Mostly friendly staff and a good place to go if you have a long, but not long enough break in between classes. However, for quick coffee during the morning hours, I would not recommend. The service is typically friendly but holy crap everything else is extremely slow. The cashiers are more efficient than the coffee/sandwich makers so you end up waiting with 15 other people even though the initial line to order is short. I used to get sandwiches here pretty often and they were really good, but it has also been a year since I last had one. Coffees are ok. I usually get a White Mocha and the sweetness is inconsistent, but at 9am I don’t really expect a masterpiece. Overall, you can’t really beat the convenience of this place and it usually isn’t bad. Just give yourself at least 10 mins for coffee if you see a lot of people.

This is a great place to come in between classes or when you need a little caffeine pick me up. However the last few times I’ve come to order a hot white mocha all I seem to get is foam. I order a large and only get the cup half full of coffee and the rest filled with foam. I’ve complained once and had the drink remade for me, but I don’t have time to get it remade every time I order. I really do like this place, I’d just like it more if the workers would actually take their time to make the drink better.

they’re only getting a star from me for the turkey bacon avo sandwich. customer service is crappy! that manager(short dude) is an ass. If he doesn’t like you he will not make you a sandwich. I went there on a friday before 2pm. He declined to make me a(already pre-made) sandwich because they are«close». they don’t close until 2:30pm on fridays. I got a bagel instead but i was surprised when he made a sandwich for the person that ordered after me.

I used to love coming here for a latte when I was in a rush. Mostly just a café students stop at to grab a coffee or a bite as it is conveniently located in front of SFSU where the buses stop. Staff is generally unfriendly and is just trying to move onto the next guest. Prices are reasonable and there is little wait time at most hours. The menu spans from coffees and teas to sandwiches and bagels. They have some ready-made items like pizza and salads for those who don’t wish to wait.

Why you should come here: + Friendly employees + Reasonable wait times + Speedy transactions + Decent hours of operation + Excellent location(especially for those who commute) + Many options for both food and drinks The one drawback: — Lines can be long.(But it’s worth the wait and the lines move fast). Overall, this small place gets the job done well. Keep up the excellent work. 5 stars all the way

Nice coffee shop with excellent coffee. Not very quick but friendly personnel. Mostly young people from the area.

0 stars! I just saw one of the workers in the bathroom(who handles food) who didn’t even bother to wash her hands! BEWARE!

Station Café is open before the sun comes up. On those awful occasions that I have to make the trek to Palo Alto by transit, Station Café is my best friend. Solid coffee, a good selection of snacks, and ridiculous early hours are pretty much all I need out of a coffee shop. Being next to the bus stop and not remotely out of my way? That’s a big bonus. Bottom Line: Like a good friend, they will be there for you at your bleary eyed worst, helping you make everything okay againn.

You stumble towards campus on a cold Autumn morning, carrying the weight of your heavy eyes. You squint up at the lavender sky as the sun just begins to blaze across the horizon. The cold crispy air pierces through your SFSU sweater and there’s nothing you want more than a fresh cup of coffee and a hot sandwich. Station Café is your morning glory. They have a variety of hot sandwiches and bagels that warms you all the way to the soul. The thick Ciabatta bread protects the contents of your sandwich against the unforgiving cold, allowing the meat to stay warm until you silence your growling stomach. You’re not done yet. How about slowly sipping your Vanilla Coffee while admiring the last minutes of the Vanilla Twilight. As the owls from Owl City retires to their nest, the coffee invigorates you with the energy to start your day. Station Café. Thank you.

The very first time I came here, the coffee was cold. Since then, I’ve been back 5 more times and had no problems with the coffee(other than not being able to get decaf in the afternoon). They are open bright and early in the morning so you can get your fix before class, though there’s usually a line at that time. The workers are quite friendly and helpful! Discount for bringing your own cup, so bring your own cup!

I still love coming here for breakfast, lunch as well as a late snack. Staff members are friendly and service is very efficient. A bus/shuttle stop right in front and a metro stop across the street. Whether you’re between classes or have time to spare before going to class, come here if you need something to eat and drink! EDITFOR08/07/2014: Their hot chocolate is a tasty beverage. Friendly staff members and efficient services. Absolutely nice spot to get something to eat and drink while waiting for the bus or in between class.

Station domination. One kind: Another kind: Turkey pastrami(!) on a wheat roll with all the fixings for $ 4.75.(!!) Five stars was coming even before the guy helping me reduced the price because I didn’t want bacon.(!!!) Stomach dominated this amazing sandwich in no time.

This place is reopened, although it currently says it not. Not sure why it was closed in the first place. The service here is good, although a bit pricey. Lots of drink options and some food options as well. I always get the iced white mocha and have them put it in my coffee container with whip cream. Can’t complain about the place since it’s located on Holloway and 19th, perfect for once you get onto campus and need coffee right away

Good ol’ Unilocal, always on top of their closed/not closed listings. It’s been back open for like at least 2 years now. Anyway. Functional enough coffee stop at the front gates of SFSU w/sweets and basic salads and sammies. Prices are pretty good, but they usually only serve Peets«burnt to hide the inferior flavor» blecchy stuff(just can’t escape Peets on campus anymore sadly.) The procedure is also weird — get cup at register, self-serve, but the hotness sleeve things are way over by the fixin’s bar, so you have to walk over there first then back to the coffee THEN back to the fixins again, or try to navigate a gauntlet of oblivious headphone kids with a hot coffee gingerly balanced in your unprotected hands. #SFSUProblems

It mainly serves students so I don’t expect anything spectacular, especially because it must not have a big kitchen because it is a small place. The regular wheat bread is better for the sandwiches in my opinion. I liked my sandwich when I had wheat bread. The dutch crunch is not good at all. It’s just too hard and dry. The last bagel I had was an onion bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese. I liked the cream cheese but the bagel tasted old because it was chewier than it’s supposed to be. Prices are cheap though and they’re relatively fast so it’s pretty good for students at SFSU.

Awesome place. Staff are friendly, efficient, and professional. Love their sandwiches any time of the day, especially the B.L.T.A(Avocado). Only gripe I have is sometimes they are understaffed during lunch and breakfast time, making the wait for your order long and confusing. Had someone take my sandwich. Soon as they realized, I had a replacement made in a rush. Great service.

Not too shabby. I mean, yeah, the counters can get pretty messy as well as the surrounding area with the other add-ins but what do you expect with an outdoor café? If I want something quick and have time before class(give or take, maybe 10 minutes), then i’ll grab a coffee and a bagel from this place. It’s the first thing you see of SFSU when driving down the end of 19th st. haha, so that’s what’s always stood out about the place to me. I enjoy getting my coffee fixes from here if Peet’s line is ridiculous :)

Cashier Michael is consistently pleasant and friendly – give this guy a raise! Their«smoked tofu» is absolutely not smoked. It’s plain and unfortunate. They also offer a vegan turkey sandwich which is pretty tasty! The coffee would be nicer if it was organic. Otherwise, this place is alright with a good location.

There’s always a line at this café. There’s no line? Ah, well wait 2 minutes… yea, there ya go. I come here to pick up my rice and chicken bowls, my hot tea and my orange juices however the service is usually pretty slow, even with two people staffing it. They do have a microwave just like the HSS building, however people have the unfortunate habit of opening this one up, taking whats in it out and replacing it with their own food. It’s a touch better than Café Rosso and right on par with HSS without the even BIGGER line they get after certain classes let out. So yea, three stars.
