lots of filling and fried beautifully. It comes in 10 buns. The pots tickets were also good. It came in 12 potstickers. The outer wrappings were thick and held the fillings well. I dig these two plates the most. The scallion pancake was disappointing. That dish came last and was soooooo thin. The scallions were chopped so thin and it would have been cuter if it was placed in a round pancake style. It was cut in half, and it was a lot, but not as good as other dumpling places. Do not recommend this dish. Service was decent. Friendly servers and they made sure to correct any wrong situation right. The meal is served with black tea and water upon request. In the end, we paid $ 23 for four dishes. Nice to try, but probably won’t be back for a while.
