And just like that — this place is on its way to the grave to rest in peace with Fina Estampa and GlasKat. I was one of Sloane’s first patrons when it opened a few years back and had the infamous $ 2 Tequila Tuesdays. It was a great place, with good bartenders, and great music. However, since it’s expansion the place has taken its ego to all new levels and run in itself into the ground in a myriad of ways: 1) Drug dealing all over the place. You name it – they got it. 2) The bouncers will let you do as you please — as long as you«service» them the right way. Not only that — if some creep decides they want to harass you and you complain about them to those bouncers … you get kicked out of the club, not them. After all, every place needs a good amount of perverts right? 3) On and off guestlist. You can sign up for guestlist online — but it’s really a gamble once you get in line if you actually have to pay. For no reason — without telling anyone — they’ll cancel guestlist and make you pay $ 20 to get in. Can you say rip-off? 4) Watered/small portioned down drinks for unreasonable prices. If you decide to waste your time and go to this place — bring a flask. 5) The increasing amount of sketchy patrons who are on some Asian persuasion hunt for drunk girls to which they can take advantage of. 6) Less than sanitary toilets. You literally have to take off the cover of the toilet to flush it on the inside, pick up the plastic seat cover so you don’t have to fall in the toilet, and/or pray to God the toilet paper isn’t on the floor soaked into someone’s vomit/urine. 7) Music is no better than playing your most ghetto Pandora station at home. Save your money and let this ghetto breeding ground rot. Go to Origin or Temple where your money will be more worth your while.

I wish I could give this place NEGATIVESTARS. Why you ask? BECAUSESLOANE and their MANAGEMENTENDORSESEXUALASSAULTATSLOANE. I was really excited to go to this spot for the first-time this past Saturday to celebrate our friend’s birthday. Unfortunately, not long after our friends had paid their cover charge to get in(a cumulative $ 160 bucks!), our birthday girl was SEXUALLYASSAULTEDATSLOANE. We tried to get our money back and from the moment we tried to address the incident with management, we were treated extremely rudely. The way we were treated was absolutely unacceptable and unprofessional, not to mention classist and misogynistic. The bouncer Steve Grayson’s initial response was to tell us that he couldn’t be giving«money back to every woman who complained about getting sexually assaulted» WHOA. So much wrong with that statement. Instead of listening to our concern about the sexual assault which had just taken place on Sloane’s premises, Steve Grayson was rude and dismissive. Not ONCE did he ask who the perpetrator was. I am used to going to clubs where the management understands that a safe environment is critical to the health and safety of their patrons, as well as THECLUB’S REPUTATION and continued business. Clearly Sloane was not at all interested in 1) addressing the sexual assault which HADJUST happened on Sloane’s premises or 2) keeping us as patrons in any way. Even after we had pleaded many times to get our money back, the bouncer responded to us with misogynistic hatespeech(THANKSFORNOTHING«STEVEGRAYSON» and«STEVIE» and«WILL») and brought over additional manpower to threaten and physically intimidate us, calling us «broke-ass bitches,» telling us to «fuck off» and telling us they didn’t care if we sued them. Sloane staff told us we would not be getting our money back and that we had to leave. Even when I told the bouncer several times that he was not to touch me and that I wouldn’t be leaving until this issue was resolved, the physical intimidation and insults continued. Which is extra ridiculous considering we were a group of small women who were simply trying to get our money back after a traumatizing event — we were nonviolent and the physical intimidation was absolutely unnecessary. But I guess after not caring about sexual assault, it’s not surprising the male staff at Sloane would attempt to silence us women by insulting us and using physical intimidation to force us to leave with the issue unresolved. I am still in shock by the way we were treated by Sloane staff and their utter lack of accountability for sexual assault on their premises. The only person who was remotely sympathetic was a gentleman from the Marshawn Lynch Fdn(the Foundation hosting an event there that night) who didn’t even work for Sloane but let us know he was embarrassed by the Sloane staff and basically told us that clubs like this just care about their money. Well, message received SLOANE — you made it abundantly clear that once you have our money, who cares who gets sexually assaulted, right? WRONG. What SLOANE failed to realize is that women like us will not be silenced by Sloane’s unprofessional hatespeech and physical intimidation. Moral of the story — SLOANEENDORSESSEXUALASSAULTOFITSPAYINGPATRONSANDRESPONDSTOTHEIRCOMPLAINTSWITHMISOGYNYANDPHYSICALINTIMIDATION. SLOANEDOESNOTCAREABOUTTHEIRUNSAFEENVIRONMENTFORWOMEN. There are so many things terribly, terribly wrong with this place. I am writing because I had the same experience as a previous reviewer. My friends and I went to this place last night and were looking forward to a good time dancing. We didn’t even get to the dance floor before my friend was aggressively groped(read SEXUALLYASSAULTED) by one of the patrons. We immediately went outside to leave and alert the establishment that our friend just got assaulted because from our experience in every other club and bar this behavior isn’t tolerated and people who do that get kicked out for creating an unsafe atmosphere. We also expected to get our money back since this happened in the hallway just minutes after paying a cumulative $ 160 to get in and we were leaving. We were directed to a bouncer who dismissed us, saying that he wasn’t there so he can’t prove what we’re saying actually happened, and that if EVERY woman who claimed to be sexually assaulted on their premises got their money back they would have to shut down. Really??? That many women have complained to you about being SEXUALLYASSAULTED and THAT is your response? He did not ask what happened, who did it, nothing. Instead, when we asked him why he wouldn’t help us, he started yelling at us and brought 3 bouncers over who started cursing at us, calling us «bitches» and threatening to put their hands on us. This whole time our group was calm and kept asking for them to just listen and not yell at us. It was a struggle with 4 muscle bound maniacs yelling and cursing at us and telling us we had no right to complain when we «knew what(we) were getting into» by going there. We did not get our money back, the people who assaulted my friend continued partying and potentially harming other women, and the other people who worked there came up to us and expressed their embarrassment with working with these bouncers. If this place expects to stay open they seriously need to address the issue of how many women report being sexually assaulted on their premises and fire the abusive bouncers who are suppose to be in charge of creating a safe environment. IFYOUARE A WOMANREADINGTHISREVIEW: For your own safety — GOSOMEWHEREELSE!

NEXT! Unless you like your club filled with first year college students/senior year high school students(is this an 18+ club because it definitely seemed that way). Unless you like your club music filled with Bee Gees and other disco classics(I kid you not — the DJ who«spinned» played a great amount of disco classics. It wasn’t even Disco Night! Besides, I would not visit a club that does a Disco Night. Too young for that…) Unless you like your Disco Night music to be interspersed with 90s Pop — think Britney Spears, 98 Degrees, Christina Aguilera. Unless you like to wait up to thirty minutes in line to use the bathroom. Unless you like your alcohol so diluted that it tastes like fruit punch! Otherwise, like I’ve said, NEXT!

Very cool vibe with the smokiness and glow sticks, good variety of music, and crowd of mostly decent people :) Rumor has it though that it’s kind of dying :(

Disclaimer: I’m not a local, and got a recommendation of a friend for this place. Went here for a friend’s birthday party. I had no expectation of it, but that’s always a recipe for a good time. We got here a little late, around 11pm, there was a little wait and got kinda cold, but we had a good group going, so we didn’t mind much. The door guy(with the Indian turban, was super friendly), he was apologetic about the wait. Anyways, we finally got in, and overall had a fantastic experience here! It seemed to be quite a diverse crowd(around mid-20s, early 30s, professionals and more casual). DJ playing knows his groove! We were dancing it off most of the time. Drink prices seem to be in the pricer side, but they do have 2-for-1 special(I’m not above pre-gaming, so not really an issue). Overall, we had a pretty good time, nice place to dance it off with friends :)

I had high hopes for Sloane. We went on a lark after another club didn’t work out and from the outside it had the setup of something great. Multiple lines and ropes off areas. We got there super early to avoid any complications but it seemed like ti could be a hassle if you get there later. We made the guest list and got in pretty easily. They were pretty nice outside and once in we made our way to the first bar on the left. This seems to be the area people gather while they wait for people to arrive. They play amazing hip hop music in this bar and I wish this was the club. People bounced around a little and the music was so good you couldn’t help but get into it. But then the rest of the club opened up around 11 and it just went downhill from there. After exiting into the main area there is a relatively large dance-floor with an upstairs area for VIP and viewing the people below. I am used to this setup in other clubs but then they launched into full EDM and I was over it. The main problem with Sloane and maybe this was just a bad night was that there were just not enough people to fill a warehouse space this huge. If you have the clientele of the Grand then I could see this working but it was just so cavernous and it felt like you had showed up to a party that had already been busted by the cops. Just wasn’t conducive to dancing. If you have a large party i would recommend going here as you will likely have space and can take over the club. If others have been and it has been popping please feel free to take their opinions but we waited it out for another hour but no other people ever showed up and we were not going to give up our night so we left and booked it over to Mayes where we knew there would be a crowd on a Friday night. There is also a bar in the main room and of course I have no idea what VIP was like but I am sure it was lonely up there. The crowd was actually kind of diverse which i appreciated and actually skewed more Hispanic. One of the first clubs I have seen with that dynamic so kudos for that I felt like I was back in San Antonio. I love my Latinos so thumbs up. Overall Sloane was Meh and while it may be worth a trip once to get your feel of it, it did not piqué our curiosity for another visit.

FYI: Saturday nights were advertised as «Hip-Hop night» but apparently they only play hip-hop from 9:30 — 10:30pm. WTH? Who’s even at the club at 9:30? I don’t know about you but I am still getting ready, lol. We tried to request some Mac Dre but the 4DJ’s up there were not having it. The entrance makes the place look dead, like to the point where we were questioning if it was even still open. There are two lines, one for GA& one for bottle service. We got there at midnight so there was no line whatsoever. Late comers, I know. Heading inside, it’s pretty big inside & there is also an upstairs. I saw two bars. The bartender needs to listen better because we asked for 4 double shots of heem & she ended up pouring us a 4 doubles & a single shot, smh. So needless to say, we were good by the time we took the third shot. The crowd… was interesting. I don’t know how to describe it honestly. It was so diverse & weird. Young, old, tall, small, people in dress shirts & khakis, people in club-wear… people pretty much fornicating on the dancefloor, smh… They played the weirdest combinations of music, old school hip-hop, 90’s rock, edm. Sigh, I didn’t know how to dance half the time because the music was so inconsistent. Okay, I’ll stop complaining. Would I go here again? Sure, if they played more hip-hop, I’m over the EDM scene.

I like to think that I had a pretty fun time when I came here on the invitation of a friend of mine. It might’ve had to do with the pre-gaming I did beforehand. It might also have had something to do with the fact that there were a couple of very friendly guys who wanted to be my friends while I was here(though I can still see Mina K. shaking her head at me and saying pityingly, «Oh honey, they do NOT want to be your ‘friend.’») I’m not very familiar with the San Francisco club scene(or any club scene really for that matter), but this club is definitely predominantly Asian. Honestly, you were either Asian or an Asia-phile(you know, those of us who are more inclined to «Yellow Fever» than others). Since we were on their guest list and we got there before 10:30PM, we were let in with no problems. I found the drinks to be a little pricey, but it’s San Francisco so you just kind of have to suck it up. But the dance floor was a lot of fun and the restroom line was never too ridiculous(a huge plus when there are a bunch of drunk women who are all running to them constantly, all night). Overall, I think it’s worth it to maybe go check the scene out at least once. I would probably go again if my friends asked, but it would have to be a pretty large group(though probably more females than males in the group would get us in faster) in order for me to feel like it’d be worth it.

Will probably try to never come back here. The best part about this place is the music. 1. Guys and girls use the same bathrooms and there’s only 4 stalls so have fun waiting. I went to the bathroom right when I got in and there was just pee all over the toilet I puked a little in my mouth and didn’t even go. GUYSLIFTTHETOILETSEATPLEASE! –_– 2. The main floor gets soooo slippery and wet that heels are not safe at all here, better off wearing wedges or flats. I almost ate sh** four or more times just from kicking an empty drink cup on the ground(WHOJUSTPUTSEMPTYDRINKCUPSONTHEGROUNDINTHEMIDDLEOFTHEDANCEFLOOR?) or just straight up slipping by myself because I’m super clumsy already, or rude people just ramming into you as they walk by… no. no. no. 3. just no. Overall, I remember the music being good and the drinks were alright not too watered down but not super strong. But I won’t be back here unless it’s a friends birthday or I am forced to.

I went on a super cold rainy night. That made for lots of dance room. We were put on the guest list, saved some money there for expensive drinks. But that is expected. DJ was pretty good. Played songs I actually knew. Bathroom had 3 stalls for the women, it’s located right of the DJ. What else, since I went on an off night, I didn’t have a negative experience like some other people did. Soane was good to me. I made new friends on the dance floor. Had a blast!

Worst experience ever. For $ 283 I got 2 bottles of Stoli, friends denied at the door, and a table next to the bathroom line where no one comes by to check on us. Here’s what I was promised: for $ 200 I’d get 2 bottles of Grey Goose, bottles brought out with«lights and fun»(nothing… they just handed the bottle to us) and guests to enter(no disclosure about the limit). Alright, one friend who was denied entry wanted to be there for my birthday so he spent $ 150 just to get in(the guy at the door told him he could purchase a bottle for entry, and each bottle is equivalent to 8 guests). but friends past him were denied as well… what the fuq. After months of complaint and received promised follow ups, the promoter deleted her email. I’m completely lost, this place sucks. period.

Sign up for the guest list and line up before 10PM to avoid the long line. I’ve been here recently to celebrate my good friends’ birthdays on a Friday night. We guest listed ourselves from their website, so we can get in for free. Last time we arrived after 10:15PM and there was a HUGE line. We couldn’t get in before 10:30PM and had to pay $ 20 or $ 30 cover. SONOTCOOL. They were just holding up the line until 10:30. So this time we made sure we arrive promptly at 10PM, if not earlier. We were one of the first in line. Parking: tons of street parking. Although it’s metered, it’s free after 6PM. I recommend you to put all valuables in the truck or stow it away from view. Drinks: The bar is on the left as you walk through the double door. There’s quite a crowd of people just mingling and ordering drinks. It’s around $ 10 for a shot. Fireball was our choice of the night. The second bar is located along side the dance floor. Bathroom: To the right of the bar. There are 3 individual unisex bathrooms. The sink is located outside. Security guards: I’m not sure why I gave them a category, maybe it’s because I’ve read reviews of them ruining people’s nights. Well, the ones working the night I went were soooo nice and courtesy. They deserve a thumbs up. Crowd: 21+ over club. 20s-30s Layout: There are two floors. The top is for bottle service(~$ 1000 for two bottles). Look at their website for more information. Some are located on the first floor too(probably for a cheaper price). Might want to consider this if it’s for a special occasion, like a birthday or graduation celebration. The general dance floor is on the same level as the bar and restroom. It can get crowded but it’s all good. The music varies depending which days you go, but it was good when we went. Brought home some memories and stories to retell in the future. Check this place out! :) I’ll def be back when I’m in the city and wants to just have fun with my girls :]

Besides the fact that I had an unfortunate event of having my purse and phone stolen at Slone, this place was the ! We arrived via party bus for a Bacholorette party and after a few minutes of waiting in line, we were escorted in free of charge! The atmosphere at Slone is very cool. It looks like it is in a big wearhouse and from the outside, it looks a little ghetto. Once you are inside, you are transported into a crazy party! This place was packed to the max when we were here! Like you could barely move! Drinks are served with a heavy hand at a fair price point for location, music was on point ALL night, and when my things were stolen from me, the security did their best to help out. We stayed on the lower level and danced all night but there was a upper level too. The lighting is appropriate for a club and every now and then they have these huge air blasts that come from up top which were pretty cool. Photographers are everywhere snapping shots and handing out cards. I am definitely coming back to Slone, but my cell stays home!

Context: Saturday night after 11:00 pm. Was here with a few out-of-town peeps. Parking: Sucks. Get here early. Pricing: After 10:30 pm $ 20 cover/person, even for girls. Boo. $ 4 coat check. Restrooms: Single stall unisex restrooms. NOTOKAY. Boys stalling up the already long ladies line with a shared mirror and sink? Girls can’t powder their noses in peace! Not okay. Ambiance: There was the prerequisite fog and confetti, but the floor was disgusting, sticky, and wet. Someone even threw up on the floor. Yuck! No. NOTOKAY. The floor was so slick and gross I even saw one girl slip and fall. Security: The security did occasionally drag out aggressive guys… but, my friend’s stuff did get stolen from her bag(WHICHWASZIPPED) while she was wearing it on the dance floor. UNACCEPTABLE. Music: DJ played ‘Don’t Drop That Thun Thun Thun’ three times… No. Drinks: Didn’t really care for them. Didn’t have ingredients for an Electric Lemonade, seriously? Get it together, Sloane. Crowd: The guys here are crazy. 1) Every guy was wearing a plaid or checkered button up shirt. Seriously? Are you all lumberjacks and hipsters? This is a club… or is it? A friend and I made it into a game and counted up to at least a dozen guys in plaid until we gave up. 2) The guys that go here are ridiculously aggressive. My friend was already dancing with a guy from our group and guys STILL tried to approach her. 3) Again, I must repeat that these guys are ridiculously aggressive. I was dancing with friends and this guy just stood there, stared at me, and watched while frequently licking his lips like a hungry wolf. He did this to multiple girls. It was disturbing. Like we all know, clubs and bars must close by 2 am. This place was packed around 11 pm, but started to slowly empty around 12 – 12:30 am. This is a bad sign. Just don’t go here. Instead, go Unilocal up a cool bar and get a tasty locally brewed beer with some friends. Don’t bother with this place. If you don’t heed my warning: Get there before 10:30. Only bring things that you can fit in your bra so you don’t get it stolen: Phone, ID, cash and some tall male friends. Please don’t stick your tall male friends in your bra, but you know what I mean. Leave everything else in the car and out of sight. Don’t be stupid. Tall male friends will bat off the yucky creepers. Be safe.

WORSTCLUBBINGNIGHTEVER. I came here on a Saturday for the first time. I did the usual of gustlisting to get in before 10:30 and there was a line forming when we drove by at 10pm. I stood in the first line at 10:10 and then you have to stand in the second line. I was able to get in around 10:25 but they do hold up the line. The beginning of the night was already pretty crowded and the music was not the same as Jay Espinosa night. There was a mix of people this time, still a majority asian. As the night progressed, the club got more ghetto and disgusting. The floor was crowded, the bar in the front was filled, and people started to smoke on the actual dance floor. Literally all the Asians disappeared and I could not take it at all at 12:30am. I had to leave the place and when I got to my car around 1am, someone had broken my window and stolen all my possessions in the car, including the stuff in the trunk! Those terrible people were were so gracious to lock the door after breaking in… This topped the night and made it the worst ever. Parking seemed safe and the area of the club seemed alright but this area is terrible. It is unsafe and I will never come back here again. I wrote a review for Friday night and I had a great time. Saturdays are terrible here. **TIPS** 1) If this review has not discouraged you from coming here, then my only recommendation is to be careful with parking and come here on a Friday instead of Saturday. Saturdays are ghetto.

You know, I wanted to give this place a higher rating… but because of my last experience here… I don’t feel like this place deserves more than a 1. Why is it that, the last 3 times here… one of our girl’s iPhones gets stolen each time?! Third time being mine. I understand that if I was completely plastered and drunk out of my mind, I might be a little more reckless with my belongings, but being pretty gosh darn sober having fun dancing out on the dance floor… only to find that your cross-body bag is half zipped with everything still in it’s place but your phone?! TOTALKILLJOY. I mean… I always hold my bag in front of me(because obviously… what’s behind you, you aren’t going to be aware of), and for the split… maybe minute… that my bag swung behind me, someone had stolen my phone in that minute. Really?! When I reported my stolen iPhone to the people at Sloane, all they could tell me was that I was not the only girl, and that about 10+ other girls had, had their iPhones stolen that night. TOTALREDFLAG!!! I think it’s time that you guys step up your security because there are seriously some shady ass people at Sloane. Once your phone is gone, it’s pretty much gone for real. Don’t expect yourself to be lucky enough to be one of the few that gets their phone returned. Anyways… my horrible experience aside, I was at least thankful that the people that worked at Sloane were sympathetic towards my helpless situation(or so they seemed, haha). They were kind enough to take down my information anyways, in case they did find my phone even though it was unlikely. They don’t play bad music, and do a good mix of EDM and Top 40, but seriously… watch out for your belongings. Because of my awful experience, I’m not going to put myself in that kind of vulnerable state and I’m not coming here again. No more.

Parking is available on the street and pretty easy to find. I do not remember having trouble looking for one. And when I said trouble, I meant it takes me less than 30 seconds for me to find one. When approaching Sloane, you will find yourself surrounded with tall beautiful brick walls(I always love the look of brick walls –photo op!). There are two(2) lines that split at the entrance. One for bottle service and another for guestlist. After passing through the rope line and ID checks, a security lets you in and you enter the hallway to two(2) rooms. On the left you enter a smaller room directly to the bar. Through this area you can find the smoking area and the mezzanine level. Back in the hallway and straight ahead from the doors you just entered is the main dance floor where you find the bar on the left, DJ set up ahead, VIP booths on the left and more tables on the 2nd floor. It’s mainly dark but has a lighting technician to make sure it’s lit at the right time based on the music the DJ is playing. The security is polite, friendly and respectful as long as you don’t cause any trouble and disrespect them.(As a new employee, I made sure to gain respect on their turf. A lot of smiles, «thank you», and acknowledgement as often as I can when their around) The bartenders are very attentive. I’ve encounter at a lot of bars and nightclubs where they’re like to socialize with their co-workers more than serving/making drinks. These bartenders are very professional and what I love most: they smile!(Smiles are contagious) The hostesses are extremely hard working and are on top of things. I have yet to really chat with them since they are always running around getting stuff done. This is always a great sign, because they’re actually working. What type of music is being played depends on two people, the owner and the DJ. The owner approves the DJ, thus knows what type of music they are playing. The DJ selects music based on what genre he specializes and what the owner tells him to play. I, for one, love the type of genre they play. They play mostly electro house, mash-ups and top 40s. Once or twice a night you will here a couple of hip-hop, dub step or something off beat but not often. As long as I have been working the club industry, I really look forward to the nights at Sloane. Beautiful place, good music, skilled DJs, great and beautiful staff… what more do you want?

When girls come, guys come(FORTHISCLUB)! I feel like girls love this club just because you can get in for guest list before 10:30pm and it’ll be free! On top of that, their MUSICISDOPE! My kind of music — mainstream and hip hop for the most part! Music that you can dance to in clubs! DRINKS are priced on average! LAYOUT is spacious — good dance floor and adequate section for bottle service! One thing that they can improve on is their bathroom situation where it’s a co-ed bathroom area. I’ve seen better designed bathrooms for clubs, but by the time you have had drinks in your system, you wouldn’t care how the bathroom looks. When you gotta go, you gotta go! FINALSAY — One of the underrated and overlooked clubs in the city, but one of the best bar clubs to have a guaranteed, fun night out!
