Ask Chris Chan about the time he and Bruce Lee had been visiting English girls on the base and had to leave quickly… Jumping from rooftop to rooftop thru Hong Kong! He doesn’t tell stories often, but when you can get a story out of him it is quite valuable. Real deal Kung Fu.

My experience with US Wing Chun has been nothing but great… I started Wing Chun when i was younger but never really put my heart and soul into it so i didn’t pursue it. and went to other martial arts that seem more cool with different colored belt and all. Then, like many people i saw the movie Ip Man, and that started my journey with Wing Chun. I researched many schools and found this to be one of the oldest and maybe even the first school, but more importantly Sifu Chris Chan has trained directly under the Legendary(Yip) Ip Man, i don’t think there is another school that can say that unless you train in China. Most Sifu now are under a student of Ip Man or a student of a student of the Grandmaster. I would like to go as close to the Grand Master as possible. Granted that there are many Sifu out there that are great but to me i wanted to learn from Ip Man himself or someone that is directly under Ip Man. If lineage is important to you as to me then look no further. That being said i was afraid that Sifu Chan stop teaching since he is getting up there in age, but even at his age now(in his 70’s) he is still teach and still showing his power and the power of Wing Chun. Also Sifu Chris Chan has many master that he has trained so my 2nd question to myself is: Do i want to learn from a Master or a Master of Masters. There are different classes. beg, int, and adv. Most people like myself want to jump right into lesson with Sifu Grandmaster Chris Chan.(hmm that can be a big mistake because that is the advance class) in the advance class you are to jump in and follow, but if you don’t know anything that is hard to do. A lot of new student have been frustrated and quit thinking no one is there to help them or there is no instructions. The instruction will come in the beginner classed. so do yourself a favor and start with those classes first then come check out the advance classes. This has been one of the best decision i made to join this family. I have learned so much and learning more in every class and every session. I have gained Power and Speed just like it was advertised. Lastly, when you do decided to join then club make sure you give it a good commitment. 1 – 2 years to get a good understanding. babies do not learn to walk in a day. and you can not learn kung fu in a lesson or a month. if you take a 2 hr class for two times a week then that 16 hrs a month. that less than 24 hours! after the first month they say it do not work and quit when they do not realized that they never even started. Do not cheat yourself and give up too soon. Give it enough time to make the educated decision about the school and about the art. i think if you start something you should finish it!!! but that is me.
