I’ve been coming here for lunch on and off for the past 2.5 years since my project is walking distance away. We usually get here around 11:40am for lunch and there’s usually no line to a very short line. Anytime after 12pm and there will be a decent wait and this review isn’t applicable. Service is quick and sandwiches are as expected. The place itself is small with maybe 10 seats to dine in, but we’ve always taken it to-go, so not a big deal for us.

Their restroom is not available to customers and the employees don’t speak English. Don’t waste your time.

Um. Wtf. Old hispanic guy taking my order stops and asks, «ni hao ma?» I stare at him blankly, and keep doing so until he asks, «are you from china?» I give him a curt, «no.» Unfortunately he doesnt take a hint and asks, «hawaii?» I stare at him for a few seconds and cut him off with a «i was born here.» He apologized but wth. I could understand if you’re trying to make conversation with the only two people who walked into your crappy subway store. But seriously. Don’t be creepy and racist and learn when to stop asking stupid questions.

This is the best subway that I have ever been to. Thank you Sandra(spelling?) For the awesome sandwich and your kind manner tonight. You saved my life.

This is one of the best Subway Sandwich shops I’ve visited. The employees are friendly and it’s something every consumer look for when patronizing dining establishments. Restaurant facility is very clean so that is always good to know. If you work in an office building nearby or just passing by, then this is definitely a great spot to visit. Being health conscious? This sandwich restaurant is your answer. It’s great for everyone since it is a healthy alternative to fast food. This location is a little small which is a downer. Some customers usually order their sandwich to go. It’s nice to have a Subway here. I’m definitely coming in again when I need to satisfy my sandwich cravings. Here are the Hours of Operation: Monday — Friday: 6 am — 12 am Saturday: 7 am — 12 am Sunday: 7 am — 11 pm

This was your typical Subway –except that the two guys working there didn’t know anything except how to make sandwiches and how to ring them up. They were totally confused when I asked about the ‘Free sandwich with a $ 25 gift card’ and they weren’t quite sure which sandwiches were available for the kid’s meals. The place is a little cramped with no tables, but they do have a counter and stools. Parking in San Francisco is always tough — we were lucky to find a space about a block away. It’s close to the New Conservatory Theatre Center, which was our ultimate destination.

I’ve been the duke here for the last few days and I just want to say that theses guys make sandwiches pretty quick. You go in and see a line of 10 or 15 people and they still get through them in about a minute each. I usually go there on Tuesdays for the meatball sub and Wednesday for the Turkey. Put in a bit of Sriacha cream sauce and I’m good to go. Not a place for a date, but if you want to save some money, it’s easy and fast.

This is a good late night spot near downtown. I come here once in a while It’s a little spot but can find a place to sit. Friendly workers, $ 5 special is the best you can do to fill yourself up

What kind of restaurant does not allow patrons to wash their hands before eating? I understand if you don’t want your restroom open to the public, but if that is the case then at least have a hand sanitizer dispenser on the wall or something. The employee told me she could give me a wet napkin, but I could not use the soap and sink because it was for employees only. I left to find a different place for breakfast that actually cared about hygiene.

Balling on a budget? Come here for the $ 5 daily meal specials. Well technically, it’s $ 5.44 including tax. This Subway is way nicer than the one on Market street, heck it is technically in Hayes Valley. I appreciate the workers changing their gloves after every sandwich is made. They do not go skimpy with the toppings and the ingredients are fresh since there a lot of people especially during the lunch hours. Sometimes I like to sit here and watch outside the window towards Market street and watch SFMTA agents stop people off the bus for a fare inspection. I can’t hear what they are saying, but it’s like watching many episodes of People Behaving Badly LIVE! All in all this is a typical Subway like with any other franchise. They with the same ingredients, price may very depending whether or not they participate in the national promotions. And after the foot-long scandal with the sandwich being a few cm shy of a foot long, I kinda wanted to take out my ruler and check myself. Here’s a quick tip: fill out the survey on the back of the receipt online for a free cookie on your next visit.

Quicker and friendlier than the location on Market, with less sass or bums asking for cash. 6 inch veggie delight will only set you back $ 3.75, now thats a cheap lunch.

I only go here because I forgot to FAX my sandwich order at Ted’s Deli(which can take up-to 25min + to get). Just like many other franchisees, they are a bit tight when you want extra goodies: I always get extra pickles but they never put EXTRA. I want extra like it was once a full pickle in there on my club. Not just a layer. There is one girl when you walk in — she yells at you«Welcome to Subway!» it’s kinda frightening. One time, their soda fountain was«out of order» and she said go ahead and get a drink from the bottled fridge(behind you). She charges you extra(when you think it was comp’d because their fountain was«out of order» and paid the extra $ 2 for chips and the drink already.

Typical subway assembly line, small space but efficient and quick with orders. Been there a couple of times, and never had problems. Everyone there has enough common sense and courtesy to get your food and move on with your life. Thanks subway for providing an affordable alternate sandwich.

This Subway is WAY nicer than the one on Market or the one on 6th St. The staff are friendly. The food’s consistent. Nothing special really but just way cleaner than others in the City.

Buy a drink and 6″ and get another 6″ free! Swooppp. No it’s not a Groupon or a LivingSocial deal, just the regular newspaper cutout. OLDSKOOLSTYLE. Sometimes you can find a free cookie coupon online, but I’m trying to get like Jared so fuck that.

I wanted a $ 5 footlong on my way home. Since Subway decided to be cheap about a year ago and stop selling half of their sandwiches on the $ 5 menu, I rarely go there now. Tonight, I was just going to order a BLT $ 5 footlong. They were all out of bacon. So Carlos P. gave me a free upgrade to chicken breast. Not only that, he greeted me and was very polite. Had he not upgraded me, I probably would have left without buying anything…

I have been showing up for breakfast at this Subway around 6 days a week for the past 2 months. No joke. Subway has a 6″ flatbread breakfast sandwich and a coffee for $ 3… this has heped my breakfast budget in so many ways it isn’t even funny –especially since I will normaly spend $ 2+ on just coffee(not that the Subway coffee is what you’ll find at Café La Vie on Octavia or Cantata Coffee on Haight) but it is such a good deal. The staff is nice enough– y’know… it’s a Subway. I guess this Subway is probably a 4 or a 5 on the Subway scale… but a 3 on the Unilocal scale.

Subway finally came close enough to my job to avoid a 30 minute lapse in my lunch break. Normally, Subway’s pretty straight-forward and dependable for the standard menu items.(It’s like McDonald’s –aside from a surprise case of indigestion– the menu’s always the same.) So when Subway opened only a block and half away from my building, I rejoiced that I could race out and get a sandwich with fresh fixin’s within minutes and still have time to enjoy it. Wrong. This Subway has somehow undermined the entire notion of fast fresh food. First, you hit the door and there’s a phalanx of hungry, irritable people waiting. Then the«Hellraiser» puzzle design of the shop requires you to pin yourself into a corner before ordering your food –of course not without having people barreling into you on their way out. Second, the counter people(though friendly enough) have the ordering script down… just don’t get off script. As a fourth-generation San Franciscan, I’m more than used to a variety of accents; with that said, this group has some serious language barriers. It took me three visits to understand that the person making the sandwiches was asking me if I wanted«mayonnaise or mustard» because she kept calling it «dressing», i.e., «Do you want dressing?» I thought she meant the toppings! Third, in an effort to be «efficient» the counter people want you to yell over the person in front of you to select your bread/sandwich. Efficient, right? Wrong. While the bread-jockey is hustling your bread, there’s a breakdown in the sandwich-making machine. In between the bread and the repeated question(from the same person), «Toasted?», there’s a major problem with«dressing», toppings and meats/contents. If they miss a station and you ask them to go back and give you cheese, for example, they look like deer caught in highlights. Your selfish request for something they forgot to ask(unlike«Toasted?») will bring the sandwich-making machine to a standstill. When you ask for something standard like oil and vinegar, it’s like they’re trying to figure out if that’s «dressing», «topping», or «condiment». The worse is when they get tourists from other non-English speaking countries and the whole sandwich-making operation just shuts down. Needless to say, it’s Subway. What can you do? If the franchise owner wants to keep us demoralized government workings coming back, then they should invest in: 1. Better training and conversational language skills 2. A sandwich-making primer 3. Better coordination behind the counter AND, finally, 4. Stop being so cheap and hire more workers, my friend

Thank you Subway for the following: 1) Stomach cramps; 2) Heartburn; 3) Trips to the porcelain throne; 4) Leading the«way» to my stash of Pepto in my cubicle drawer. *Evil Eye* I came to Subway today because I didn’t have time to go grocery shopping after having just come back from Vegas last night. Unfortunately, Subway is the only healthy option around my work amidst greasy Asian spoons and McD’s which is the only reason why I came here. I ordered a 6-inch buffalo chicken sandwich($ 4.29) on wheat with mustard and all the veggies except for olives. The bread was toasted to a hard crisp on the ends, the chicken was scant but the veggies were all crisp and fresh. The buffalo sauce was more vinegary than spicy. It’s Subway after all, so I wasn’t expecting much. BUT, what I didn’t expect is to be graced with strong stomach cramps and an intense burning in my chest which I rarely ever get, followed by several runs to the porcelain throne. *sigh* The only other thing I ate today was Fage Greek Yogurt which is what I eat everyday, so I highly doubt this was the culprit. I didn’t order cramps, heartburn and the runs on Subway’s menu, so needless to say I won’t be back…
