They have moved! It’s 5820 Geary now. More importantly, they close at 7pm on Sundays, not 8. Because i received this information at 7.30pm on Sunday(when i was all set to go there), i am yet to visit them. and hence 3 stars. Once i do actually go there, i’ll give out more decisive stars.

This place is open until 8PM on weekdays so that’s a big plus. A men’s cut is $ 12, $ 20 for shampoo as well. The owner, Valerie(or Connie, she goes by both), is super nice and she did an excellent job on my hair. She was very easy to communicate with, but I keep my hair short so there’s not a whole lot I need to stay. I’m new to the neighborhood and I’m delighted to call his my new haircut place.

Been coming here since they first open in 1995. Connie is like a sister to me I been coming here so long I really just let her decide how to cut my hair since I feel she knows how I want my hair every time. I would always call ahead of time to make sure she doesn’t have any appointment before I get there so I don’t have to wait. Cut and wash for $ 20 isn’t bad at all.

Great haircuts, good price and Connie can cut my crazy curly brown hair well. A little, hidden neighborhood gem!

I’ll just copy and paste Kay’s first part, because it starts the same as I’d write: «Connie’s a really sweet lady. I dropped in around 1 pm on a Thursday, and there was no wait at all. She was really gentle with my hair, and I felt like she paid a lot of attention to detail(because I was in there for almost an hour and that hardly ever happens). We made some light chat while she was cutting my hair.» I was razoring by, as my regular place is closed on Monday, so I stopped in this off-the-beaten-path place. I asked for something specific with my hair, which I got, which was nice — short as she could go with just scissors. A funny incident. She saw a great parking spot outside when cutting my hair and exclaimed such. My girlfriend said jokingly, «Oh, you want me to hold it for you,» to which Connie said, «Could you???» Connie then put down the scissors and rushed for her keys while my girlfriend stood in the spot. How often do people take you up on an offer like that? It was pretty hilarious. There was a little confusion about the price when it was done, so if I were you I’d disregard the sign and ask how much ahead of time, if that matters to you. For my scissor cut, beard clipper shave, shampoo and conditioner, it was $ 20. I recommend it for you folks that want a nice, simple haircut! Then write a review afterward; it looks like she averages about one a year.

I have been going to this place on and off for over five years now. The only reason that I don’t go there all the time is because I live in San Jose, and only come to San Francisco to see my family. Anyway, I had an interview coming up and since I did not want to try a new hair stylist, I took an opportunity to go see Connie, since I was in SF. As always she did very good job(my girlfriend, mom and sister loved it). She used scissors instead of the buzzer, spent close to 40 minutes on my hair, washed it and only charged me $ 20(its $ 12 with out wash). To compare, for my previous haircut I went to Pure Beauty, got charged $ 30 and the hair cut was not nearly as good. Plus her place is conveniently located next to Geary street, so I usually go get my groceries after I am done getting haircut. BTW I think the phone number provided is wrong, the # that I got is (415)752−7811

I hate to give Connie such a low rating, because she was super nice. It’s just me being a baby about getting a burn from the eyebrow wax that she gave me. I’m all paranoid about any possible scarring on my face, especially if I want to become a dermatologist. Who wants to see a dermatologist with a bunch of scars on her face?
