I found this guy around 1:30 on a Friday on Mission between 1st and 2nd next to the Kasa food truck. $ 3.95 for one of the best Vietnamese Sandwiches I have ever had. Crusty bread, delicious sliced white meat chicken, with none of the scary unknown pieces. Good spicing, as somebody mentioned because of the garlic your breath will be a bit powerful. Maybe a little more cilantro is in order but so so good.

This guy sets up his Banh Mi stand on Sansome st between Bush and Sutter a few times each week. I believe he is there Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, though I’m not 100% on that. He offers Banh Mi sandwiches at $ 3.50 per with the option for BBQ Pork, Chicken, Special Ham Combo and Veggie. I’ve tried the pork, chicken and ham combo and personally I think the BBQ pork is far and away the best sandwich he has. The pork is so tender and delicious, really well spiced. The veggies on there(carrot, cilantro, cucumber and jalapeño) have always been very fresh, and when you get a bite of that jalapeño… it’s just perfect. The sandwiches also have some kind of spicy mayo like spread on them, which fits perfectly with the other flavors of the sandwich. Oh he also has some spring rolls(shrimp, chicken and veggie), though they cost a bit more than the sandwiches. I haven’t tried the rolls, but I hear the shrimp rolls are quite good. In short: $ 3.50 for a delicious sandwich? You can’t beat that in the financial district. *Note: You will have pretty terrible breath after eating a sandwich, just a heads up to have some gum at the ready.

Working in the financial, your option gets quite limited when it’s been for 4 years, its either expensive salad, soup, or spending an arm and a leg for a decent burger. I sometimes need a quick, cheap lunch that is filling and good. I walked by this vietnamese sandwich stand and couldn’t resist the price, $ 3.50 for BBQ pork, special combo ham, chicken, and Vegetarian. Everywhere around the this area in a radius of at least 1 – 2 is non existence for this price, one spot is $ 6 and the rest is in chinatown! that is cut throat! I am from San Jose, and sandwiches never ever go above $ 4.00, even at the best spots. I’m happy this new banh mi spot moved into the area. WELCOME!
