In the past few years I’ve used Tara for 3 jobs and have been completely satisfied each time. I had a pretty hard time looking for someone to do trenching work in SF. Not being connected in the construction industry, I tried my hand at Google searching«San Francisco Trenching Companies» and it led me to a Yellow Pages type website with guys from out of the area and out of date contact information for companies that no longer exist. I found Tara on Unilocal and was skeptical at first since there was a review or two(no longer here) that mentioned Eoin’s Civil Engineering degree. I just thought it was weird someone would know his educational background from having him dig a hole in the street, but gave him the benefit of doubt and asked him for a bid for some trenching work to help relocate some utility lines. Eoin’s bid was very competitive and when work started he and his crew were completely on top of things as far as special requests(being extra careful around some of the neighbor’s plants/structures) and arranging PG&E inspections such that the job would get completed in the least amount of time. He didn’t even flinch after discovering he’d have to drill through a 24″ thick concrete wall(no extra charge)! After the awesome initial experience I used him again to dig a sewer and to set up underground utility service for my parents’ house and both were executed flawlessly. He knows his way around PG&E and DPW which is definitely a time saver if you’re dealing with those byzantine organizations. Too bad all contractors can’t be this easy to deal with.

These guys went way above our expectations. The other companies we had come out to our house to estimate the cost of replacing our sewer were at least $ 1500 higher. One big company declared that both the tree in our yard AND the big tree in our neighbors yard had to be removed for the job. Eoin assured me neither tree had to be removed and he and his crew(Marty«the beast,» Scottish John, and Jose) trenched through our uphill facing driveway with ease. After the pipe was replaced and the dirt was back in the hole, the crew patched the driveway and it looks just as good as the concrete we had done by a concrete company in our backyard. Hire these guys

Eoin was the answer to my problems. My old electrician screwed up on upgrading my 60amp to a 100amp home. He didn’t informed me PG&E require me to trench the block to put in the correct conduit. In order to meet PG&E underground wiring code, I had to find another electrician and trencher. I couldn’t find a reliable contractor who had the correct permit along with knowing the rules of trenching for months. Prior to Eoin, I went through at least a dozen trenching contractors. Then my new electrician suggest Eoin. Eoin knows his stuff and worked along with PG&E and the city regarding the project, but mostly with PG&E. He worked quickly and was mindful of digging through my neighbors property as well. Eoin was also available for any and all questions before during and after the project. He’s very patient which is important when there’s multiple parties involved. If friends ever ask if I know a good trencher who is pretty on top of his assignment, I would definitely recommend Eoin and his team. I would hire him again in a heartbeat. As a female, I’ve experienced so many frustration with contractors snubbing me, talking to me like I’m hopeless, etc. Eoin was very respectful of me and I really appreciate it.
