Had the hotlink and chili cheese fries. Hella good! Nice friendly family owned business. Lots of choices(and calories :))

I waited 30 minutes for a hot dog. When my number was finally called I had toppings, napkins, drink, and chips ready for to go and they didn’t even give me a bag. I asked for one, and the guy says, «Did you pay for one?» I responded with, «I waited 30 minutes for my food!» The guy making the food was a dick, the lady at the register was super nice though, but still, the wait was ridiculous.

Hot dogs here are fine. Would like more side options. Just having hot dogs for lunch is kind of blah.

Love this place, fulfills my dirty eating spells. Just a small word of advice to them — it is great that they recycle, but keep the canned chilly cans out of site from customers.

I was really craving a hot link so I tried this place out. Considering that I ordered a simple hot link it tasted so delicious. The bread was toasted to the T. I also tried their garlic fries, which I can also say really had the garlic flavor in them. Overall, I really liked this place. I will definitely be going back when I crave another hot dog or garlic fries.

My nephew’s love for the hot dog song on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse reminded me to review this spot while driving me crazy after the umpteenth time of hearing it. «Hot dog hot dog hot diggity dog.» I come to Wazzup Dawg on my cheat day. Not so much for the ambiance. Unless you’re all about eating on sticky tables while listening to construction going on in the background, take it back to the office or walk 5 minutes to enjoy that beautiful waterfront. Their kielbasa, brat and original dog are good when I want my wiener fix. It’s true– you will get a snap in every bite. Think twice before getting the chili cheese nachos with your meal if you have a meeting later in the day. Just trust me on that one.

This place is hella bomb. I haven’t been to NYC, but based on movies that have been filmed in the big apple, it made me feel like I was. The bratwurst is bomb; veal, pork, and garlic(don’t quote me on the contents). They have a bunch of other specialty dogs, but i’m an old school guy. Get that; put some hot mustard, onions, and sauerkraut… and you’re good! Fred, the dude running the stand, is hella chill too. All the Salesforce employees are going to be hitting this place up once the tower is done being built.

Came here on a limb. I got a chili cheese hot dog and chili cheese fries and it was ok. Not as great as I imagined.

Literally a shack that they serve hot dogs out of. But they’re good and they’ve got lots of different style dogs to pick from. Cheap and authentic is good enough for me. I took off a star because the neighboring seating area smells like bums sleep there. Well, they probably do, come to think of it.

I can’t believe this place is around the corner from my office. Actually it is on the corner of Beale and Howard. This place was just fine for a good quick bite. I ordered the polish dog meal combo — the dog was cooked fresh and it included a toasted bun. The combo came with a soda and some chips. I was in and out in 15 min. They have a cute outdoor seating area and on a nice day a break from the ‘at your desk’ office lunch is nice. Really quick service.

Dog walker. Hungry with little time to address it. This dog destination was just a few blocks away. Lowfat lemon chicken sausage topped with grilled onions on a roll was ready in no time. Took another minute to layer on the free toppings like sauerkraut, onions, relish and ketchup. Meeting was about to start. Time to walk and eat this now loaded dog. Best part was both the outstanding $ 5 lunch and not running into co-workers while making a complete mess of myself on the way back. Can’t keep a good dog down.

I simply cannot trust someone who doesn’t like a good sausage once in a while. What’s Up Dog makes satisfying my hot dog craving that strikes me while at work every month or so a simple feat. I used to hit up the location under the McKesson building on Post and Market more often than I’d like to say. Though, say, Costco, is much better and way less expensive, convenience calls and Costco is driving-distance, while WUD is walkable. Chili Cheese Fries are a go-to for me, as is the What’s Up Dog hot dog. Hot link is yummy and a bit spicey, and the Polish is decent. Fries are crispy and hot, service is great. Plus it’s usually around $ 5 — $ 7 which is on the lower side of Fincial District lunches. Not a healthy option, though they do offer chicken and turkey options I personally prefer beef /pork when I’m going in the direction of sausages. Hits the spot when needed.

Positive points for being reasonably priced in the financial district. I had a Chicago dog and it was quite tasty!

You mean I’ve walked past this place for how many years and I’ve never thought to try it? So glad I did! Stopped by to pick up a quick lunch for me and a few coworkers yesterday. 2 whats up dogs, a polish, a chicago dog, onion rings & chili cheese fries for a total of $ 25 what a bargain! Everything was made fresh to order and worth the wait. The dogs had that nice snap to them. A dog was a filling meal all in itself. Especially the chicago dog. The onion rings were battered and fried to perfection. The chili cheese fries were plentiful and drenched in nacho cheese and chili. I can’t wait for my next visit. Now the only problem is choosing between the philly or the rib eye steak sammich!!! With of course a corn dog on the side just for kicks.

What’s up Dog You’re not a fad like a pog You cook up mean hot links that are legit But you’re a tad over-priced, just a bit Other than that the dogs are good I guess you have to charge that in this hood Their hot links are really tasty, and are actually spicy! I have yet to try a calabrese as they seem to always be out. The only thing about hot dogs are that since they’re a little expensive here(about $ 4 something for a dog) it doesn’t fill me up like a burrito would. However, if you’re not that hungry get one, but if you are, you’ll have to shell out about $ 10 for two dogs.

I always come back for the simple corn dog and garlic fries. This is my spot when I’m trying to stretch a dollar and not pay double somewhere else for lunch. On days when I need some air and get out of the office, its always nice to sit in the chairs under the tree and listen to the city sounds.

The dogs are what they are. Great variety, reasonable span of toppings, fairly friendly service. Why four stars? Their dining area, nestled amongst a few mature trees, is a shaded, bucolic paradise on that corner of Howard and Beale, a thing you would never, ever notice if you didn’t walk aound the building to the window where you grab your hot dogs. The occasional, crazy streetpeople can get a bit taxing, but(shrug) everyone’s got to eat, and you’ll find that particular issue everywhere. Don’t make eye contact, turn up the iPod and get your grub on.

«Hey, do you guys sell updogs?» Nevermind. That’s a stupid joke — even though I fell for it once. What’s Up Dog is my go-to spot when I don’t feel like pretending to eat healthy, and I only have $ 5 in my pocket or 5 minutes to spare. Their corn dogs are crisp and have a little bit of honey taste in the dough. Their polish dogs are also tasty — the dogs are flavorful with a little bit of kick. You can eat at one of their outside tables when it’s nice enough, as long as you don’t mind shoo-ing away the pigeons as they try to steal your breadcrumbs. Ugh — I just hate how the wind carries the smell of pee from the freeway underground directly over here… Mmm! I made you hungry didn’t I?! Okay, maybe to-go orders are the way to go. But don’t let that discourage you — the dogs are good.

What’s Up Dog has some really good hot dogs. They have a pretty extensive menu and I like coming here for a quick bite to eat. I couldn’t give it five stars because its not the best tasting hot dog ever nor do I think they use the best ingredients, but its a damn good dog. Whenever I go here I end up ordering the Chicken Apple Sausage, which is really good. The Bratwurst and Lemon Chicken are also really good, but I will admit, for as much as I’m not a fan of chicken, the chicken apple is my favorite.

The first location of the WU Dog chain. Kudos for staying in business for so long while competing chain Fatt Dog had to close its doors. It’s a nice cute trailer setup, but I seldom come here due to the limited hours open. One problem with this and other locations is the lack of protection from the elements, so rainy weather affects their business. Cash only.
