Yale Hotel

I wish I can give this place a negative star not only was this place not informing of how it was they were rude and didn’t mention anything about a time to shower just the worst hotel I have stayed at so far!

Seems like things have changed since the last review. After hours of research and coming to SF on a budget last minute, this hotel was where me and my girlfriend ended up at. Pros: staff is friendly, clean rooms, Tv, clean sheets, no bedbugs (I checked before renting the room), microwave, & minifridge. Cons: Not the best neighborhood but not the worst I’ve seen, no private parking (had to park in the alley where bums were sleeping & got a $ 66 street cleaning ticket. Other than that we got a nice sleep and saved money on a fancy hotel. Price with shared R.R. was $ 115. Minus parking ticket worth it.

As someone unfamiliar with San Francisco (lived here as an infant but no knowledge of the city from an adult perspective. until now) I was duped by the Yale Hotel’s website– which is very very nice. I couldn’t believe that such a nice hotel with «free wifi» «historic architecture» «individually styled rooms» and in «the up and coming neighborhood of Little Saigon» could be as cheap as 35 dollars a night.
What I experienced:
–Signs that said «do not leave the door open for SNEAKY CREEPS»
— BED BUG BITES
— absolutely no parking whatsoever (got several parking tickets)
— little saigon is not a real neighborhood (read: TENDERLOIN)
— when i checked out, the owner told me to keep the key because «this was my home now» (i.e. I was the first person to stay here who wasn’t a crackhead or a prostitute)
Unless you’re looking for a crack den and don’t mind a few bugs in your bed this is not for you.

This place is what you would expect from a $ 35 a night SRO. The owner is serious about security so the place is safe. The bedsheets are clean, but they have cigarette burns. There is a small fridge and a microwave in the room.
