First of all the prices at this place are, in my opinion, pretty cheap! You get what you pay for as far as quantity, but the quality of the food is what makes it stand out. For a ribeye to be cooked well done in 7 minutes and taste like its been marinated so well for hours is just awesome! Not to mention the very nice cashier I was greeted by when I first walked in. How about that menu? A black chalkboard with the menu hand written with different colored chalk, now that’s pretty cool! I will definitely be trying almost everything on the menu! Inside joke between me and the cashier– BRINGYOUROWNRICE. Yeah, they’re that cool. Keep up the good work Sticks BBQ! And welcome to the world of food business.

DONOTTRYTHERAMENBURGER!!! I wanted to try the Ramen Burger, but wish I hadn’t! I would have been happier with a McDonald’s cheesburger. ORIGINALRAMENBURGER– The Ramen was oily & so soggy. I was hoping for a nice crunch, but no. The burger I’m pretty sure was from a frozen patty… hard & dry. There was no taste… except the taste of oil. I had 3 forceful bites, then had to throw away, because I was afraid I would get sick. GARLICSEAWEEDFRIES– Sooooooo salty! The fries consisted of regular fries with just garlic powder & shredded seaweed on top. The seaweed doesn’t even stick to the fries and falls off. Had to dip fries in ketchup then dab on seaweed to stick, otherwise it just falls to the bottom of the basket. The salt was just to overwhelming… this item also went into the trash. I’m upset that I’m still hungry & wasted $ 10 on inedible food. I even thought about giving the food to the homeless guy outside, but instead threw it out, because didn’t want to make him more miserable than he already was.

Three stars because the quality of the food, the time I had to wait, and the service. So I came here with a group of people on a Friday night, we all wanted to try the ramen burger. I ordered last and it took a really long time, probably more then twenty mins. And my friends were already done with their food lol :(I ordered a ramen cheese burger and spiral fries. The burger was okay. It was really oily. And I added ketchup cause it really didn’t taste good without it. Lol and the spiral fries were $ 3 something and they didn’t give you that much. Not worth it. Eh idk. The person who took my order was nice. She gave my friends and I a cup of potato salad while we were waiting :) haha but yeah. I would probably come back here if the cravings were real.

Ramen burger so oily. After a few bites, I got overwhelmed with the oil and salt from the meat patty. The girl who was working at the cash register miscalculated my change. One time only — never again.

This is a fun little place if you want to snack. My girlfriend and I saw this place and said, ohhh, yakatori. Skewers range from $ 1-$ 4. TThe selection is not vast but enough hold you over until your next meal. They have the basic lamb meat, liver, chicken hearts, bacon wrapped whatever you want and chives. It is worth a try if you want to munch on Irving Street.

— interesting little yakitori place — bacon wrapped items are really good — nice portion for short rib — if you eat in, you get to soak in all the delicious meat fragrances(could be a plus depending on if you like smelling like meat)

This is a cute little store with some decent snack-sized skewers. The things that will catch your eye when you enter is the giant chalkboard with the menu items, and the wall with funny/profane Hong Kong signs with bad English. I tried the pork belly skewer and the bacon-wrapped longan skewer. The first one was pretty flavorful and had quite a lot of meat compared to the other one. The longan one sounded kind of weird at first but it was actually pretty tasty. Too bad that particular skewer only had three pieces on it. The place has really friendly service. The girl who took our order tried to get to know us and learn our names. I think it’s because she recognized my friend from a previous visit to this place. She came by and asked us how we were doing a few times and asked if we wanted our picture taken. They like to show pictures of their customers enjoying their food on the screen. Overall my only problem with this place is that it takes quite a while to make your skewers, which is kinda understandable since they have to cook it, but the serving is pretty small considering the wait time.

I wasn’t a fan of this place. I thought everything was over salted. I ordered three $ 2.5 skewers for $ 7: Lamb, Rib eye, and Sausage wrapped bacon. The lamb was mainly made up of fat, rib eye had a chunk of hard tendon, and the sausage was not a sausage but it was probably a 99cent package of asian hotdog. For the sausage I was hoping it would be more like those big asian hot links that you can get from quickly’s. I thought the place was expensive because the meat wasn’t very good and I think I could have gotten something similar at an izakaya for the same price but better meat. I thought the cashier girl was really cute and nice. You would think 3skewers would take 5mins but it took more like 15mins so she gave us ice cream mochi while we were waiting. I think the girl deserves a raise because she was able to hold down the fort on her own. She took everyone’s order and would check up on everyone. I think because of her I might give this place another chance. I guess customer service does play a roll. Two stars based only on food.

A lot of great options for snack foods though it could be a meal if you order enough sticks. The idea is great: various types of meat and veggies barbequed with different sauces and served on skewers. The main disappointment was that their serving sizes have decreased dramatically, you can order 4 – 5 skewers and still be hungry though you’ve paid enough money to have had a full meal elsewhere in inner/outer sunset. The location is rather small but still has a nice ambiance, no dining room seating, just a few small tables and a counter with stools; best for a quick meal or on-the-go. The bacon wrapped longan was particularly good, and the rice cake was surprisingly more flavourful than most of the skewers. Most of the meat dishes, however, were underflavoured, either by being overcooked and/or underseasoned.

A wide array of skwered treats to meet your snaking needs. Not the best but then again the best ones I’ve had were on the streets of Asia. So for the Sunset district, this is fine. At ~ $ 2.50/skewer, the prices aren’t dirt cheap as it’ll probably cost you a good $ 10 just to get a small amount. If you are HUNGRY, then this is not your stop as you will no doubtedly STILL feel hungry after visiting unless you intend to spend $ 20 just on yourself. No special drinks. The silver lining for now is that if you check-in via FB you get a free mochi. That helps!

Walking around Irving and noticed a new store opened next to Teaway so I decided to walk in to see what they sell. First thing I walked in was a giant black board with a disorganized menu and was hard to read. I decided to get the the rib eye and the curry chicken. It took about ten minutes to get my order when the shop was literally empty. When I got my order the portions was what surprised me where I paid $ 5 for two skewers of meat. The curry was pretty watered down which had no flavor at all. I would return is they make their portions bigger because what you hey is not worth your money.

Sticks opens 2ish for some reason. maybe lack of a dining room is a reason. only seating is stools by the window. otherwise, food is to go menu: meats, bacon wrap, veggies, seafood, sweets & desserts, chicken eats: 2.5 skewers, 3/$ 7. –bacon wrap shrimp(2.5) 3 medium sized shrimp with medium cooked wrap bacon, not overcooked, juicy –rib eye(2.5) tender, not a lot of flavor –lamb shoulder(2.5) cumin flavored, not a lot of lamb taste –bacon wrapped longon(comped) small longan, small bacon, ok, wouldn’t order leftovers: –skewers have 3 pieces, price seems reasonable. –skewers have different prices –some skewers will be tasteless, lucky choices., guessin chicken will be dry. –cooked to order, 5 minutes? –may retry as a novelty, not a long term fan. –cash only?

A tiny place with a huge blackboard literally right in front of you when you walk in. This blackboard is their menu. It’s a little overwhelming as it’s scribbled in with chalk all over the board. Simply put, the menu was very messy and disorganized looking. Maybe they are doing that on purpose and I just don’t «get it»? So it took me a few minutes to scan through everything they offer which seemed to be the typical such as fish balls, chicken wings, diff types of veggies, bacon wrapped veggies or meat, beef, lamb, pork belly etc. Nothing out of the ordinary such as chicken liver or heart or beef tongue. Pricing is about $ 1.40 — $ 2.50 per stick. I ended up getting Pork Belly and Lamb Kabobs — 2 orders each for a total of about $ 10. They were made to order and took about 10 – 15 minutes. I went next door to grab a boba and it was ready for me by the time I got back. Lamb was a little on the salty side from all the spices and the pork belly was on the leaner side than I prefer. But overall it tasted good and I would go back to try other stuff.

I came here and ordered chives, chicken wings, and bacon-wrapped quail eggs. What I got was undercooked chicken wings, 2⁄3 of which were raw and bloody. Would not return… I could have gotten massively sick :|

What a cute store! As soon as you walk in, there is a menu on the big wall written with chalk. On the other wall there’s a bunch of signs on the wall to keep you occupied until you get your food. I tried the cuttlefish, pork shoulder, bacon wrapped asparagus, gizzard(my favorite), tomatoes, mushrooms, okra & bacon wrapped longan. The sauce is soo delicious. Everything is full of flavor. They make everything fresh as you order, so I don’t really mind the 5 minute wait. The owner is also very nice. When we finished our food, he made sure that everything tasted good. He also made sure that we were happy with everything. I will definitely come back and try other things on the menu next time I’m on Irving. p. s. someone mentioned they didn’t want to pay $ 1.4 for something… seriously? it’s a a whole dollar and forty cents…

The first thing I noticed while driving down Irving was the cute storefront. The sign caught my eye because it was quite adorable, while straight-up conveying what the product was. Upon entering the place, the first thing that catches my eye is the Engrish wall of signs of nonsensical and not-so-politically correct phrases. It was funny so I stood there reading while waiting in line to order. In the middle of the store is a giant chalkboard of the freshly made, cook-to-order items available for you to chose from. There’s a lot of options to fulfill your BBQ items on skewers desires. I decided to go with a classic, fish balls, and the«fad food», bacon enoki. The wait time was approximately 7 minutes because there were a few people ahead of my order. However, the cashier is okay with you wandering off to grab some other food or boba next door as long as you hold on to your receipt. The cuttlefish balls came on a skewer with 4 half-pieces. They were lightly grilled on only one side(the flat side) and were covered in a watered-down, sweet sauce similar to takoyaki sauce. They were alright, but not worth the $ 1.4. The bacon enoki was a skewer with pieces of bacon wrapped around 1 cm diameters worth of enoki mushrooms. Enoki mushrooms are those tall, thin, and white mushrooms you eat during hot pot. I felt like the portions were very little considering the price. The bacon goes well with BBQ-ed mushrooms but portion-wise, it just doesn’t justify the price. Overall, I would come back if prices were cheaper. Many of the items cost more than a drink(from next doors) and don’t really keep you full. This place needs to get on that before if they want to stay in business amid a neighborhood full of thriving snack shops.
