Wonderful old-​school San Francisco. Had a great experience buying pearls from Mrs. Yokoo. Save yourself some money and step off Post Street to any of the great vendors up here.

I have been going to Yokoo for work on my pearls for about 30 years. Their work is absolutely top quality, most reasonable for the quality. The proprietress is gracious, helpful and the establishment immaculate. And their jewelry is stunning. I would not go anywhere else.

I accidentally stumbled upon this place and am really happy to get my pearl necklace restrung at Yokoo Pearls for $ 40. I thought the price was very reasonable to restring a short strand (about 60 beads) of pearls. The shop is located in the business building next to Shreve & Co. It’s a small shop with very pretty fine jewelry inside. I believe I was helped by Mrs. Yokoo’s assistant? I’m not entirely sure but she is very friendly and took really good care of my pearl necklace. She photocopied my broken necklace and wrote me up a receipt in about 10 minutes. Only downside is that the shop is only open M-​F from 9 – 5. If you don’t work downtown, it’s a bit of crunch to get there before closing.
My necklace was fixed in about a week and it is perfect. Highly recommend this shop. (My friend who works at Chanel told me she brings in her clients jewelry to Yokoo for repairing. If it’s good enough for Chanel it’s good enough for me!)
