Sovan’s Eyebrows Threading

Rashila is my girl! Been going to her since I found her on groupon a year or so ago. The appointment is quick and she knows what she is doing. The only reason I’m taking away a star is because she was 15 – 20 minutes late for our morning appointment and once she came in, she rushed through it even though there was only 1 other girl waiting outside. The next day, I noticed there were a few bumps in some areas around my brows from tiny scabs that formed from her not being cautious with her threading.
Still, eyebrows on fleeeeek.

Very nice ladies, but the woman who did my eyebrows did not do a great job. Sadly won’t be coming back here.

First time here and loved it. She knows exactly how to shape/​fix eyebrows and is very gentle as she does it. Perfect location to drop into during your lunchbreak if you’re in the financial district!

Bottom line, Rashila knows what she’s doing. Fast, accurate and friendly. I’ve been getting my brows threaded for nearly 15 years and she’s one of the best I’ve been to. Recommended.

Kopila did an amazing job. She’s truly a life saver since my usual threader at Berkeley was taking a long break and I was really really anxious about getting my eyebrows done by someone new. Five star. Will definitely come back.

I visited Sovan’s for both eyebrow and upper-​lip services and am beyond impressed. I’m usually very hesitant with hair removal since excessive removal never quite grows back if you’re unhappy with the results. Rashila did an exceptional job. She was professional, quick, and very conservative with my brows.
Sovan’s is very small and situated in an indoor corridor of other small beauty services providers. The space is clean and and the prices are very reasonable. Be sure to carry cash and ask for a stamp card. I called ahead for today, but they do accept walk-​ins.

Sovan is right at the corner of Commercial and Montgomery, and you enter through the door on Montgomery. It is one of many little shops inside the building and it’ll be on you left once you enter.
Rashila is so fast! I think I was in and out of my appointment after 10 minutes. I have a low pain threshold for eyebrow threading, but because she was so fast, the experience was also less painful. She also uses organic threads, whatever that means Remember to ask for lotion afterwards to soothe the area surrounding your brows!
Tip: A couple of reviews mentioned the Groupon deal. I got it, only to realize afterward that it can only be used at the other Sovan located on Kearny.

I love Rashila! She is quick, does a great job, and has a charming personality. I’ve been to other threading places before, and so far this is the best one. She also does tinting. I am always very pleased by the results. She is very precise.

I found Sovan’s through Groupon. I purchased 3 sessions. My original eyebrow threading place was getting expensive and I desperately needed a new place.
For my first session, my eyebrows were decent, but I didn’t love it. My next two sessions were spot-​on! I asked for a clean-​up, and in less than 5 minutes, Rashila gave me beautifully-​shaped brows. I have funky brows that are sometimes hard to fill in, but after each session with Rashila, I found that my brows were easier to fill in. They even grew out nicer than usual!
Sovan’s is my new go-​to eyebrow threading place. Rashila is the only worker so far, but I see this place expanding in the near future :)

Highly recommend you get your brows threaded and tinted here because she knows what she’s doing and will give you gorgeous brows.

I found her. It has taken multiple disappointing times at a different spot for me to find Sovan and realize a good thing when I find one.
Her place is small and she’s a one woman show. I’ve never had to wait, but I understand that may go down. Her chair and space is clean and Sovan** herself is super polite: She’s not chewing gum, her breath is fresh, she smells good. Hey, that stuff matters; I’ve had some crazy threading experiences.
Most importantly, Sovan is super thorough. She’s got a good eye for eyebrow arches and she actually is quite conservative with hair removal, which I appreciate. I’m of the thought you can always take off more, but you can never put it back on.
Regardless, I’m giving Sovan the YoSteph eyebrow stamp of approval. $ 12 for eyebrow.

Discovered this place while searching through Unilocal for a place to get my brows threaded near work. This place is conveniently located in fidi and was less than a mile away of a walk from my office!
Once arriving, you have to call to buzz yourself in. I believe her Suite # is no longer 107 but I think 105 so don’t get confused! There is a sign on the door that says eyebrow threading with Rashila’s name on it.
I walked in with no appointment with two girls ahead of me and Rashila was nice enough to still take me. So I’m glad she takes walk ins!
I told her what I wanted and that I just wanted a «clean up» and she was quick and professional. I’ve gotten my brows threaded before and surprisingly coming here. I didn’t feel as much pain? Usually my eyes water like crazy but they barely did when Rashila did them!
Also a PLUS is that she gives you a stamp card. which you can leave there and she’ll stamp you each time you come. DEFS coming back here since I had no complaints AND it was only $ 12!

This eyebrow threading place rocks! I used a groupon & now have a good backup shop to tame my dark whiskers & the two fuzzy caterpillars above my Eurasian eyes!
1. Buy 10 get 1 free punch card. I feel that if a shop wants to keep clients, there must be a loyalty & rewards program.
2. She is fast & doesn’t have a long line on a Friday evening.
3. The place is in FiDi but doesn’t close til 8pm. Most threading shops close at 6pm or 7pm.
4. The bathroom is superb & has privacy.
5. I may be coming back Cuz she’s open til 8pm most days & Cuz it’s clean.

tldr: Kind of painful. Good price. Knows what she is doing; loved my results.
Located in a building in FiDi, I was surprised to find this place offering threading services for a good price point. $ 12 is not too bad considering the location. I would consider myself a threading noob cause I have only gotten it threaded a couple of times (aka this is my 3^rd time).
She went through the whole process really quickly. It did hurt when she was threading my brows (had to shed a tear or two). But, the results made the pain worth it. I didn’t even have to tell her how I wanted my brows, and she made them look great. She gave me a nice arch and evened them out (something I have been waiting for lol). I am really happy with the results, but I noticed a day or two afterwards that I started getting these bumps which turned into pimples by my eye-​brows. NOT OK. I think my skin was getting a reaction, or the pores weren’t used to being opened up, or something. My friend got these bumps almost right away, but she told me they went away.
Either way, I love the way my brows look and I would probably return when I need my brows to be shaped again. Btw, she has a stamp card [after 10, get 1 session free].

I discovered this place through a Groupon deal one day when I was insanely bored at home. I purchased 3 sessions for $ 14.40 and I’m glad I did because now my eyebrows are on fleek :) :) :) The regular price of the eyebrow threading is $ 12, which is not too bad considering it’s located in the Financial District. I was really surprised at how nice this place was. It was very clean, spacious, and modern. Sovan was really friendly and conversational during the entire session. I usually get an eyebrow wax, but this time I went for the threading because it was a steal!
To start off with the procedure, first she used a eyebrow shaping scissor to trim my eyebrow hair then she asked how I wanted my brows to be done. I requested a high arch and showed her how my eyebrows looked before it grew out. Then she took out a brand new thread and removed pieces of my hair. She cleaned out my hair in less than 5 minutes and I was impressed! I loveeeee my new eyebrows now!
Warning, if you have very sensitive skin around the eye area then eyebrow threading is not for you! It was very painful for me and it felt like an electric shock every time she threaded a piece of my hair. It is definitely bearable if you have tough skin!
Tip: Do not drive here!

Came here for my first eyebrow threading appointment (courtesy of Groupon). I’ve heard so many people say that threading hurts way more than waxing, but it actually didn’t. The first time she used the thread to pull the hair it was kind of shocking because I didn’t know what to expect, but after that it was not uncomfortable at all. Sovan is friendly and talked to me during the process about random things and her moving to CA recently. The building is a shared building (all cosmetology related) and she has a room in there. It’s not very big but it’s clean and does the job.
Parking of course is horrible. It’s close to Chinatown. There are tons of meters if you get lucky.

I dropped in today on my lunch to get my eye brows cleaned up. One customer was getting her eye brows threaded and two were waiting in the hall for their turn. While I was waiting, other girls came through and got in line behind me (my arrival time was about 1:50pm). This is a popular spot with drop ins available. The quoted time for the wait was longer than the actual wait — I think I was only there 20 minutes total including my own service. Great results, got a punch card for future visits, will return again!
