We came here for brunch on a Saturday morning when they first opened. It was empty so we were afraid the place was going to be awful. By noon the place was packed! The bottomless mirmosas were great and the food was ok. The music was far too loud! We couldn’t hear ourselves talk. And half way through our meal, they turned it up louder! It seems like it would be a great hangout spot for a group of friends. But it wasn’t the best choice for a family brunch. Overall it wasn’t too bad.

We never go out to watch games but went here tonight. I have to say it was a great experience. The service was great. Attentive but not pushy. The Caucasians I had were mixed well. Then we ordered food. So much better than standard bar food. We got the BBQ pulled pork grilled cheese and the Tavern Burger. Both had so much flavor and were cooked very well. Nevermind that they were a bit messy. What good food isn’t?

I’d never been to Stock In Trade before, but the fact that our server Amos knew the menu like the back of his hand made for a memorable meal… every suggested dish was on point. He is an asset to this delicious place… and why I’ll be back.

Went here for brunch the other day and I thought this place was just okay. I got french toast but it was not anything special. I can honestly make better french toasts. Bottomless mimosas was just okay too. Nothing special. Bad sparkling wine and oj… I am not going back to this place. There are so many other places you can try for brunch honestly.

Stopped into Stock in Trade for brunch last weekend. It was on a whim after a team run and we had a great time! We were greeted by a super sweet hostess, Sharee and we even got a table without a reservation! Jen was our server and she was very attentive– our bottomless mimosas never seemed to end! I had the pulled pork sliders, kinda on the sweet side but very tasty. My friends had the steak and egg sandwich and breakfast burrito– both amazing! Great, fun atmopshere. They have bocce ball and A TON of tvs! I will be back for sure!

**UPDATE** A long overdue, and warranted, update for Stock In Trade(which made it an ROTD, I might add) since there have been a few changes in the past two years. To this day, SIT is the only bar I will step foot into in the Marina… And for good reason. The food, if anything, has gotten better. Price points are below the neighborhood average and serving size is large(I sometimes find myself sharing plates). The burger is one of the best I’ve had in SF and a fried egg + avocado push it from great to orgasmic. The clientele, regardless of what mindless blogs state as the«frattiest bar in SF», is all friendly and non-confrontational… Notably during the brunch hours. If you can swing it, reserve a table online via OpenTable if you have a party of 5 or more but anything less than that can easily find a bar top seat. While I scan through some reviews, I’m baffled at the ratings that addressed the«service issues». I, as well as friends who frequent the bar with me often, have never received anything less than stellar service from management down. The bartenders are quick, friendly and engaging. Sam, Kat, Vinny and Jodi are four of the best bartenders in SF and I’ve never seen any of them off of their game. From complete strangers to friends in a short amount of time(and I frequent a lot of bars in this city) says a lot about the level of service and personalization to their craft. I’ve referred friends in from out of town, I’ve brought family here and everyone leaves raving about the experience and service. During game days, they have TV’s at every tilt of the head willing to accommodate to any request(as long as that TV hasn’t been claimed). For bigger games, they will play sound.(if you know SF, that’s pretty hard to come by). A few notable points a few«negative reviews» address: — Racism. An insulting accusation to make, period. That aside, that couldn’t be more wrong. My friends are a super diverse group(ie: I’m the only white guy in our group) and we have never received less than fantastic service from the EXTREMELY diverse staff. — Being cut off from mimosas. time limits on bottomless mimosas are limited, mostly, due to concerns of over-consumption(which puts the bar at a liability should something happen). The time limit is stated for a reason, not to spite or target specific groups/tables. While I get nothing from updating the review, a slew of unwarranted and baseless negative reviews that hold no weight but to damage a great business should be addressed. In the past 2 years, since my last review, I go for brunch ATLEAST bi-weekly and have never had a bad experience. Take negative reviews with a grain of salt(a very, very thin grain) and come in ready for a good time from start to finish. Pro-tip: $ 5 fernet shots and great beers on tap.(at this point I should have my own bottle of fernet behind the bar, lol). heart you guys!

I’ve been here for food, and they have a prime rib thing which I really like. I think it’s on thursdays or something– it’s nice to hang out here on Thursdays and have a quick bite with friends. It’s pretty laid back, there’s good music, it’s not too loud and it’s never too crowded to grab a table. The food isn’t THEBEST(for dinner at least, their brunch is pretty good) so 3 stars for food, but… I came here again for drinks on a Saturday(full disclosure: we pre-gamed pretty hard before hand) and it was very fun. Super young crowd but good music and getting drinks wasn’t that hard. +1 star

tl;dr: average, –1 star for being racist. We(large group of Asians) got seated at a corner table out of view from the entrance, at an inconveniently small and weirdly shaped table. A smaller group of white people who came in after us got a much better table! BULLSHIT. We also ordered bottomless mimosas, wherein you get your choice of three different varieties of mimosas, and the waitress brought us one variety at a time, which is fine, except she never really asked us what variety we wanted. Meanwhile at every other table(with white people, BYTHEWAY) had ALLTHREE varieties of mimosas made available. BULL. SHIT.

We stopped by for dinner on a weeknight and thought Stock In Trade was a solid place — more of a bar scene than a restaurant but I’ll let you decide that for yourself. We didn’t really need the 6:30pm reservations we made, as it was mostly empty. They have a HUGE bar with plenty of seating, as well as separate dining areas; I could see this being an excellent place to hang out after work for a few drinks or their weekend brunch. They have a great Happy Hour menu — a few bar bites different than the usual fare and $ 3 drafts, $ 5 wines, and $ 5 select cocktails. My Paloma Roja cocktails(from HH menu) were pretty tasty and not skimpy on the alcohol. There is a bocce court as well, but we didn’t partake this time around. For dinner, I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad and my bf had the Fried Chicken Caesar Sandwich. I thought both were a little underwhelming in flavor, although major points for freshness of the ingredients. My lettuce was crisp and the chicken was seasoned and cooked perfectly, but I think it was the dressing that was a little underseasoned, as both my Caesar salad and his Caesar sandwich lacked the zing that a Caesar dressing usually has. The sandwich was perfectly fried and the French fries accompanying it were crispy and hot. Amos(our server/bartender?) was super nice and checked in on us regularly, as well as the guy who seated us/bussed our table(didn’t get his name) — but both of them were very friendly. Final thoughts: I’d for sure come back for Happy Hour libations after work! A little out of our way for weekend brunch but it’s on my radar.

Been here a couple times for brunch. Not a big fan of the food. The night time crowd is more in the early to mid-20s. Definitely one of the more marina type bars.

This review is just for the nightlife and not for the food. Came here to celebrate a friend’s golden birthday(25 on the 25th!) She rented out the backroom and we had such a fun time! The bouncer was great and let us in through a different door to skip the line and head to her party. Once there, the room was the perfect space for the 50 or so people she had invited. We had our own personal bartender pouring drinks all night. The space itself was cool. Dark atmosphere with some nice tunes. The throw back songs(circa the early 2000s) were on point, especially after a few drinks. What I loved about having the backroom to ourselves was the opportunity to talk to the bartender. There wasn’t a huge rush to grab his attention so we were able to ask him to make us a creation of his own. I told him I wanted a vodka drink that was sweet and that the last drink I had was a dirty shirley. He created the most delicious drink(something with vodka, peach schnapps and some sort of juice). After people had a sip of it, everyone was heading to the back to ask him to make«that special drink you made for my friend». Again, this is a review for that space in particular so I’m not really sure what the rest of the bar is like. I really suggest renting out that space for a special event or party though. It was so much fun and definitely made celebrating our friend’s birthday a huge success.

This is my first time back since they made changes to their menu. I couldn’t really tell a huge difference, but I have to say that I had a better experience this time around. This place gets really loud and I recommend coming here for drinks more than dining. They serve standard American pub fare, from nachos to fish n’ chips. The first time I came here, I had the ribeye steak which was a disappointment. They were overcooked and had too much butter. This time, we ordered the deviled eggs, House Smoked Pork Spareribs and the Buddha bowl. The deviled eggs were great, but not a good item to share(only comes with 3 half eggs). The ribs were perfectly cooked and the meat fell right off the bones. The Buddha bowl was another great item with generous amounts of quinoa, farro and brussels sprouts. I’d get this again. The only thing the dish need more of is shrimp. I’d also recommend asking for the sauce on the side. Service was good, but our food took a while to arrive.

I love Stock in Trade for the bottomless mimosas! They only have mimosa, bellini and pomegranate. I thought they had more before. The food itself isn’t to die for, but also isn’t terrible. I loved the loaded nachos! I got fried eggs over biscuits and while it was short of New Orleans perfection, it was still good. The portion sizes were huge so we were all able to share our food. It was a little hot and stuffy in the back area. The waitress couldn’t accommodate seating us earlier than 2pm. She didn’t even really try. I guess they have a system, but we had just run the half marathon and we were so hungry! It would have been 4 stars if she could accommodate us. When not coming with a Groupon, it ends up being a $ 36 brunch.

I always have a good time when I come here. On holidays they are PACKED so getting a drink at the bar can take a while but this place has a fun vibe. It’s full of bros and sorority girls but then again that’s the crowd that hangs out in the Marina. I usually come here on St. Patty’s day for my birthday so obviously it’s very crowded. I’ve never eaten a meal here, but I did have the fish and chips once while getting drinks. They came out piping hot and the fish was perfectly fried. Mind you, I was also pretty tipsy so that might be why I was so happy when someone ordered food for me. :) None of their specialty cocktails looked that great, so I usually just stick to well drinks. They are decently strong and after a few, I always get a happy buzz. The women’s bathroom always has a long line, but the bathroom attendant is pretty good about getting people in and out quickly so you don’t have to wait too long. Last time I came on a Saturday afternoon and it wasn’t too busy. There were a lot of young people having bottomless mimosas. On regular weekends, it’s a good place to grab a few drinks and catch up with your friends.

I went here for a friend’s birthday brunch. The restaurant/bar area is pretty big for the location. Parking is challenging, but doable. I sat down with a group who was going to participate in bottomless mimosas. I wasn’t going to drink that day because I didn’t feel like it, but when I told our server he proceeded to ask me «Really? What’s wrong with you?» I’m sure it was all in good fun, but I just found it rude. The food was mediocre. My friend got the breakfast sandwich, and was utterly disappointed. My food(the shrimp and grits) was okay. I’d much rather go somewhere else(unnamed soul food on Polk St.) for this dish. I wouldn’t mind coming back for drinks in the evening, but I’d definitely skip the food.

The food here was surprisingly good. We ordered the happy hour sausage, hush puppies, meatballs, and fries(after the happy hour). The sausage was very excellent. The hush puppies were very flavorful. The meatballs were just okay, what you would expect, but nothing phenomenal. The fries were hot and crispy and came in a big portion. The place was pretty empty when I came on a Monday night. An Art Social event I was attending was held in the back room, and that’s how I even know about this place. I’ve walked by it many times but was never intrigued enough to go in. And I didn’t expect them to have decent food here since I thought this was more of a bar. But, they actually have a full menu with several dinner choices!

Pointless eating. The jalapeño hushpuppies tasted like a soggy funnel cake. The shrimp po’boy — which came recommended by our server — was literally the worst sandwich I’ve ever had. The shrimp were battered in cornbread but they were deep fried nearly black. It was so burnt tasting that I thought about sending it back except we rarely saw our server… who may have been fraternizing with one of the other five people in the place. I should add the the sandwich was $ 13 and that the garlic aoli is really Hidden Valley Ranch. Never again.
