Have been coming to this bar as a favorite for a few years now. They made a mean bloody mary and have so many good beers on tap! The staff are great and its probably one of the best places to catch a game. Pro Tip: You can order a pizza from Patxis next door and bring it in — they don’t mind. :)

My favorite bar in Noe Valley. Large selection of beers on tap, lots of tv, cool neighborhood people, great service. The place is clean and looks good. They have a patio which is great on warm days if you want to come as a group of friends or even on your own.

Great spot with loads of quality taps. Lots of screens to watch games and friendly staff. Nice beer garden for good weather. A bit pricey — $ 7 for a beer. Great neighborhood.

Pretty good for watching football. Lots of TVs with many games on. They don’t serve food in house though. If you order food, they get it from a restaurant nearby in a takeout container. The beer selection was very good and the cocktails were decent. Cool neighborhood…

Best Bloody Mary I’ve had in the Bay Area. Hands-down. The bartender was friendly and knew exactly what she was doing — no garbage mix, just straight and simple with a generous serving of Tabasco(she asked whether I wanted it spicy). The garnish was amazing, too. Knocked a star because they weren’t letting people out onto the terrace.

This joint has an awesome back patio. Its three levels which allows you to find at least one spot. On a hot sunny day its as if you are somewhere else. The brews and bloodys are delicious and the bathrooms are surprisingly clean. Good stop if you want to read and grab a beverage.

I’m not a bar person, and I loved this place. We came here for the super bowl. Free food, great beer and a garden!!! This is why I’m giving this place a 5 star. Because I was able to stay in a bar for 4 hours without going crazy. Inside was other story. Too crowded and two noisy(again, I’m not a bar person). I’m pretty sure I’ll be there for the next super bowl!

Huge and regularly updated selection of beers on tap — including good stouts, Matilda, and sometimes also Fort Point. Decent TV screens for various sports, a sizeable beer garden, and Free BBQ on football Sundays too!

Live just up the street and this is absolutely hands-down the best bar in the neighborhood. Something for everybody really. Little enclosed — but open to the street — smoking room at the front, small patio at rear, and a long bi-level main bar with a dozen or so screens showing a variety of the sports du jour. Huge ale selection and prices are decent. Plastic happily accepted. Bring in your own food, or order in from the neighboring pizza and pasta places. Friendly crowd of, mainly, locals. Lots of euro expats, especially during the soccer games. Wide age range. Staff are uniformly great, friendly and efficient folks. That’s what keeps me coming back. Special shout out to Declan, Rikki and Linda.

As my friend is addicted to Easy Breezy(ok, it is really good), we had walked past Valley Tavern countless times and I’d commented on wanting to try it out. So on our bar hopping day drinking event on a hot San Francisco Saturday, Valley Tavern was my first stop. The place is huge. Long bar, with a number of booths across from it and past it. There are two up front areas — one of which is a designated smoking section with it’s own door that I thought was an interesting touch. The beer selection is actually pretty good. Not a pure craft beer bar, but they did have Almanac on tap and a number of other local craft breweries which I appreciated. The staff was also very attentive and helpful. There are pool tables somewhere, and they grab food from neighboring spots. Now for the true highlight of the bar — the backdoor patio/beer garden. Ok, first you hit this back foyer type area, which is the perfect spot if you’re by yourself and want to read or get some work done and enjoy your beverage with natural light but not outside. Then you reach the three tiered back patio: The bottom level has a table but is really there if you can’t get higher seats. The second level has 4 long wood booths. Depending on the way the sun is hitting or popularity, you might be sharing one of these. The third level has one dedicated booth(which makes it feel a bit like a private VIP section) and another which was closed off that they may turn into a quick bar on popular days. The outdoor area does close early due to noise, but the amazing Irish bartender was serving us out there. If I’m in Noe Valley and want a great weekend day bar, Valley Tavern is it.

Right down the st from my house, local pubs are always the best. Enough TV’s everywhere so you can catch the games and a huge beer list. Did i mention that they will grab food from across the st? perfect idea.

The best Sports Bar in San Francisco is the(Noe) Valley Tavern. Televisions galore adorn every higher wall in this establishment. TVs in HD and nice and big easily create an environment with no bad seat in the house. Great beer list on draft as well and prices are fair at $ 6 a craft pint. They even serve grilled sausages of different variety for FREE on game day. Say what you want about Noe, the Valley Tavern is the soul of this part of town.

Just moved to the area so came here looking for a place to grab a drink and watch the games. Overall was very pleased with the experience the staff was friendly and the drinks were good(bloodymarys). Would definitely come back here again and seems like it would be a great place to hang out and enjoy some sports games.

My husband and I were in town and staying in the neighborhood. We stopped in on a Thursday afternoon for a couple of drinks after touring Alcatraz. The place was pretty empty except for a few regulars at the bar. The bartender was friendly and greeted us as we grabbed a seat. Nice selection of draft beers and all were reasonably priced. Would definitely stop in again next time we are in the area.

I bring anyone that teases me for moving to Noe Valley here — and it does a pretty good job of soliciting an ‘alright, I guess it’s not too bad’. They have a solid beer selection and nice little patio and plenty of screens playing the game. That being said, do not try their ‘specialty’ drinks. Their tika masala bloody mary was hands down the nastiest thing I have ever drank and their pickle back is pretty gnarly as well.

Great beer selection. Great crowd and atmosphere for sports. We have been watching postseason Giants baseball here, and always have fun. Only negative is that beers are on the pricey side($ 5.50-$ 6.50 a pint).

Good beer, good sports, I come alive in the day time! ;) Valley Tavern is the perfect place to grab a beer and watch the game with your friends. Like Stuft Pizza in Milpitas, their walls are lined with TVs. Besides the full bar, they have booths and tables scattered throughout this sports bar. If you’re not sitting at the bar, the servers will come around quite frequently to clear your table and check if you need anything. What’s even better than the great atmosphere is the *secret garden* in the back. All the way in the back, they have a table set up with salads, breads, hot dogs, cheeseburgers, and even pastries. It’s free for the taking, but please leave a tip for the cook! … Go Niners!
