This place is new. This place is clean, This place is worth it. The Inn at the Holy Grail is a recent entry into the Residence Hotel business here in San Francisco. Location for the inn is pretty good as far as transportation capabilities around town. One short block off Van Ness, roughly 120 feet off Sutter, about 60 feet off Polk, the inn is served by several bus routes. You can reach just about any point in the city with a short bus ride from here. Unlike several of the residence hotels in the city, not to mention several within walking distance of here, The Inn at the Holy Grail actually is clean and comfortable. That’s right, CLEAN! You can actually sleep on the sheets. You can actually put your head directly on the pillow without having to wrap the pillow up in a t-shirt. The bed is comfortable and not using a mattress wrapped in plastic. I had a room there for a week and was thoroughly happy. I chose a room with a private bath and was glad I did. Not because the community restroom was nasty or anything like that. I just wanted my own bathroom. That being said, the bathroom was as clean as the rest of the establishment. No mold was a big suprise. The owners do take pride in their facility and it shows. The Inn does not have that many rooms so planning ahead will be necessary. One down side to the inn, they do not have TV. OMG what the heck is one suppose to do without TV? Read, write, catch up on old books, draw, what the heck… you might even become smarter. Also, who would want to stay indoors in this neighborhood. Located in Tenderloin Heights, you will be located in a mecca for entertainment. Yea sure, hookers, winos and homeless around but simply stay out of TL and move more southerly. Restaurants, bars and shopping out the wazoo. Sandra does a great job with The Inn at the Holy Grail. It’s quiet and clean as well as having a price that will not break you. Give it a try.
