It only takes one person to ruin everything. It was an unfortunate and isolated incident that happened at a club. My thoughts and condolocences are to the family and friends of the victim and Yes… even to the assailant who is going to have to live with it for the rest of his life. As far as the club and the business, what you think? Now… I’m an insurance agent. Assault and battery, loss of income, neighborhood outrage and distress, local authorities(sfpd), neighborhood watch clubs, Telegraph dwellers, Alcohol, firearm, and tobacco authority. All of this distress over one person’s action. It was a terrible act of violence and I am outraged by it because I am also a neighbor that lives a few blocks away from this establishment. I have frequent this establishment on numerous occassions and trust me it’s as safe as any other clubs in the city. It was just very unfortunate and isolated event. I am a neighbor and also a patron of this establishment and I hope that this place don’t suffer the consequences of an individual’s action.

I like it that there’s 4(5?) different dance floors. Was here for NYE ’10 and the crowd was fairly mixed and didn’t seem to pretentious(unless I’m pretentious myself, and I didn’t notice it har har har). The first top floor had some bachata so that’s quite unusual and satisfied my latin fix, if only I knew how to dance it better. We pre-drank, so I only got one drink there, but it did seem watered down. Overall not a bad place, and maybe worth exploring it a second time if only for the crowd and the variety of dance floors. On a side note, this isn’t a reflection of the place per se, but at the end of the night while walking outside some of my friends got heckled by some dudes and got a gun pulled out on them. Hell’uva way to start the new year!

If you can’t afford to take a trip to Asia, just come here on a Friday night. Nothing wrong with Asians(as I am one myself) but I like me some diversity. It seems like everyone here was speaking in Chinese. Small club. Stuffy. Eh.

I went here for a Halloween party and well, this is an okay venue, but nothing special to write home about(but enough to Unilocal about!). The place was jam-packed with people, but since it was a guest-list only type event, it sounds like I avoided all the douche-ness that others have noted typically inhabits this venue. There’s a few different rooms for dancing and different music in each, which offers some variety. The smoking room is in a center hallway that you need to walk through to get between rooms — if the door is open you get a nasty whiff.

I first went to Suede to check out the venue when it was hot last year. The next few times were for friends’ birthdays because I felt obligated. Now I won’t even go for anyone’s birthday, I’d rather be a jerk and stay home. The ventilation(or lack thereof) in this place is horrible. It gets so muggy and gross that I’d rather not even bother. I’ve given this place so many chances and each time it just doesn’t get any better. I can’t stand sweaty backs pressing up against me all night long. I just can’t stand it. This lone star is for nice security and efficient bartenders.

Cover: Yes — varies from night to night, so it’s best to get on the glist Dress Code: Yes Line: Not too long at all, and it moves pretty quick Décor: Pretty nice and clean Drinks: Fairly priced Nothing really stood out for me with this place. I don’t plan on ever coming back here unless someone else is holding an event here. One time was enough.

5 stars because this place and my friends succeeded in messing me up for my 21st birthday indeed. I haven’t gone back since though. I plan to explore the SF world more until i run out of places and maybe i have to come back here. AMFs here were purely disgusting though. i remember we kept on asking for sprite or some soda to dilute the drinks because it was way too strong for us to even take a sip out of it. spacious dance floor. there is an upstairs dance floor/bar. It wasn’t that crowded up there compared to the main dance floor. there’s a stage for you to show us what you got. i was up there for a good amount of time with my friends of course. other than that. i don’t remember much other than alot of my friends came out for me, took pictures, drank with them. in the end… alcohol hit me all at once after the party was over. ended up telling my friend to stop the car at various places in SF so i can do my post-party thing… I definitely marked my territories on my 21st birthday… why is becoming 21 such a BIGDEAL!!! hahahha

Hands down the worst lounge in San Francisco. I was forced to attend this dump for a friend’s birthday party. Never again, and that goes for everyone that came. — I hate hate hate when the line outside a bar is so long, it seems to wrap around the block, making the wait seem endless. However, once you enter the bar, there’s no one inside. WTF, why is it so empty? That is bullshit! –The birthday guest list closes at 11:30, it is 11:27 and you are going to tell me that it’s closed? Again, that is some bullshit. «Well, I understand that it is not 11:30 yet but the guy with the clipboard standing outside for the guest list is no longer sitting in his designated area so technically the guest list is now closed.» I was so furious and I tried to talk to management but my friend told me to calm down because he didn’t want us to get thrown out before even making it inside. But seriously, word of advice to management: YOUNEEDTOBEMOREORGANIZEDANDYOUALSONEEDTOFOLLOWWHATYOUADVERTISE. –The cover was $ 20. WTF? This bar is smaller than my garage and the sound system sucked, my stereo sounds better than your pathetic speakers. Yet, you are charging $ 20? To add to that, the ATM machine was broken so they made us leave the building and use the ATM machine next door. No wonder you’re charging so much, you can’t even afford repairing your ATM machine. –I don’t understand the concept of patting all of us down, including the females. They did it twice for us. Supposedly, I looked like a threat for them to do it twice. To begin, this bar is located in a «safe» area in SF, the crowd consists of Asian nerds… but of all places in SF, this is one of the only bars I’ve been to that is ridiculously tight with security. Unnecessary and hilarious, especially after looking at the crowd. I can complain more and more about this pathetic«lounge» but I’m sure this place will go out of business give or take 2 to 3 years… hopefully sooner. As far as the birthday boy and all of our friends, most of us ended up leaving by 12:30 to go to another bar. Yes, it was just, well, THATBAD. Save yourself some time, money, and effort by taking your business ELSEWHERE. –If I could… ZERO-kiss my ass stars.

5.24.08: First time in San Fran time to party Hardy! Knew the promoter so I got in for free didn’t have to wait in line. Arrived at 12am. It was very crowded inside and the layout was a little weird, or maybe because it was small. I really like the first room with the bar. Very nice. The second room however was small, that’s where the party was. The DJ was on the left side of the room which didn’t make sense to me. Upstairs was nice and free. I liked how there was so much room and air to breathe. Drinks are A-ok. I wouldn’t come here again. The music was good but the crowd was weird. So it was an eeehhh thing for me. Next time I will conquer the night life! Until next time San Fran.

Cloud 9 is the event name and it was a Visionshock event — shameful really. We went with a comfortable expectation that it would be if nothing else a pretty good VS night. Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Guess again. It was so lame. First off, I felt like I was walking into a highschool dance. Everyone is standing idle around the perimeter of the dance floor — not knowing what to do — all wall flowers . Moreover– no one is at the bar ordering drinks. So we had no problems getting our drinks like jump & jack flash. Here, my local friend Po suggested we try a shot — indigenous to SF — called Fernand — in the same family as Jagemeister I’m told with a more licorice taste. Pretty good actually. But back to what’s at hand — which is a wack club with wack music with a wack crowd. To make things worse — one of the bouncers swears up and down he knows me — to which I say — look, I’m from LA. and he goes — me too. I just moved up to SF7 months ago, blah blah blah. I’m like — trust me, I’m really good with faces — I KNOW I don’t know you. So finally he backs off and goes — Ok ok ok but I DO know I have seen u somewhere. H’yeah — nice try bucko. I have truly been spoiled by the nice interior design of LA clubs, but honestly I wouldn’t have been so snobby about the club’s — what looked like– unfinished interior if the music was tolerable. But the djs were playing hits from a few years ago. The only good thing is we got out of our taxi and literally headed straight into the club — absolutely no wait time. But then again, we had hookups and knew the bouncer. The upstairs to this club has a more finished look than the downstairs main room which has the biggest dance floor. Upstairs has another bar and a few tables, a smoking patio room, and some pool tables and then another 2 rooms with dance floors. Anyways, I would have much rather we gone to a local lounge or bar instead. We were so disguntled by this place that we tried to salvage the rest of the night and so we checked out Gravity in North Beach.
